Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1.14/day in the week to Sep 2 → 1.14/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

A remake of a game from like 20 years ago. I feel the mechanics are dated compared to modern entries, but it's still an enjoyable farming sim. Positives: 🐤 Nostalgic appeal with QoL improvements 🐤 Almost no missable events = very relaxing (except for character
Cliff, who may leave town permanently
) 🐤 Long-term replayability Negatives: 🐷 Limited customization: preset/limited MC appearance, attire, house decorations, etc. 🐷 No overarching storyline, no specific goals. You inherit a rundown farm that's all. It's up to you what to do. Can feel aimless at times. 🐷 Very, very grindy if aiming for 100% completion The game goes on sale frequently (I got mine at -75%). It's cheap enough to add to your Library and play when you want to kill some time.
This is my first entry on farming games. Played on GBA and gifted weeds to popuri. Such memories hold this game together. Would recommend for nostalgia enjoyers. I hope this gets a remastered with modern gen graphics and QOL that could also allow the player to travel into a city and flex his/her crops to everyone.

Only buy if you are really nostalgic for farming games from 20+ years ago, as this is a "true to the original" remake of a remake of a 26 year old PS1 game. This means the game has:

almost no QoL features
a quite small (world-)map
no story beyond the brief intro sequence
no quests or tasks
no museum
no "projects" to sink time and resources into (e.g. restoring or rebuilding something)
no resource processing (furnace, etc.)
no combat
You mostly just farm, increase relationship with NPCs and break rocks in the mine (finding ores which you'll mostly end up selling since you only really need six of each type: one(!) per tool upgrade). And you'll likely spend a good amount of your gaming time referring to the wiki or googling because gift preferences are not tracked in-game and some of the game design choices / unlocks / secrets are rather unintuitive and most non-veteran players will probably not come accross them naturally. E.g.: you need to give gifts to the harvest goddess 100 times to unlock the mine elevator.

STORY OF SEASONS: Friends of Mineral Town Master Review (2025 Edition) - Farming, Feelings, and a Fixed-Up Classic ⭐ 4.5/5 stars — Three stars for charm, one and a half for the glow-up. Holding the last half hostage until we get a free-roaming camera. Let’s be real: Friends of Mineral Town is the warm hug of farming sims. The original already had that “cozy 2003 summer vacation” vibe, and this PC remaster actually does it justice — without turning it into some weird mobile cash grab or pixelated NFT hellscape. It’s cuter. It’s smoother. The animals are fluffier, the crops are crisper, and the controls no longer feel like you’re fighting the game to water your turnips. Actual quality-of-life improvements? Yes please. Inventory? Streamlined. Character portraits? Adorable. Milking cows? Still oddly satisfying. The new art style? Controversial for some purists, but honestly it’s like watching your childhood crush come back from study abroad — glowed up, still the same heart underneath. BUT. And here’s the one thing keeping this from 5-star farming perfection: No camera control. Come on, Marvelous. You gave us better tools, better UI, more charm… Why not let us pan the camera a little? Imagine rotating the view while your character sits under a tree. Zooming in on your dog doing nothing. Spying on the harvest sprites like a curious creeper. It would’ve been chef’s kiss levels of immersion. Summary: Visuals: Cute as hell. Gameplay: Classic farming loop with modern polish. Controls: Way better than the GBA thumb cramp era. Camera: Tragically stuck in “2003 nostalgia mode.” Overall vibe: Wholesome, peaceful, 10/10 would marry Karen again. Final Verdict: This remake is a love letter to fans that actually understands what made the original great. It's cozy, charming, and easy to lose yourself in for hours. Just give us the dang camera controls next time so we can look around our beautiful little town like the nosy digital farmers we are. Yours Truly, -MasterLuis
