Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1.14/day in the week to Sep 2 → 1.14/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Nostalgia for sure. Worth it if you played the original but does get repetitive quick. Grow crops and tell the spirits to water them for quick easy money. Don't worry they like working for free

Good game in general, however it is based on an old farming game all the way back from the PS1 era. So for modern gamers, things could get quite empty a lot of the time inside the game because there aren't many interactions. Especially when you compared them to other modern farming games such as Stardew Valley and the like. I would recommend it if you're here for a good ol' nostalgia time with some of the old characters and music. However if you're trying to find an engaging farming game with a lot of stuff to do, exploring big world, etc; this won't be the game for you. You're better off playing a more modern farming games, as there are tons of them out there. Overall it's 10/10 for me because i love harvestmoon (my childhood) but for most people that are new to this game, probably only 5/10. (But i would definitely recommend you to try it if you have some money to spare and you've already tried out all the other farming games!)
I grew up with the original Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town, and honestly that kept me from stardew valley. I don’t know those people! And I missed mineral town far more than I missed the farming sim as a genre. The redesign of character portraits is simply gorgeous. I’m skeptical of making pixel art into low-fi polygon animations usually, but post 3ds, I think this form of remake has managed to not look terrible. The text everywhere has been retooled and modernized and even in translation it shows a strong comforting voice and some real charm. I think it shows that you can have compelling characters without introducing the rougher aspects of rural life. We’re not butchering the cows, therefore we’re not dealing with anything more depressing than a drifter needing a steady job before he opens up to the townsfolk. One downside is that there’s really not too much time before you hit bedrock, it got my 100+ hours in, but sim games are built to a different standard. This started as a GBA game, and while there are many many QOL aspects added, it’s still a similar initial scope. This game’s great. I like it a lot. Nostalgia’s a big factor, but if you wanted to farm sim and something about Stardew doesn’t really land for you, I’d say this is more than worth a shot.

I've seen the credits so I can finally write this review. MY BACKGROUND: I was a big fan of the harvest moon series (The series name before the two companies broke up, something like that.) And I am heavily biased to the female farmer in HM:BTN. I have also played the GBA version "More friends of Mineral town" Because the PSP version for the female farmer just ends abruptly after you get married (Yes, apparently if you're a girl-- Your career abruptly ends after getting married in the PSP Boy and Girl Version. Not the most progressive ending but I understand that we can't have it all) > Start here if you don't care about what I've previously played from the series. This version SOS:FOMT is like a direct port of the GBA version released around the 2000s. They didn't actually add new things except for new candidates and a few other small things. Since it follows the GBA version, it has less dramatic plot than the Back To Nature plot line. I actually preferred the BTN plot line since it was more romantic, have a more interesting backstory for the female farmer and even though it ended abruptly, was cohesive in it's theme. Anyway, I was just happy to be back to Mineral town... that was until I played through the events and by mid point of my first year I realized that... This game is a ridiculously hollow remake! It's one thing if they wanted to be loyal to the GBA version but it's another when they had the audacity to add new romance candidates while keeping the interactions with the cast so-so robotic and few! See, if they were just trying to port the game and remain faithful to the GBA, I understand. But they added 2 new characters in- Why not just improve on the characters you already have and give them three extra lines per event? is that so hard to ask? Imagine this, you've been waiting the entire month for valentines day, psuedo-christmas dinner, moon viewing with your beloved or whatever.... AND THE GAME JUST GIVES YOU ONE LINE. ONE LINE. It's like excitedly waiting for the romantic dinner date and all you get is something in the lines of "I made this dinner. have this ring., lets not talk about work tonight, cheers" That may have worked for the limited technology we had back when the GBA version was first released but a remake at 2010-2020, you could've had at least added a bit more depth to the conversations instead of another empty character. The worse culprit was during my birthday. Usually when a game asks for an in game birthday, I set it near the end of the year so I have time to befriend everyone (and I love winter). By winter I was at high friendship and affection with everyone after painstakingly giving them gifts every day while balancing life at the farm. And what do I get? JUST A LETTER FROM THE MARRIAGE CANDIDATES. DUDE, NOT EVEN THE NON ROMANCE VILLAGERS GREETED ME. And those letters? they're not even sappy long ones. One of the Romance Candidates (Elly) even just sent me the most corporate birthday greeting of all "Happy Birthday! For your health, please remember to get a physical exam at least once a year" That is the exact letter you get from her. And no one mentions its your birthday at all. nope. Look man, How hard is it to put something in the mail along with those letters? it doesn't to be game breaking. The harvest goddess sometimes give you a bottle of Van's favorite in the mail. It is certainly doable. Not to mention, adding a line on the script like "Happy birthday!" when you talk to the villagers and maybe a extra cutscene if you're generous. I understand if they were trying to be 100% faithful to the MFOMT version but they weren't (Case in point, existence of Jennifer and Brandon) They just took the original game, changed it to newer graphics added "fun new features" like new romance candidates but they didn't strengthen what made their game good-- The story, the characters and the scenes that made farming and gifting feel worth it. Other notable examples to support this failure: According to wiki, your rivals don't get married anymore and there are less rival heart events. You only see like two rival events, People don't condemn you anymore if you put the golden log on your farm, your animal don't get sick or die so you don't have that funeral scene anymore. You don't get to talk to people after winning the derby to hear them congratulate you and so on and so forth. I feel like they also tried to "reduce" the difficulty but at all the wrong places because to get to the deep parts of the mine you have to go through 255 levels. And to unlock an elevator at the mine you have to give 100 gifts to the spring goddess and it only counts once a day. I get that there supposed to be some sort of game balancing but if I was a new player going into this blindly, I wouldn't think of scum saving or throwing 100 days worth of offerings to the spring goddess so it would be nice if they did some sort of a milestone checklist. Also I know they did this because they were probably trying to stop players from romanticizing the pastor or the married villagers but... Why did they have to do them so dirty? Like poor Zack, he used to look so cool or the pastor that I remember a lot of people having a crush on. Gray also look like he lost a lot of his personality and ended up as a typical cool boy but I think that was also kind of the direction for him in MFOMT. He was a lot more interesting in Back to Nature for Girls to be honest. Anyway, I wrote this review after seeing the credits scene and I MIGHT still continue playing it regardless but that is because I have a huge attachment to Mineral town that the game is preying upon. Do I recommend this to anyone who doesn't have a huge attachment to Mineral Town? No. definitely not unless you want to start on the series but keep your expectation very very low. Like youre playing a game from the 2000s that just so happens to have modern graphics. Do I recommend this to anyone who has a strong unhealthy attachment and yearning for their childhood game? Still no but chances are you already bought it the moment the game was released and we both suckers for the old Harvest moon games. By the way, I don't remember MFOMT that much. Just a Disclaimer. My Bias is HM:BTN and specifically the Boy and Girl version for PSP because that what I had back then. Thanks.
This game was not developed for PC. Look, if you played the PS1 version (Harvest Moon: Back to Nature), you're in for a big shock here... So I recommend reading this review before making any decisions. The first issue is the keys. Yes, the keys. They don't let you remap controls to the apostrophe key (`) or to mouse buttons (like the side buttons), which is just awful. And on top of that, the mechanic where you could pick up weeds and throw them anywhere is gone. The backpack system is weird. The way you store items doesn’t feel natural at all. But the worst part!!! They made time go by way too fast, and your starting stamina is very low and recovers too slowly. Remember that feeling in Back to Nature of working hard all day just to make a little extra money? That doesn’t exist anymore. Sure, you can work around it by learning to cook, collecting all the power berries, and so on. But that doesn't solve the main problem: the game's foundation is weak. Another thing you’ll notice early on is that they removed the girl who sings with you as a child, and now you have to figure out who it is. And the reason they removed her is because now you can marry boys too. Like, what? Why didn’t they just add a boy character with a similar story? It would’ve been so easy to add without removing anything. And that’s what frustrates me the most... The story has been dumbed down. The characters have this childish look, the yellow raincoat salesman isn’t shady anymore, your boss isn't strict anymore, and Gray (the blacksmith’s grandson) is no longer that quiet guy who always wears a cap. They needed a proper writer. They needed to actually play Harvest Moon: Back to Nature. Honestly, it smells like a quick cash grab riding on people’s nostalgia, made by a small studio that never played the original games and didn’t care enough to deliver something meaningful. I hope we get a better Back to Nature remake someday.
I think the quality-of-life improvements make this game way too easy. I dislike most of the character re-designs; they got rid of some of their most recognizable characteristics. They created a new female character which looks more like Karen than Karen herself. The 3D models make it look like a mobile game. They removed rival marriage! But this is still Friends of Mineral Town. I can still watch My Dear Princess on the TV on Sundays. Cliff — who doesn't bleach his bangs anymore — is still here, and maybe that's enough. If you have never played the original this review if futile, because you won't get pissed off at every little change like me. This is a good game.
