Game is simple but has a good loop. In it's current state it feels a bit light on content but has good bones. I would have played a lot longer if their were more levels and towers. Going back and doing the extra quests gives the game a bit more variety but I am really hoping to see some substantial additions in the following updates. When the game is working best, its relaxing and easy to chill out to while you watch slimes bounce towards their doom. The final island with tons of waves was by the far the most fun of all the islands, because of how crazy the builds can get. Hopefully there will be more of that in coming updates. When the game works less well is when it seems to struggle to find its identity. It doesn't seem to be sure if it is a roguelike, a deckbuilder, or a tower defense. While these three concept could very well come together to make something really interesting, the current version doesn't push any of these ideas quite far enough to quite work on their own. All that being said, if there was more, I would readily jumo back in. Looking forward to what the coming updates may bring. As it stands, it's a nice appetizer. Hoping in future updates it will become a full course meal.
Glorious Tower Defense! And with deck building!
Cons- -There is a small chance that when you swap from one island to another, the sound will blast you in the ears. Should get fixed at some point, small sound glitch isnt horrible, only happened once. Pros- -The balance seems pretty good at the moment, there is a lot left to RNG but all deck builders have that element to them so im not gonna complain. -The sound and music is pretty good right now, nice and comfy. I will update the review as the game develops, but right now I would recommend it.
Solid tower defense game. The artifacts between rounds that let you enhance your particular style are very neat and the challenges from the island selection give some replayability as you try different methods of victory.
Stop The Slimes is a really good take on the tower defense genre, if you grew up playing Bloons tower defense then you'd really enjoy this one. There's a solid amount of challenge over time and a good chunk of new mechanics to mix it up so its not like every one out there. One really cool thing this guy's doing is he added deck building mechanics, so over the course of your playthrough you're collecting cards and building a playstyle by choosing which card you want to keep in your hand. Also the crossbow item is my favorite, lets you puncture a bunch of slimes at once Great game so far! Excited for the final release
