Stolen Rage

So as this game has practically no reviews I'll leave this for anyone else who actually stumbles across this while spelunking in the dark depths of the STEAM store =) So first of congratulations for getting here past the terrible guardian that is the STEAM games list browser, it does do it's best to hide good stuff like this. For £3.99 this games a steal, I've played 20 odd minutes as of the time of writing and while the graphics are as janky as all hell (peoples faces will give you nightmares), the animation on the alien foot soldiers is goofy as hell (they bum rush you even if you blow their arms off like it's nothing) the plot is hilarious (Aliens invade, beat up the military AND STEAL YOUR DOG for REASONS... seriously, they straight up dog nap him,.. complete with heart wrenching dog whimpers whhyyyyyyyyyy?????) and the voice acting is... mediocre (Get some guy some Insulin and his response is "Thank you, I'm feeling much better, Here's all my money!"... I... didn't even ask for your money....and why are you so not bothered by the alien 2 feet from you?) the game itself is surprisingly good. You can tell that the dev(s) had big ideas with this game, too big considering it looks like it was built on a shoe box budget but everything just sort of, well, works (mostly). Take for example the mech, it looks cool (a good thing), it has a Dead Space style HP and energy meter displayed on it's back (cool) it's nicely animated (love the ammo feed jiggle while walking) and you can get out of it at anytime to go exploring the villages your wandering through to hunt for supplies. It all just feels good, even if it's not ultra 4k eye bleeding, ray traced with incertlastestfadhere-idier graphic ram hustling. And speaking of scavenging you get to use a pickup truck to haul bigger stuff like planks of wood, turrets, mech parts etc. around and bring them back to beef up your walker and base (at least that's the vibe I'm getting, at the 20 minute mark) If you can look past the Unity stock assets, poor early to mid 90s B series game graphics and amusing voice lines this game is definitely worth £4
