Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 6.71/day in the week to Aug 22 → 12.71/day in the week after.
Too few observations to say whether a discount moves this store's chart at all: across the last 30 days Steam · Top Sellers · Poland has just 18 day-to-day chart moves that followed a price cut, against 2,498 that did not. We are publishing the count instead of a direction — 20 is the fewest we will draw a conclusion from, and price collection outside the United States began on 6 August 2026.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Fine but boring for me
As is the norm for the genre, it's less a typical game and more an experience. And that regard, it does an excellent job. The story and pacing are good and I'm pretty sure the game can look spectacular if you have the rig for it and are willing to use adaptive resolution. It's Unreal Engine 5 though so, temper your expectations in that regard. For me, the game didn't run well, I had to quit practically every 30 minutes of gameplay because of overheating and that was with the settings turned on medium. As a result, the game didn't look much better than 2015's SOMA. For some reason, Lighting setting locked on High or Epic, which an odd choice. Many other settings are locked on Medium as a lowest available and you have to thinker to actually be able to turn off Adaptive Resolution which I found off-putting. Some of the outdoors sections on the oil rig are down-right miserable in terms of performance. I found myself rushing to get out of them so the game would run better. These performance issues made it hard to get immersed into the experience. I also experienced crashing on start and one instance of a mid-game crash, though the issue behind both seems to have been fixed by an NVIDIA Update that quite fortunately dropped a mere 1 day after I originally purchased the game. On the topic of performance, the game does not permit manual saves, whoever you do have reliable checkpoints both at the start and mid-way through chapters. I never found myself losing progress beyond the room/instance I was currently in. You can load these saves at will, including restarting scenes if you so desire (due to the very linear nature of the game, there's isn't a point to it) I have also experienced other technical problems, such as being unable to uncrouch when holding an item, sometimes not being able to interact with doors/bodies/items when crouched and toggle sprint not working reliably. The game features good accessibility options with adjustable difficulty and even a story mode which is a plus. In terms of mechanics, it's got the typical walking simulator, but it shakes things up with "parkour" and the occasional quick-time interaction. There's no inventory and only one proper tool, a screwdriver. Monster encounters let you hide and throw objects though I never got much milage out of the latter. I think the game does a good job of letting you understand the arenas before making you have to play hide and seek in them. Areas have "maps" you can find on walls though I did not get much utility from them as they don't display obstacles. Maps wouldn't be that relevant either since the game is astoundingly linear. There's barely if ever a side path you can take and 9/10 doors are locked. The game succeeds in keeping a tense atmosphere in its horror segments. There's variation between the different monsters, both visually, in terms of audio and in how they perform in chase scenes. It's not quite amazing but it's certainly a step-up for most horror games and that should be applauded. I'd even say the monsters are memorable and well-used. The story is very good, though I must admit the game didn't give me enough time to know the cast of characters and I often found myself asking "Who?" and "Did I see this guy before"?. There's also a noticeable lack of notes and other contextual information you can find which is tragic in my opinion. I'd say the ending can be a bit hit or miss, it's certainly a bit confusing but I think it clarifies itself by the time the credits roll. I will say I am pleased with the direction the story went overall and I think the pacing was quite good. Music is good. Voice acting and direction is excellent, I played the game in English (UK) so I got the intended experience and I'd say I'm quite pleased with it. Some of the slang confused me but I don't mind it. The game has around 5 hours of content, maybe 4.5 if you're efficient. There's no real replayability, no different endings or paths you can take to spice things up. I don't think the price it asks for without a discount is appropriate considering that. There are however a lot of achievements you can obtain which is... okay? Technically the one to find all of the dead crew-members would count as a collectible but given the minimal reaction when you do find one I can't count it as anything note-worthy. Overall, I'd give it an 8/10. It's a good experience but the between the performance issues and the lack of depth, I can't rate it higher. As for recommending it... Yes, if you can catch it on a good sale.

Still Wakes the Deep is hands down the best horror game I've ever played, up there with the best games I've ever played. While it may be mostly advertised as a horror game, it's so much more than that. It has an amazingly fleshed (no pun intended) out open-world. All the characters are written amazingly. The good ones are good, great ones are great, and the bad ones make you believe their inevitable fates are no less than completely deserved. You don't realize just how much foreshadowing flew over your head, how many double meanings you didn't pick up on, how many times disaster played out silently in the background without you realizing, and upon reflection or replay, all of this foreshadowing hits you like a truck. Something I love about the story is who we're in the perspective of. This game would not have worked so well if we weren't in the perspective of such a kind, optimistic person. Unfortunately for the optimist, this game is (what I'd refer to as) "remarkably lovecraftian". This game is incredibly genrically ambiguous. Just categorizing it as "horror" is just straight up unfair. It's horror when it wants to be, a tearjerker at times, a puzzle game most of the time, and geniunely one of the best examples of a lovecraftian game there is. Speaking of being a tearjerker, you'll probably cry. This story is incredibly sad throughout. It's a tragic scenario where everyone is doing their best but there's just no good outcome with such a devisating antagonist. Everything and everyone in Still Wakes the Deep is so incredibly well fleshed out. It's so incredibly well written and the gameplay is good enough as far as walking simulators go. The dialogue feels natural, never forced. It genuinely feels like I'm just a spectator in someone's body who's just catching up with friends whenever they talk. Overall 9/10 My only gripe is that sometimes the path forwards isn't clear enough. Probably just a skill issue, but I'm thankful that the respawn doesn't take forever

Amazing game. Terrifying. Very spooky. 10/10
One of the best pieces of Lovecraftian horror I've experienced. Definitely worth playing
11/10 Both the main game and the dlc
