Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 6.71/day in the week to Aug 22 → 12.71/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Poland over the last 30 days: the 21 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 12 places towards #1, and the 2,501 moves with no price cut behind them went 1 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
Conclusion
Setting and visuals are [strike]enough[/strike] not enough.
Still Wakes the Deep is a direct homage to The Thing (1982). The setting is very unique for video games, and the visuals make it even better. After a great prologue, I was finally met with the actual gameplay - and it was not nearly as good. Most of the time, all you do is move through the oil rig and occasionally interact with the environment. Sometimes you jump, sometimes you hide, but there is not much variety. Linearity is not a bad thing in games, but here it only makes the game even more boring. And most of the gameplay takes place in dark, tight spaces, where the visuals suck :D The story is just OK. Overall, it looks much more interesting than it is to play.
.
Platform and sneak your way around a collapsing oil rig, avoiding the mutated former crew. Takes 4-5 hours to playthrough. I paid £5.99 for it, so I can't really complain the game is too short, but I can't help but feel the game failed to reach it's potential by avoiding more, 'gamey', zones, in favour of, 'cinematic moments'. The heavy linearity is a real shame as some alternative routes, a couple of areas opening up, or some different ways to overcome obstacles; would really have elevated Still Wakes the Deep from a spooky walking simulator into a real classic horror game. Absolutely worth buying if you're after something lighter on action and heavy on great visuals. The art design is fantastic, lots of strange psychedelic stuff mixed with stranger body horror stuff. The charming characters will keep you entertained through your short time. No challenge here though. Game is not difficult on normal, and ridiculously easy on the lower setting. The game also has a vast variety of accessibility settings. I for one, really appreciated the setting that made dialogue easier to hear. If you're severely disabled and have never played a video game before in your life, this is a perfect first game.
It's an alright game but any game that relies heavily on framegen past recommended system requirments to run beyond 30 fps is an instant no regardless. The story was alright aswell, it's for sure more of a walking sim but I'd say a good one, enviorment team did a good, good job, everything's stunning. The monster design etc. was a bit underwhelming, this game also not at any moment felt like horror, not much tense moments, nothings really creepy, the only horror is the story of the crew that's it. Unfortunately they have weird breeder DEI with mc and his wife where their story is completely pointless and drives the narrative only if you tell yourself it does, more chemistry between the crewmates then what's supposed to be his entire reason for his actions, and even then their relationship dynamic is literally the most average breeder couple with absolutely nothing interesting about them where at that point, why even include it. Tag of lovecraftian is so so, if you're looking for specifically cosmic horror this aint it, I think people don't understand what lovecraftian means, visually you could say it kind of scrapes by to be included, story wise nothing there. Overall a solid walking sim, if the devs improve a bit on writing and spooks their upcoming projects will most likely be really good. Pick this up on a discount or full price if you're not broke and only if you have framegen or the latest gpu if that would even help.
