Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 6.71/day in the week to Aug 22 → 12.71/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

meh...it was ok but about 3/4 of the way through i just wanted it to hurry up and end. i really liked the setting and concept but after a while it just got boring. wish there were more cosmic horror and less about caz's life because he's kind of a ♥♥♥♥ and it's hard to care about anything thats happening to him. also there are some serious fps issues. updating drivers didn't help and i ended up having to drop the graphics from epic to high, and even then some parts were really laggy but it was still playable. $8.74 sale price seems like a much fairer price for this game than $35. if i paid full price i probably would have refunded.
The Thing + Alien Isolation + Lovecraft + Das Boot + Barotrauma + The Abyss extremely kino ending, super cool analog 70s tech everywhere very atmospheric, and the beginning is cozy loved it

I was excited when I saw Chinese Room name attached to this, considersing they delivered some great experiences in the past; games with remarkable graphics, voice acting that stood out in best way possible, with Jessica Curry's soundtrack - probably the best one in gaming history. You can tell devs have poured a lot of love and time into this project; it looks great, voice acting is in league of it's own... However, it is not the gaming experience I was hoping for. While this game does everything right - on paper - it is also quite boring. Setting of the game is where it really falls into a trap - everything looks and feels the same, go under the pipes, climb ladders down, turn valves on, go under the pipes, climp ladders up, turn valves off... Because of this, game feels much longer than it really is, with very few interesting, recognizable survival horror moments in between. Monster design is also somewhat generic, a body horror trope you've seen many times already. If this is your first survival horror experience of a sort, you might get something out of it. But if you remember the "golden age" of early 2010s, I'm affraid this is nothing to write home about. Sorry, Chinese Room...
+rep
Not worth the money. Not even close. I bought Still Wakes the Deep expecting a decent horror game. What I got was basically an expensive interactive hallway simulator with a very impressive ocean view. The atmosphere? Good. The visuals? Good. The sound design? Good. The actual game? Where is it? The story is painfully average, the gameplay is extremely simple, and the whole thing is so short that I was genuinely surprised when the credits started rolling. I thought I was halfway through. And then there's the €35 price tag. Thirty-five dollars for a game that feels like it ends just when it finally starts getting interesting. I've had microwave meals that required more commitment. The game isn't terrible. That's almost the problem. It's perfectly competent, perfectly atmospheric, and perfectly forgettable. If this was a € 5 experience, I'd probably recommend it. At € 35, though? Absolutely not. Beautifully made, aggressively short, and severely overpriced. 2/10. At least the oil rig had more depth than the story.
The game itself is good, but first of all early in the game it brings up unneeded political BS that has NOTHING to do with the rest of the game other than satisfy the devs political leanings. Now I have worked in the very same waters in the same industry the game was set, but many, many years later and the details of the rig at that time were quite accurate, however some of the characters were not. Voice acting captured the Aberdonian accent and lingo quite good. For the most part the game itself was good, but some things need changed to be real instead of "inclusive".
