This game represents a perfect tragedy as far as I'm concerned. Not to say that the story is a surprise; you know exactly what you're getting into upon opening the game. The ending is not a secret, nor is it meant to be. But the ending still hits because the characters are so lively and engaging that the emotional beats all land like freshly topped-off dump trucks. This is due in no small part to the voice acting, all of which was superb, and obviously the writing. Beautiful all throughout. It's on the list of games I wish I could play for the first time again. Cannot recommend this game enough.

This was a great story-ish. I loved the playthrough but I hated that you don't get answers to your questions in any way. Not that there was really a way for you to get the answers but it was annoying nevertheless. Someone has got some twisted dreams around here to have thought of this plot line. You don't get a whole lot of functionality from the character, meaning you don't get to DO anything except the most basic of things, the point is to get through the story of the game, not fight anything. No puzzles either really. Go here, avoid bad thing, click button/pull lever/break this thing/grab insulin box. Again, it is about the story which you just have to finish for some reason. I'll tell you the expansion as well, not really worth the money spent. Took me an hour or so. Doesn't tell you A THING about why things happened in the main game or what the point of it all was. There was no closure, just a quick little bring back to the main game and oh no, something is still down here, let's get out. Boooooooooo.

[h1] Good horror game. Terrible value if paying full price - get a key off a website. Overall 7.5/10. [/h1] Positives: Great voice acting, characters, dialogue. The setting is really cool. I do like the Eldritch body horror a lot, especially as a huge fan of The Thing. I like that it doesn't rely heavily on jump scares. Sound design and music is great. Negatives: - Terrible, absolutely shocking performance - not just for me but for many people and they haven't fixed it. - Terrible value for a £29.99 game. Way too short. Maybe if it was half the price it would be worth it but I cannot justify spending that much money on the game. - Story was a little bit generic, not really any unique twists or anything. Overall: 7.5/10 Recommended ONLY if you get it for cheap

Кропотливая попытка воссоздать быт, показать человека таким, какой он есть - беспомощным, эгоистичным, трусливым и слабым,а не Богом из Машины в красных труселях. Просто веришь качественной озвучке, хорошо прописанным диалогам, выразительному эмбиенту, незаезженному месту деqствия. События сменяют друг друга последовательно, без провисаний. Механики хоть и примитивные, но выполнены аккуратно, используются по обстоятельствам. Аркадной репетитивностью игра не страдает. Музыку опять же написал небезызвестный Джейсон Грэйвз, преимущественно шумел в Дэд Спэйсе и первом сезоне антологии Дарк Пикчерз. Неожиданно выразительный саундтрек, мелодичный. Повеяло Майклом Найманом, любимым композитором Питера Гринуэя, зачем-то. Неожиданно. Сам сюжет явно был вдохновлён лавкрафтианскими мотивами. В частности, рассказом Брайана Ламли “Ночь, когда затонула “Русалка””. Тоже про буровую установку в море. Только игра сняла с себя ктулхунианскую бижутерию - лишь чистая, 1-й пробы, хтонь без сплавов. После этой игры захотелось бросить суетливые ненастоящие проблемы, покинуть душный город, отправиться в путешествие, где каждый равен перед объективной природой. Красиво и лаконично, за 6 часов. [h1] “Всё ещё глубоко пробирает: Сирена отдыхает”.[/h1] Не затянута - на 2 часа. Опять же, получились живые диалоги без подробной экспозиции. Приятная крохотная история в дополнение к основной игре. Исключительно для тех, кому очень понравилась основная игра. Прикручено собирательство по желанию. Музыкально - по-прежнему хороша. Сразу видно создателей Dear Esther. Уютно, атмосферно, клаустрофобно.
