No real instructions on what to do in this game. If you do something out of order you can find yourself in a glitch where there is no possible ending. Very poorly designed game. No walkthroughs or guides and very little online at all if you can sit through it for over an hour. I’ve been a huge fan of the Kunio series. I love the old Kunio games and the new ones. This one seems to be purposely bad. It’s unfortunate. I’ve played plenty of worse games in my lifetime so I am going to be generous. Doesn’t mean I don’t strongly not recommend this game because it’s a disaster even on sale. 3/10
I've played a lot of brawlers and RCR games but... what the !$#% am I even playing here? Between picking random items to care about and define my character (that had a default name of Catherine even before picking the gender), to crossing dimensional rifts, to flying and fighting alien saucers, to cat saves, to fighting hovering rocket launchers, to a boss that is a pufferfish teddy bear face looking thing...I believe the developers are just trolling us. The brawling isn't really bad, but there are a lot of problems with it. Wiffing is way to easy, and you can find yourself flying across the screen way too many times (and out of the current area because of it). Add in that there are ares that are separated by gaps that are instant death that you can fly over, and not be able to get back. to the other side..but it doesn't matter. Why doesn't it matter? Because this game has 0 to do with actual exploration, and 100% to do with killing a certain number of each colored baddie. Once you hit the number of baddies you have to knock out of that color, then you are met with the baddie color boss on the next screen and every screen you go to after that....until you beat them. So basically you could go back and forth between two areas over and over, and never see any other areas...and still get what you needed to clear the bosses. Yes i actually did that halfway through. You have an AI partner...but there really is no point. They are too stupid to even be able to beat a drum if they tried. I watched Kunio kill himself off a gap...twice. I stopped at the red boss that is so annoyingly hard, Going on wasn't worth it. Basically if he hits you once, say goodbye to 1/3 of your hit points. But you hit him for about 1/300th of his. I am surprised I didn't quit at the yellow boss that is....like about half the game long. I didn't want to believe it. I didn't want to find out that this game is getting the reviews it deserves. The fact of the matter is: yes it does deserve them. They are all true. Every last thumbs down. You don't need this game. You don't want this game. I can't believe I am ever referring to this as a game since it is so badly created. It reminds me of my days playing Gorillas in QBasic class. Its not a game. Its a lazy attempt at making something that will only sell due to its tie in with the Kunio series. Arc Systems should be ashamed at themselves for this debacle.
