About

An entire universe awaits you in Stars Reach. In this science-fantasy MMORPG, you'll visit strange, new worlds, become an explorer, and build a life on planets that react to everything you do. Your choices will change your world. And, you'll do it with every other player on a single server. Leave your mark on the galaxy!
Each world responds to your actions. A deep, reactive simulation allows water to flow naturally, forests to burn, and lava to harden into new materials and land masses. From lush forests to winding rivers to perilous mountains, every planet has its own ecosystems, resources, and challenges. Your decisions determine what resources are available to you, how wildlife reacts, and ultimately which settlements prosper.
Planets are living systems. Your decisions determine what resources are available to you. Climate changes, creatures migrate, disasters strike, and the world reacts in ways you can’t fully control.
Travel through wormholes to discover new worlds, explore, build, survive, and thrive. Every planet begins untouched. What it becomes is up to you.
Master one of dozens of skill paths, and live the galactic life you’ve always dreamed. Whether you want to protect settlers as a ranger, build a trade empire, or offer your services as an architect, Stars Reach offers many skill paths that allow you to chart a course through space that fits your play style. There are different weapons to master. There’s a career path just for you in Stars Reach.
You’re not locked into any single playstyle. Experiment with different skill paths and find the combination that suits you best. Build your own class from different skill sets and define your role in the galaxy.
Your first steps onto a new world take you far beyond the familiar. You’ll need to adapt to your surroundings by learning to survive. Every skill path has accompanying equipment, which you’ll gain proficiency with by using those tools.
More importantly, your contributions to the community will increase your proficiency. A camp you build will earn you experience when others rest at it. Community means survival, and we’ve built Stars Reach to support pro-social behavior and limit the ability for other players to ruin your experience through griefing.
You can build a cozy cottage on a remote hill, and carve out a living by yourself. But if you crave community, team up to build settlements and cities, shape how they grow, and decide how they are governed.
Team up and claim a large plot of land that isn’t just a home base. You and your friends can cluster your homesteads, build a community, and govern together.
The resources you gather can be sold in a unified galactic economy driven by players. Or, you can use them to craft tools and technology to supply distant worlds with vital goods necessary for their survival.
Trade with players across the galaxy, specialize in what you make, and become a master of your craft and earn renown across the galaxy.
Your choices determine what comes next.
Cities grow or decline, ecosystems shift, wildlife becomes extinct, and resources are used up or recover based on what you do. Protect the environment and its inhabitants, or strip mine it for profit. Other players live with the results of what you leave behind.
This is Stars Reach! What will you become?

after 5.5 hours of playtime, I can see the bones of this game, it has a good foundation but it just lacks really anything of substance , paying $30 for this seems like a bad buy, this feels like an alpha build. Graphics:5/10 its not a very pretty game, at all, but i do like the art direction reminds me of a CoH art style controls: 5/10 weird things like pop ups that you cant close unless you go to the inventory screen (or skill screen etc etc) , or during character creation you cant just right click and move your mouse to turn the model around to see it, have to manually push the left or right rotate button on the screen, just weird QoL type of things that feels weird to be omitted from this gameplay: now an exciting action MMo this is not, I aimed at some deer and didnt even realize my guy was shooting with the Rifle, also lots of bugs with aiming and shooting with the terrain modifier , also the game does not run very well, even with the settings at low, the thing that bothered me those most was the space station hub feels empty, feels like someone made it on a weekend as a small outpost. Crafting: now this is a hit and miss for me, lots of skills and lots of crafting except , im at a point where i have tons of ore and i got the refining skill, but now you gotta figure out what ore type you have because there are 5 or 6 different expensive skills you have to unlock to refine certain ores, its a little difficult trying to figure what type of ore you have, because there is ALOT of different ore types. and now im trying to figure out how to make a Refining station which has alluded me , but i def like how crafting can be done, to be honest this game is just too bare bones, the quests are just a quest board, where you are sent to a planet to do random things, the enemy Ai is pretty terrible , there just isnt alot to do but mine for ore and try to build a homeestead (which is crazy expensive, I just don't see this staying alive in the state its in even for an early access game, its just so baron

It's like spiderman... but with alot of holes....
I like MMOs. I like Space. I have like 1000 hrs in Elite Dangerous and still play No Man's Sky. Let's just say this is not those. Where my spaceships, tooltips, friendships, ownerships? I want to like this game. But just can't. Maybe the oven will fix it.
I really enjoy gaming systems where skill advance through use (think Ultima Online). Despite the issues that one expects for initial early access I have enjoyed coming back again and enjoying casual on line play and hints at much greater depth. I play with controller with Keyboard input when necessary. Will continue to follow early access.
Stars Reach has quirks. Stars Reach has issues. Stars Reach has major potential. Don't buy the game expecting a finished product, because it is not complete. I'm confident that if this game doesn't get shut down from negative media it will one day be a great game.
For goodness sake, let them cook. To start, let me just say, I am having so much fun despite the bugs. But I went in knowing that this was an alpha state, which always seemed to be the norm for Early Access games. The worlds are beautiful, some are VERY alien, some are more familiar and the galaxy is going to keep expanding. Sure some of the progression issues have been frustrating, however you know what this game has that not many do? A dev team that actually communicates. Every single day the devs are talking with us, identifying issues and taking our feedback on what we like and dislike. I have never seen this much communication. As for the "20 year old graphics" I just have to ask... Huh? The graphics are great, the worlds look beautiful and I have had so many breathtaking moments while exploring. The art style is clearly inspired by classic Sci-fi. The bigger props from the 1950's and 60's jumped immediately into my mind. The races are all very different, and some say they seem out of place. Well it certainly goes with the theme of random ALIEN races being "saved" before extinction and put into a relatively safe place to start again. (The Cradle) The performance could, and WILL be a lot better. There are many more systems that will come in and honestly? You should follow the "Living" roadmap which is updated immediately as things are addressed and added to each stage of development. There are often daily changes and it's awesome! They plan to be out of EA in 6 months and are busting their butts every day. If you are on the fence and haven't fallen immediately in love like many of us have, wait. Just wait until 1.0. It's going to be Free so why not just wait for the finished product? If you can handle bugs, even sometimes severe ones, without knee-jerk "THIS SUCKS, REFUND, ANGRY AND INSULTING REVIEW" (Really guys, constructive criticism get heard way better than hate) then give it a try! Honestly this game is what I've been waiting for and Raph Koster honestly tells it like it is. I have faith in what this game will be at 1.0 launch. (and beyond)
This game has a LOT of potential. yeah its buggy and glitchy right now but this game so far is GREAT and i can now see how people compare this to how Star Wars Galaxies initially was......
Really ambitious game and I love what the team is trying to do, reminds me of social MMOs of the past. I hope it continues to grow and develop. If the team listens to the player base, and reduces some of the friction and pain points, it could be really great. Needs more time to cook for sure, but also easily thirty dollars of entertainment right now. IMO. Yours may vary. runs great on the base xbox rog for whats it worth
So I played in the playtests before and it seems like the same issue I had before is still there. THIS GAME IS SO CONFUSING! Simple things like obtaining recipes, skills, XP in certain skills are way too complicated! Example: it seems you cannot even cook a basic skewer which I have the recipe for. Apparently I need a skill to cook that. you cannot get said skill without getting XP and points in cooking which you cannot achieve without cooking anything!!! Also, this game is really not even ready for EA. It plays like an Alpha test. I cannot recommend this game at all till they make it a lot less convoluted and confusing to do basic tasks in game. I have never been more frustrated in a survival game before!
come on in and check it out!
