About
Entropia Universe is a unique massively multiplayer online game (MMO) where virtual assets hold real-world value and players can participate in a thriving virtual sandbox economy. The platform has been live since 2003 and continues to push the boundaries of virtual economy design.
Set in a persistent, single-shard universe, Entropia Universe offers a deep and evolving sci-fi world spanning multiple planets and vast space environments. Unlike traditional class-based MMOs, players progress through infinite skill development, with the freedom to define their own roles and paths.
Players can invest in in-game companies, own land areas, and even acquire shares that pay real dividends, connecting gameplay with genuine economic opportunity.

Given its "no-class" system, and real cash economy, Entropia Universe has many professions that players can specialize and participate in such as:
Hunting - Hunt creatures, fight bosses, complete dungeons
Mining - survey the land and extract resources used in crafting
Crafting - Craft items in demand
Trading - Buy low, sell high. Become a skilled entrepreneur
Taming Creatures - Tame sought-after creatures around the universe and sell them for profit
Beauty Services - Skill up and offer avatar modification services
Shop Owning - Buy and run your very own shop in a persistent world
Land Area Owning - Own a huge slice of virtual land to generate revenue from taxes
Investing - Buy and sell shares on the Entropia Exchange
PvP - Take on other players in lootable PvP

In April 2026, Entropia Universe launched the highly anticipated Fishing and Cooking systems! Discover over 100 different kinds of fish, mix, match and update your rods and attachments - and turn your catch into highly desirable consumable food to buff your avatar.
Every body of water in the universe can be fished in, be it Casting, Fly Fishing, Angling or even Deep Sea Fishing from the back of a boat. It's up to you to find the best combination of gear for the fish you want to catch.
This update brings a whole new dimension to the in-game economy, offering colonists new careers and specialisations as avid fishermen or gourmet chefs.

Entropia Universe has just launched its brand new tutorial and starting experience for the game. This new starter zone: Setesh, provides new colonists with a better start in the universe than ever possible before - so don't miss the opportunity to try Entropia today and be a part of a new Golden Age!

I played Entropia Universe back in the mid–late 2000s when it actually felt like something was happening all the time. The economy was active, places were crowded, and there was this constant feeling that you could grind, trade, or even get lucky and actually make real money. Even if you didn’t, it still felt alive and worth being in. Coming back to it now is honestly pretty disappointing. It feels really empty, like most of the player-driven economy just dried up. The social side that made it interesting is basically gone, and a lot of it just feels like running the same old systems in a mostly dead world. Instead of a “living economy MMO,” it feels more like a leftover husk where the idea is still there, but the actual life and excitement disappeared a long time ago.
This is a game I have fond memories of. I used to play around 2012, had a blast. I had some decent weapons, I had a space ship called a sliepniir I could go from planet to planet, I had decent armor and I earned more than a little PED sweating critters and healing folk. I decided to get back into the game because of these fond memories only to find out that EVERYTHING is gone. No ship. No armor. No weapons. No money. Nothing. Nada. The fuel in my ground vehicles is gone, so I can't even reach sweating group locations. 1/10 DO NOT RECCOMMEND. I spoke to players who do play and they have all told me the devs/game/whatever sell off the things you've earned if you don't stay active. That's like going to work and saving all your money for years, leaving it for a rainy day to come back to, only to find out the bank has sold your house, emptied your accounts, and auctioned off your belongings because you weren't there for a bit. I can literally go to any other multiplayer game that I haven't been to in over ten years and find all of my things, things I've earned, still there. Honestly, it would have just been better for the devs to have deleted my character so I could start over. That would have been tons better than leaving me with nothing.

First off, do not play this game if you don't have either A. an excess of income to put into the game or B. an excess of time to waste. Don't play this game thinking you are gonna make money, you won't. If an open world game with barely any rules and multiple planets and space flight excites you, then by all means, play this for FUN. It WILL cost money to play, there are very few ways to play for free and they are extremely time consuming. Just deposit 20 bucks, look at youtube videos of what to do with that money, and see if you truly enjoy it. I literally only log on when I'm watching a movie and want to grind for a couple hours on the side, cuz I like watching my progression of my skills. It is a good game, but it is very boring if you want quests, have nobody to play with, and have no money. I've only ever put in 20 dollars and I've made hundreds, but that has been 6 years of playing and optimizing everything I do to the T, and I'm still considered a beginner skill wise. (game just released on steam but on the launcher I have maybe 500 hours) I have met very cool people who have trained me, given me free things, and guided me on how to play better. It is very frustrating for a brand new person who wants their hand held, this game has no handholding and any information you want will have to be researched or found out from another player.
Gameplay itself is clunky and buggy. Maps and areas unfinished, terrain issues, cities with nothing going on; just a collection of structures with some vending machines. Auction system is naff. Everything you do is a net loss, so it's really just an opaque monetisation system. Once you're a little past the tutorial you will see it. It's free to play for the tutorial. The objective is to minimise how much it's costing you to play. Ammo alone means any kill is a net loss, before you consider weapon and armour durability. Could have been a fun idea, but looks like yet another dead sandbox in milking-mode.
Stay away from this "game", you will never make money, you'll always lose.
Best game ever. Been playing for 20+ years and its fun. Stop whining and being a n00b and depo and play!
casino game , player allways loose
TL;DR VERDICT: An outdated, heavily politicized RCE sandbox that functions more like an unregulated casino than an actual video game. The developers can block your country and lock your real-money assets at any moment based on geopolitical whims. Avoid it at all costs.

Detailed review:

Politicization & Asset Risk: MindArk (the developers) banned an entire region based on geography, locking players out and weaponizing their platform. In a project where users deposit real money and trade virtual property, this ostentatious selectivity proves that your digital assets and wallet are never safe here.
A Disguised Casino: Every single action—whether it’s firing a gun, swinging a pickaxe, or crafting—is a paid bet tied to a hidden Random Number Generator (RNG). Spending $100 on ammo just to get $20 worth of loot is standard practice. The graveyard of players who lost thousands of dollars here is vast.
Extremely Harsh Pay-to-Win: Playing for free is a myth. Without constant, heavy cash deposits, the gameplay boils down to hours of mind-numbing clicking on monsters to gather "vibrant sweat" (sweating), yielding mere cents per hour.
Outdated Gameplay & Visuals: Despite a decade of empty promises regarding a transition to Unreal Engine 5, the game is a crude throwback to the early 2000s. The combat system is clunky, the interface is horribly overloaded, and the physics are archaic.
Predatory Withdrawals: Getting your money out (RCE) is a nightmare. The system hits you with massive fees, endless verification checks, and long wait times. Worst of all, the administration can terminate your account on mere suspicion without any explanation.
Empty World & High Entry Barrier: The universe consists of vast, barren, half-empty spaces with zero meaningful storyline. The lack of a proper tutorial forces you to spend days reading third-party guides just to figure out how not to lose your entire deposit in the first ten minutes.
The game is also available on another account. This kind of low quality crap from these developers is not worth your time. Technical condition: The game is hopelessly outdated. The graphics and interface remain at the level of the early 2000s, and the gameplay will waste a lot of your time without having any fun! Economics and entry threshold: There is nothing to do here without huge financial investments (donations). The withdrawal system is not transparent, and the risks of losing your investments due to administration decisions are too high. Relation to the audience: The developers have completely blocked access for players from the Russian Federation and use the registration page to demonstrate their political views. Investing energy and money into a project where you can be banned based on your nationality is like that...
