Couldnt ever get past how the controls feel
Great game. 3rd person flight. some light rts mechanics. with fleet building. simple controls. I would love warlords 2.
Little lovely game. Though i have not finiahed main campaign yet. I would recomend it on sale only. It is decent space game where you can conquer territory in space and stations and so on. But there is a lot of stuff that feels just half baked. But also a lot of stuff what is fun. For me most annoying were that your ship would only fire at single target even though some of the weapons were just idle because they are at your rear side. And i really wanted to play carrier but as far as i can tell they seem just underwhelming. I did not feel much of a difference when i launched my fighters. Dps wise. Though carriers are prity sturdy. There probably is more i could go on but over all decent space game with building your empire so the vision is awesome just not enough. I really hope they will make sequal to Warlords since the other Starpoint gemini titles are nothing close to this.
Boring jobs bad combat i know it from 2017 so back then it gues it would of been a ok game like a 4 or 5 out of 10.
A genuinely great little space game. If you want X without the complexity, straightforward sandbox joy, give it a shot, it still holds up well.
Is it nearly as complex and intricat as X4: Foundation? Nope. Is it as expansive and detailed as Elite Dangerous? Also nope. But it's more fun to play in the minute-to-minute experience, easier to manage fleets and trades, the story campaign is actually pretty decent, and I love flying around a capital warship from the get go and managing resources, politics, fleets, expansion, the works.
Does not offer full controller support as advertised. The right stick is not working.

(game complete at 33.3 hours at time of review, part of my review all my games effort) (Short version) If a lighter version of Stellaris and a full version of Star Fleet Command had a baby it'd be Starpoint Gemini. An interesting game that really grinds in the end... A pretty good deal for $35. (long version) An interesting take on RTS that includes 3rd person space combat. It's not as complicated as some people would make it seem, there are a few things the tutorial doesn't prepare you for, but by then you should have a handle on what's going on. $35 is a pretty good price for what you get. The good: It's like a lighter version of Stellaris meets Star Fleet Command. 1: Gameplay is a bit repetitive but is satisfying, having the ability to choose one of three different classes goes a long way. I appreciate that there's a talent tree and research tree it adds depth. 2: Ships are interesting and there is a lot to do even during the main mission. The main mission gives you time to develop i.e. "Get to this class of ship before moving on." so you're encouraged to conquer the galaxy. 3: The story is interesting and kept me engaged. The bad: This game is great however, it's obvious that it's from an independent developer. There is a lot of jank... 1: AI fleets are not very good at helping, they'll definitely be of help but they're not smart, they will often attack enemy fleets completely outside the objective leaving you stranded. 2: The job board is extremely boring and repetitive, you've done one installation defense you've done them all, balance disappears when you get to battleship class, making some jobs nearly unbeatable. Also the compensation doesn't scale. 3: Enemy ships that are out of the fight shouldn't keep fighting... just saying (if you know you know).
