Good idea. But bad game.
I have put significant hours into Starion tactics. Many of the game features don't work, here's a list. - AI difficulty - they all play the same, terrible - Artifacts - board game special find that doesn't work at all - Ship shields - don't do anything - Ship movement points - nope, don't do anything - Ship levels - Many achievements List of annoying features: - Two clicks for each individual ship to move, yes that's right - 90 clicks to move 45 ships - After you build X amount of ships the AI's near you all turtle in home base - AI can't tell the difference between valuable planets and crap ones - I worked hard to make the AI viable, giving myself disadvantages, etc but it is just too bad ONLY get this game for the multiplayer - No manual to explain things like luck dice rolls The game is basically space risk. You gain resources from territories you control and build different ships (about 6 different ones for each empire) according to your income level. Ships, however, are fairly homogeneous. There is no research, ship levels, custom maps (all maps are sized grids) or any other advancement of your empire. I do not recommend paying more than $2 for this game. It's clear something happened during development and a half-developed game was shipped. There is evidence of planned features that don't work. It can be fun to play. I often fire it up when I have a really bad day at work and I come home realizing I can no longer kick the dog (THANKS PETA) or beat the wife (THANKS FEMINISTS) so slapping around Starion Tactics' AI scratches that itch for me. Maybe you can find a niche in your life for it too?
ostrzegam crap
Exceedingly plain and banal game. The trailer is misleading, there is no storyline and the featured visuals have no connection to gameplay, they are just menu animations. The strategy consists of an even grid of planets and you are essentially pushing pieces around playing space-checkers or space-go, but with the addition of some tedious board game rules.
Only "tutorial" there is it it only manual where player needs to read a lot. And not only that, but it is also unreadable. Like there's to much info to get around and the too much images which might be distracting or something else for which I don't know the word for it. Maybe there should be also tutorial at least for basic stuff of the game. And it seems to be something closer to board game where there is mode like that, and other modes could be same. And trying to getting into the game without reading manual player might not understand what's happening. Or maybe some players might not understand it after reading manual. It doesn't ask for player attetion to keep player intrested in the game.
This game plays more like a version of space Chess! Great board game with nice looking space visuals. There are 4 races to choose from, each with their own distinctive fleet designs. There are also card resources you could use to benefit your sojourn across the stars as you seek to conquer all the systems or find a number of artifacts to win the game. I did encounter a "new game" bug when the game didn't start, freezing just before animating through all the players. All I had to do was restart the game and the game asked whether I wanted to restart from where I left off, and it works fine after that. There were a handful of selection issues, but you just re-click again on a different spot or object, and things should be fine. Other problems include moving of forces, which escalate to a clickfest of tedium when you have large fleets. Click on your ship, click on the system, click on the OK button - all just to move a single ship. And, too bad you can't do anything in battles; the simulated battle is seen from the rear-end and the outcome of the battle cannot be affected in any way; you just wait for all forces on one side to be destroyed. I also didn't like the way fog of war was implemented, it's essentially non-existent after all systems have been revealed; it's like you're omniscient. I think Starion Tactics is about a slightly below average game, that is if you're looking for a board game that stresses on capturing "lands". There is a bit of card game thrown in to collect resources with a few cards containing special effects text. I guess if you play it with local multiplayer in small matches, the game should be fine, but then I haven't tried that out yet. After playing the game for an additional 5 hours, I wanted to thumbs down, but I'll guess I thumbs up for the lovely starry background, nice rendered planets, and basic board game style strategy gameplay.

3/10 better buy a giant size box of (c) tic tacs The screenshots are quite appealing and the graphics are what earned the game 3 points but it ends right there. After playing for even a short time you immideately think of a board game conversion gone wrong. The whole setup doesn't work out for SP against the AI and the gamplay becomes pretty boring pretty fast. The management UI also makes playing tedious. If you like these kinds of games, head over to boardgamegeek.com and check out some RL alternatives.
It's one of those games that look good, but with a pretty bad gameplay. The main problem is that it's repetitive and becomes boring quite fast.Maybe it's just me not enjoying this game,or maybe it has some problems.
Repetitive, reminicent of a mobile game.
