About

In Puzzling Places you piece together 3D jigsaw miniatures of locations from around the world. There are no scores or timers — just the simple, relaxing joy of connecting pieces and discovering small details along the way.
Would you like to attend a medieval wedding in the Spanish royal palace? Explore Mont-Saint-Michel, a French abbey perched on a small tidal island in Normandy? Or wander a cozy Alsace street corner with flowers and playful cats?
The game features 18 unique locations from around the world, each rich in detail, accompanied by distinctive soundscapes, with some featuring small story moments and subtle animations.

Whether you’re a dedicated jigsaw enthusiast who enjoys long sessions with hundreds of pieces, or you just want to unwind by snapping together a few, every puzzle is available in multiple piece counts and two game modes—so you can choose the playstyle and level of challenge that suits you:
Classic Mode: You get all pieces at once and sort and assemble freely, just like a traditional jigsaw
Journey Mode: Start from a single piece and puzzle in small batches for a calmer, more guided experience. Ideal for casual play, short sessions, or when you just don’t want to deal with “the big pile.”
Multiple Piececounts: Each puzzle is available in 25, 50, 100, 200, 400 pieces - and some even 800 or 1000 pieces!

Puzzle comfortably on your desktop PC, on the go with Steam Deck, or fully immersed in a VR Headset, including the Steam Frame — Puzzling Places has been optimized across all three platforms.
Playing in VR? Team up with a friend in 2-player online co-op and solve puzzles together (VR platforms only).

It's a fun game, but there are only 18 puzzles at this point in time. Instead of getting an update with more content, the devs decided to release multiple DLCs that cost almost as much as the initial game itself. It feels like a cash grab at this point.
I liked this game. Controls are a bit clunky sometimes, but it's good to play and there are enough variants to set the difficulty where you want it. But I expected some more puzzles to come over time as there aren't that many in the game yet. And now they came, but with a very heavy price of over 4 times the price of the base game if you want the DLC bundle. Thus: can't recommend. Just overpriced.

I originally fell in love with Puzzling Places on the Meta Quest. When I saw it was coming to Steam, it was an instant wishlist and a day-one purchase for me. I play the PC version in 2D. At launch, I noticed a few Quality of Life features (like grouping pieces) were missing compared to the VR version. I reached out on the forums with my feedback, and the developers actually listened, they implemented the missing features within just a few weeks! It's a fantastic, relaxing puzzle game backed by incredibly responsive and player-focused developers. Highly recommended!
I just bought the largest bundle with the base game. A bit disappointed as not all puzzles come with the cards showing the completed puzzle from various angles. They're much more difficult with the reference cards. Not sure why the devs decided to do that after including reference cards for both puzzles in the demo. Disappointing but I'd still strongly recommend it. Regarding the reviews saying the DLCs are overpriced: the largest bundle cost me less than $55 CDN and gave me about 71 puzzles in total. Claims of the game being overpriced is overhyped.
This game has rekindled my love with my Index headset, and I probably spent more time playing VR last month than I did in the entire last year. It is something that I look forward coming back to, and I was more hyped about the upcoming DLC packs than I was for most everything else in recent memory. Beyond the beautiful set pieces and dioramas that were chosen for the base game and the DLC, there is a general polish that shows a minute attention to detail. The satisfying sound of pieces snapping in place, together with the tolerance in distance and alignment all feel fine-tuned to give a feeling of accomplishment after finishing a jigsaw, especially when it is one of the larger ones. And they can get quite large - I estimate that some of the 1000 piece jigsaws have real-world dimensions of 3m or more, enough to fill a whole room. Beyond the detailed visuals of the pieces themselves, many jigsaws have additional atmospheric details such as sound ambience, dynamic light and shadow and day-night-cycles, and some even come with small animated figurines which dynamically move across the scenery. If you have a VR headset and are looking for something beyond hectic action and simple arcade games, this game might be for you. The demo is already a very representative slice of the full game, and the DLC only adds more of what I can only call the most immersive cozy game I have played.
I love this game! When I first tried it out, I started with journey mode and got bored and thought it wasn't for me. (Too simple, too hand-holdy.) I forgot to ever try classic mode, so now, a few months later, I was looking at reviews and realized there was another mode. So I tried it out again and was hooked! I bought the game and have been playing it while listening to audiobooks and podcasts. It turns out classic mode is *exactly* what I wanted from this. Highly recommended if want a 3D puzzle simultaor!
This game is so good. One of the most relaxed zen things you could possibly do in VR. I've done a couple 200 piece puzzles in about an hour. I'm not brave enough to do 400 piece puzzles yet. I played this game a long time ago (i think on stand-alone quest) and I don't remember all the animated people and animals. It seems to have taken it a step further with this version. If you're slightly interested in something like this definitely get it.
