I want to recommend this game. I love the style and character design. All the characters are so cute and i want to get to know them by hearing all their dialogue during the levels, but it seems pretty damn impossible to do that due to the poor control scheme. I honestly don't know why the devs thought using the arrow keys for movement and then placing your other keys for dodging ulting and boosting on another section of the board was a good idea. The controls are split between two players and player 1 has the ability to one hand their controls pretty easily, but player 2 is wildly unacceptable if both players are to be given equal treatment. Player 1 uses WASD, Q, E, and Space. Player 2 uses Arrows, <, >, and ?. As player 1 you can hit all your controls while still moving in a very fluid fashion. Since this game is either meant to play with a partner and has a cozy feel, it is great for like a date night or something where you and your SO can chill out 1 hand the game while doing cozy date ♥♥♥♥. Now for player 2's perspective. You have been invited to play a cozy game and while your partner is easily, fluidly, playing their side, you are over here 2 handing your controls trying to focus on syncing your two hands movements together and looking like the sweating gamer meme. Unless they add control customization and treat both control schemes well, I cant recommend. Also to those who will say get a controller, I bought this game on sale for less than 5$ im not going out to buy a controller for 20-60$ just to play this.

i really enjoyed this game! i definitely agree with the other reviews saying that the game is pretty difficult if you play it alone, but it's certainly not impossible, and i found it fun even though i'm not usually good at these types of games. the story's fun and i really liked seeing the different conversations when you picked different combinations of guardians. the outlaw and the weapon were my favorites, but they're all fun! however, if you're a "give me all the trophies" person or someone who gets really frustrated by dying in the same fight, i would recommend not getting this unless you have a friend to play with. i had almost 40 hours on this with no luck for the more difficult trophies until i got a friend to hop on; then it only took a few hours to tackle the rest. still, the art is gorgeous, the story's fun, and it's a good time, so if you're interested, it's more than worth the price!

ITS REAL FUN GRAB A FRIEND AND PLAY! Seriously, especially during the days where we are all stuck inside, there is no better time than to link up with a friend and play a solid, challenging co op game!

Magical girls and outer space. What's not to love!

I would recommend it for good, simple fun with a friend. You can play through the co-op campaign in about 2 hours. Works pretty well via Steam Remote Play Together. It's pretty cool that the character interactions throughout the game are unique for each combination of characters that you choose. Because of this feature, I look forward to playing it again with different characters.
