The Unluckiest Man

[h1] Суета на похоронах [/h1] У Драгомира умерла жена. Пока он готовит её похороны, мужчина переживает и воспоминания, и нервотрёпку, и прямо-таки дьявольский соблазн воздать всем за обиды. Перед нами симулятор ходьбы с элементами квеста. Главный герой ходит по нескольким небольшим локациям, изучая окружение и взаимодействуя с квестовыми предметами. Также по локациям разбросаны письма и газеты. Игра короткая, максимум уйдёт полчаса, даже меньше. Но очень хорошо проработа атмосфера! Скримеры не пугают, но появляются вовремя, давая толчок к развитию истории. Музыка будто подогревает нарастающее безумие главного героя. Остальных персонажей немного и произнесут они лишь фразу-другую, но свою задачу выполняют по полной. Озвучен только рассказчик и то - на румынском. Но субтиры имеются - на английском. Текст несложный, хотя при чтении газет могут возникнуть проблемы. Единственный недостаток - расставленные повсюду тыквы - символ Хэллоина. Они выбиваются из общей атмосферы. Но в целом, интересная и приятная игра!

Wir sitzen tief in Schulden aber wollen unbedingt eine anständige Beerdigung für sie aufbringen. Aber wir scheinen nur Pech zu haben und müssen wohl zu anderen Methoden greifen [h1] Gameplay [/h1] Das Spiel ist recht kurz & Linear gehalten. Wir laufen in der Egoperspektive durch das Haus & danach durch die Stadt. Wir können mit verschiedenen Gegenständen interagieren um kleine Monologe vom Protagonisten zu lesen. Zudem können wir Notizen & Zeitungsauschnitte einsammeln um mehr Backstory zu bekommen. Die Aufgaben die man machen muss sind immer super simpel und sofort lösbar. Es gibt Rumänisches Voice Acting mit Englischen Untertiteln, hat man ja auch super selten. Nach gut 30-40 Minuten ist man dann auch durch mit dem Spiel. Die Story ist ordentlich & Grafisch sieht das Spiel sehr gut aus [h1] Pro/Contra [/h1] + Kostenlos + Story ist Ordentlich + Gute Grafik + Gute Atmosphäre + Kurz +/- Leider keine Achievements [h1] Fazit [/h1] Ich habe ja bereits das aktuell Neuste Spiel "What Have You Done Father" von diesem Entwickler gespielt und fand es Fantastisch. Dieses hier ist eines der früheren Werke aber auch schon hier zeigt sich, das der Entwickler Talent für Story Telling besitzt. Ich kann es auf jeden Fall sehr Empfehlen, es mal durchzuspielen, wenn man denn solche Story basierten Spiele mag. The effort put into creating the gorgeous environments is really high. Why ruin it with a terrible story and even worse voice acting?

Приятная игра на 1 вечер! Она не идеальная, но она бесплатная! Поэтому не вижу ни одной причины почему бы не поиграть в неё и окунуться в её мрачноватую атмосферу! - Геймплейно перед нами квест от первого лица. Общаемся с НПС изучаем окружение и переносим предметы. - Сюжет у игры приятный. Следить за происходящим интересно. - Игра озвучена на румынском языке! Это придаёт игре шарма и атмосферы, однако как оказалось это непросто слушать румынский и читать английский субтитры когда ты не являешься коренным носителем обоих языков. - На 1 прохождение уйдёт примерно 30 минут. - У игры хорошая и мрачная атмосфера, которую сильно портят разбросанные по локациям тыквы. Не знаю зачем автор расставил их везде. Мне кажется что без них игра была бы лучше. - К сожалению в игре не реализована ни одна приятная мелочь Стима. Нет ни достижений, ни карточек, ни облачных сохранений. Очень жаль. [hr][/hr] A nice game for 1 evening! It's not perfect, but it's free! So I don't see any reason why not to play it and immerse yourself in its gloomy atmosphere! - In terms of gameplay, we have a first-person quest. We communicate with NPCs, study the environment and carry objects. - The game has a nice plot. It's interesting to follow what's happening. - The game is voiced in Romanian! This gives the game charm and atmosphere, but as it turns out, it's not easy to listen to Romanian and read English subtitles when you're not a native speaker of both languages. - It will take about 30 minutes to complete 1 playthrough. - The game has a nice, gloomy atmosphere, which is greatly spoiled by the pumpkins scattered throughout the locations. I don't know why the author put them everywhere. It seems to me that the game would be better without them. - Unfortunately, the game does not have any of the nice little Steam features. There are no achievements, no cards, no cloud saves. It's a shame. This developer makes great interactive walking simulators, great story with great visuals. This is not a full game but the start of a good one.

This is the first game made by Darkania Works I've finished, and I'm left very impressed by how polished and well thought out it is for a simple premise that I instantly wishlisted all their games afterword, if this is anything to go by I'm willing to try their other projects if the same standard and more is kept. The Unluckiest Man is based in Romania, where we follow the story of a guy who lost his passion for writing after losing his wife, after which he seemingly started to lose everything, but no matter what, he wanted to honour his wife by giving her a proper burial. The only things stopping him from doing so are that he's broke, so he needed to come up with a way and scheme to earn some currency, even if it means giving up things precious to him. As I was saying, I love everything about this game, from the object interaction, the animations, the tension and the storytelling with a funny twist at the end, with the narrator. For a game this short, it is very well made and constructed that it doesn't anymore to improvement because it is already perfectly made as it is.

This game is definitely worth playing. While the gameplay isn't anything to write home about, the atmosphere, story, and just the overall vibe are very good. It was grim and dark, but it wasn't gruesome or excessively violent. A playthrough only takes 30-45 minutes, and it was not a difficult game, it's really more of an experience than an actual game. A horror walking simulator about the world's two (three?) biggest jerks. If you like old-timey spooky scares, and have a bit of free time, you should check this game out.
