Let's address the Zillo in the room, the game is OLD. It looks old, it plays old, it handles old. If you are ok with handling an outdated save system, controls and (very few) bugs, this game is for you. The squad system is unique (even by today's standards), dialogue is genuinely funny at times and the story is compelling. Technically the game is NOT CANNON, but hey... i find some stuff cool and since they don't contradict the prequels and clone wars, they are canon in my head ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. As for the difficulty, don't sweat it; i've seen people stating difficulty as a deterrent to trying the game but that is not the case. You are a born-n-bred tactical genius, don't go heads first into a fight, use your squad and remember rule 39:NEVER SAY NO TO BACTA. Final Verdict: Game is DEFINITELY worth playing for a Star Wars fan, as long as you are ok with playing an old game.
Played this game in my earlier years on the original Xbox but never finished it. Finished it on PC about 20 years later, and man, I really hope this gets revived with a remaster, and even a second game. Fantastic game that holds up well. Never forget 07.
I'm glad they killed Scorch in Bad Batch, because his AI in the final level made me want to kill him myself. This game came out in 2005 and it SHOWS. The AI is bad, the difficulty fluctuated wildly, and the game was buggy as hell. I know this is considered a classic, but I can't imagine wanting to play this in 2026 if you don't have nostalgia for it. It was a slog to get through. Multiple crashes, buggy mechanics, AI ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ itself, and the story ending is super abrupt and weird. I wouldn't buy it unless you played it as a kid, or its on a super cheap sale.
10/10 "Sir, I live in the zone." - Sev. Great game. Super unique with the squad mechanics and it works so flawlessly. Honestly some of the best AI I've seen even to this day. Will give you PTSD about Super Battle Droids.
Ey man this game is pretty cool and you should propably play it or something. Its pretty quite focused on the squad tactics so you gotta take care of your clone friends or youll get your ass kicked. The levels are also pretty simple. Open a door, shoot something, blow up something, move on, and do it all over again. Also theres only like 3 different locations you visit but you spend a whole lot of time in each one of them. I feel like Republic Commando is a bit overrated, idk, i was esxpecting more from this game because of all the praise it gets but its really cool anyways.
Another nostalgic star wars game from the early 2000's.. although the visuals look dated, it adds to the overall vibe of the game. Republic Commandos has plenty atmosphere, grit, and examples of how the clones are more than just soldiers.
One of the best star wars games of all time, definitely worth the small price and the less than great graphics.
It's fun but dated. It lacks many of the quality of life features of modern shooters and some enemies seem very "sponge-y" at times. Your weapon variety doesn't really open up until late game, and early game weapons feel like inaccurate squirt guns. There are sections where you spray impotently at enemies with literal 'deathrays' that 86 your squad in two seconds. Your squaddies have the self preservation instinct of a lemming at times. The third act is more engaging because it ameliorates some of these issues.
Downloaded the remaster mod and really liking the game. Yes graphics are dated, but its fun for the price! Never played this back in the day, but better late than never.
GOATED GAME NEED REMASTERED VERSION OR REMAKE FRFR
