This is strictly a remaster of an older game - other than improving playability in general, this remains very faithful to the original. So that means that one should be aware that the design is dated, but at least I can say that I've not run into any bugs at all. Personally, I bought as an excuse to go down memory lane, and I'd played the game when it first came out - that's probably the main reason to play the game. I'd say that Hard difficulty probably offers a good challenge for those who want one, provided you know what you're getting into. All other things being equal, the game is very short and it's hard to say that it's worth it even at 50% off (I paid CA$20 for it).

Classic game that revolutionized first person shooters. Being in the Star Wars universe is just icing on the cake.
Спору нет это легендарная и очень важная игра для звёздных войн, но ей нужен был не ремастер, а полноценный ремейк. Играть в это в наше время очень тяжело, а получать удовольствие ещё сложнее. Хоть и фанат франшизы не рекомендую.

Nightdive always does a remarkable job with remastering. BTW this game is really labirinthic. Not the best boomer shooter but I loved the atmosphere. If you like the saga you would love this. I am not a great fan though
Touched up for a modern gaming experience. Much easier on the eyes! Now remaster the other Katarn games!
I grew up playing Jedi Outcast, but never played the first games in the series - Dark forces remaster truly holds up on its own merits in 2026. Does it look and play like a game from 1995? yes, but It looks phenomenal on the port engine. The Vault content is great, including the cut Avenger ISD level. This game is reminding me of why I loved star wars games growing up. (Phenomenal on Deck as well)
