STAR WARS™: Battlefront Classic Collection

I was having so much fun reliving my childhood I passed the 2 hour mark so I can't refund this "mostly negative" reviewed game. EDIT 1: The movie scenes have been updated to 4k, but the in-game cut scenes look even worse than they did back on the PS2. EDIT 2: They did Battlefront 1 dirty by only giving it 4 achievements out of 45. I actually prefer Battlefront 1 over 2 just slightly because it's more balanced. Too bad I can't get some achievements for that. Almost all the Battlefront 2 achievements are based on reaching legendary status with every weapon, which just forces you to play as each class which you probably would never do naturally.

I had heard it was bad, but I didn't realize it was [i]this[/i] bad. Here are my thoughts... [b]Star Wars Battlefront II [/b] Star Wars Battlefront II - the 'definitive edition' [spoiler]sarcasm... obviously[/spoiler] - is a travesty. First off, I don't know why they would choose to port the console version instead of using the already existing pc version. The UI, while fine on consoles, does not translate well to a pc user experience. If they weren't going to allow crossplay why not just fix up and polish the version we already have? Secondly, the user interface looks completely jank. The text literally does not fit in some of the boxes. It is oversized, outside of the box, or sometimes even looks like it's a different font entirely. HUD elements also aren't anchored to the edge of the screen. I don't know if the HUD resolution is not set to scale with screen size or what, but that was never an issue on the base pc version. Also, the UI is not centered on the main menu. How does that happen? Graphics wise, the game looks the same, if not worse. The lighting seems off, and after playing both the original and this 'remaster' back to back the original definitely had better lighting. The map backgrounds also seem to have taken a hit, as they just look worse in this version. As for textures/models, I can definitely tell that some textures were upscaled more than others. However... I wouldn't say that the graphics are a substantial enough improvement to warrant getting this version of the game. There are dozens of mods that do the same thing, just better, for the original pc version of the game. [b]Star Wars Battlefront I [/b] Star Wars Battlefront I didn't have as many egregious issues as the sequel. I've read through the patch notes and it seems like most of the issues were ironed out. Part of me wonders if they just took the pre-existing pc game and threw it in, but after playing both the original and this "remaster" back to back the remaster is definitely worse graphically. I don't know how that's possible. [b]Should I buy this game?[/b] Definitely not, only on deep, [i]deep[/i] sale. There just aren't enough 'improvements' to warrant buying this version of the game. I would recommend checking out the Star Wars Battlefront 2 Remastered mod for the original pc version of the game, it does most of what Aspyr promised to do, but better and actually functioning.

Plays just like the originals on PS2 with better graphics and extra maps and modes. Highly Recommend.

Unfortunately it's a just poor cash grab. buy the old ones for cheaper than this bundle if you want the nostalgia trip.

Este juego es mi infancia , solo juego en single player y no he tenido ningún problema, es la misma experiencia que jugar en xbox, el soporte con mando es espectacular, lo quería jugar de esta forma desde que me pase a PC, muchas por leerme, es de los poco juegos que me gustan más que plantas contra zombies :)
