About
Hop into the driver's seat of your rocket-powered big rig as you haul cargo, scavenge for salvage and interact with an eclectic cast of star-hopping truckers in this Americana-infused journey on the ultimate open road - space!

Hi, this is Monster and Monster. Star Trucker is our tiny indie team's passion project, and we’re committed to making it the best intergalactic trucking game we can. By listening to the community, we’re working hard to improve the experience with every update. So buckle up and join us for the long haul!

Your truck is not a starship. We’ve taken typical vehicular controls then made sure zero-g momentum played a big part in maneuvers. The result is a unique driving experience that’s easy to pick up yet hard to master!
Cruise the hyper highways, taking on a variety of jobs such as fuel hungry long hauls and hazardous drop-offs to earn cash and unlock new content.
And don't forget to monitor the CB radio for chatter from fellow truckers; it's a fantastic way to uncover side gigs and stay updated on galactic gossip.

Keeping your rig runnin’ isn’t always easy. You’ll need to keep your core systems online, gravity compensator spinnin’ and hull patched to prevent your cab from leaking lung juice.
Be sure to make pre-trip shop stops for replacement parts, and consider upgrading your truck at a local garage. These improvements are vital for safely navigating volatile sectors and ensuring timely deliveries.

Use the galactic map to plan your journey and warp jumps, while keeping an eye on your fuel reserves and power levels.
Once your route is set, kick back, crank up the cab hi-fi and cruise to a selection of original songs covering starburst blues, galactic rock and asteroid infused americana. The open road is waiting!

Reviews
I'd put it neutral if I could, because I think I just don't "get" the game. I like other sim games like Euro Truck sim, American Truck sim and flight sims, but I just don't get this one. Its just driving from jump gate to jump gate in an almost straight line, replacing batteries as they run out of charge (with no way to recharge them and they're stupid expensive) and replacing other parts in the truck. The docking mechanic is quite fun though
To be blunt, the game is a bit boring, and it doesn't feel complete. Like there is a bed, but there is no function for it other than to skip a few hours. There is food and other bits, but that is only to trade between stations and not use. You have a crafting bench but can't use it. There is a lot of swings, but a lot of misses.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Really wanted to like this one. Concept drew me in but got repetitive and frustrating just two hours in. Pick up a load, drive a couple minutes to a warp portal (on the way there dodging debris), go through portal and drive a couple minutes to the drop off, spending most of the time getting the parking or portal entrance right due to the controls and physics. Can't ever go fast and drive for long distances between places. Was hoping for more of a No Mans Sky meets Euro Truck Sim kinda game.
Notice: I'm deep into a bottle while writing this review (sorry lol) and I am a retired trucker. The amount of debris in space is WAY overdone! I think that there may actuality be more debris in space then there is space in space. The NPCs will crash into to you like they are blind, docked at a shop SMASH, parked at a fuel station SMASH, and so on. Very hard to make money by trucking, best way to make money in the game salvaging I think, but the game is call SPACE TRUCKER, not Space Salvage. Very easy to lose LARGE amounts of money. Spend a couple hours making $10K, die once, -$10K, smash into space debris, -$1 to $15K, stupid NPC smashes into to you, -$1 to $15k. This isn't even taking into account the never ending maintenance costs for batteries (so many batteries all the Fing time), fuses, air filters, fuel. The "roads" suck, too cramped and they can be hard to find and if you want to go off road...well reread the first sentence. I like concept of the game, but as much as I wanted to, not the game. I liked the overall concept of the game. I liked the large debris. i likes the way the truck handles. I liked the maintenance, just not the frequency and cost of them. I liked the quest line, but the quests need money and exp rewards. I liked the shock pod thing, buy and sell for the same price even after being zapped. I loved the solar flare and truck shutters, and flying by cameras. I loved the different types of loads you can haul and that you can specialize. My suggestions: - ADD backing trailers in! WTF half of trucking is knowing how to back up with a trailer or two. Add backing trailers into docks. Add backing first trailer into second trailer to hook up, and tow trailers into third trailer to hook up. - REMOVE 90% of small debris and move the debris warning from the monitor to a hologram on the lower part of the windshield where all you can see is the hood anyway. I like the big debris areas on the maps that have them but don't put them on all the maps, it is SPACE, let it be mostly empty like it should be. - Lower cost and rate of degradation of power cells, UCC (fuses), and air filters and reduce the amount of salvage to rare with scans. Reduce or remove the cost of REPAIRS to upgrades, maybe increase the cost to get them in the first place as well as increase the cost of hull repairs by a fair bit. - Maybe limit the types of loads you can specialize in, so you can only specialize in a few types and not all of them, and maybe instead of points to unlock them, have load specialization licences cost money to take a test you have to try and pass (like real life). - Remove all quest icons unless the quest is active. - Use the holograms like you used for some of the unloading areas for the road ways. This would make them far more visible and you could enter and leave them with more ease. Separate lanes going in opposite directions and give more room for lanes going the same way. Make the road signs holograms, more visible, and more of them. Connect the roads to each other instead of just ending in the middle of nowhere. Add a holographic indicator, to replace the metal things on the side of the roads and make them green for good, red for wrong way, yellow (rare) for warning, the warning being the little robots removing debris or wrecks from the road. Add more speed limits and speed traps with increased fines for violation. - remove damage while docked, and when not in the drivers seat. Fix NPCs smashing into player like they are blind. - remove scan for weight of things in the cab, keep scan for contraband, add scan and fine for trailer overweight and truck not road worthy (too damaged?). Use the skill that allows more weight for 1000kg more trailer weight? The weight scales i have been to don't care what is in your cab (it's a weigh scale not a boarder crossing) they care about if your load is legal (not overweight and secured) and if you truck and trailer are road worthy. -Add load inspection. Load has proper documentation. Check that load is not over weight. Check load is secure, you have to exit the truck to make sure the load has enough straps and straps are tight and can tighten or add straps if needed. - Fix unloading areas so triples fit in any of them. - Fix long haul, you make more then 1k for a single hop, why the hell would you take a job for two or more hops that doesn't pay at least 1k per hop. - To balance reduced costs, increase fuel cost. Fuel is the largest cost of real life trucking by far. - Instead of points, have the special load licences cost money to take a test to try and pass, and not an easy test (like real life), for example, you have to show you can handle an over sized load. - Add adds to free radio and subscription for add free radio with monthly fee. Could even make the adds real. (DO NOT MAKE IT SO THE RADIO CAN NOT BE SHUT OFF). Remove music without radio.
This was so damn boring! So, lots to say, but I will try to organize my thoughts. Positives: The truck drives well, especially when upgraded. There's a weight to its movements. Managing the truck's systems is pretty engaging - monitoring battery and filter levels, making sure nothing breaks mid-trip. Arranging parts and goods by crates is pretty immersive. Space scenery is attractive, and space stations look appropriate. Performance is good. I have an older PC and the game ran smoothly regardless of how much was happening inside and outside of the truck. Difficulty: This is not a cozy game despite how it might appear. I think it should've been, but it's not. From the very start, money is scarce, the space is full of very collidable junk, and the repairs and spare parts are expensive. While I was able to power through, it's very possible to go broke at the very start of the game. Driving is fraught due to the aforementioned junk. Get distracted for a second, collide with a few small pieces of debris, and the repair bill will be, quite literally, astronomical. Also, you'll need to master reverse parking using a real-view camera. Fine. Whatever. I got through it. I learned to drive carefully but quickly. I looked for high-paying jobs. I made a beeline to the Sensor upgrade, looked up good salvage sectors, scoured them over and over, finding parts and sellable goods. As for docking, I learned how to dock in Orbiter. I think I can rear-dock a truck with space friction. Still, this was not relaxing. Realism-breaking issues: I know, you are driving a space truck; still. There's too much space debris. It should have collapsed on itself a long time ago. Space roads are too limited even in sectors that have them. You have shelves in your trunk, but no way to attach cargo chests to them. So everything goes flying around after each collision. Since you are driving a truck, you can't see anything from mid-screen down. On Earth, there's not much to see, but when you have to very actively navigate busy 3D space, this is inexcusable. Negatives: The economy is too tight and never lets up. Even with toughness upgrades, collisions are still expensive. You can easily waste most of the job's pay reparing the damage if you get unlucky. Jobs never really scale. Even with proper skill upgrades, a job board in the end-game sector may not yield anything that much more profitable than at the start of the game. Progressing through the game should give a feeling of getting stronger, but here you are still just scraping by. Jobs should pay a lot more as the game goes on. I mentioned collecting salvage earlier. This is almost the only way to stay afloat. and it shouldn't be. It should have been extra, a way to boost your income, not your main source of money. There's a piece of equipment found occasionally (not too rarely) that sells for as much as a good delivery job. The new Venture system just came out. It's a mess. 1 mission every, what, 2 hours. Pretty much no payoff in money or XP. Expensive options to make missions come more often, yield more XP (Venture-specific XP.) Why put a money sink into a game where you never have too much? Story missions don't pay. So you have to earn enough money outside to afford to go on a story mission and incur whatever expenses there. And all story missions are just deliveries anyways. Deliveries that tend to start on the opposite side of the map even if you follow the same character. I finished the story missions along with 2% of all players. They weren't difficult. Just mind-numbingly boring. I could keep playing for more achievements - higher levels, finishing deliveries for multiple companies, fully upgrading my truck, but I couldn't keep going. No more delivery missions for me.

I like a lot about this game, but it's not good. It's a concept that has not been fully fleshed out. You fight the game more than you play it. It suffers from multiple issues: 1. Bugs. You can soft-lock your progress and occasionally you'll get stuck in your cockpit, unable to press or do anything (saving and loading helps, but use a fresh slot). Occasionally you'll 'bump' a warp gate, which will utterly destroy your truck instantly, leaving you with zero hull and multiple breaches. I could see it make sense on really awkward angles, but this sometimes happens even when you're centered, possibly due to the containers you're hauling. 2. The truck has no translational movement, aka 'strafing'. While I'm sure this is a design choice, it also hinders and complicates the movement in the game to a degree that does it a disservice. You'll spend a lot of time docking from awkward positions and it's four times as hard to do this in a game with verticality, as it is with a truck on the ground. The fix is to have air thrusters that are only available for use without cargo, so not only is it limited, but it costs oxygen to do. 3. The drift does not feel right. It stands to reason that things drift in space, but since there's a lack of translational movement, the game has a hidden slow-down mechanic to adjust for that, which is an annoying half-measure. So if you're doing a turn, you'll continue on sideways for a while until the game slows you down artificially, because your truck does not have the thrusters to brake this movement and there's nothing you can do except plan your movement and drive according to the conditions (drive slowly). The fix, I think, is to make this artificial brake even stronger and proportional to the speed. It will make the movement more arcade-like, but it won't feel as eggregious. 4. Things just drift. When you salvage something, you come to a full stop, hop into your space suit and go outside to pick stuff up. Then you look back at your truck and all of a sudden it's 50 meters away and drifting, even though you came to a full stop. Not just that, but sometimes the items you're picking up will, on approach, just shoot off in a direction as if they waited for you to get there and then decided to leave. Also, when you open a crate in space, it starts spinning, which is realistic, except there's a person there to stabilize it as well, so it doesn't *have* to keep spinning! I don't know if all of this is a bug or intentional (as in that was the result and they didn't bother adjusting the outcome), but it's incredibly annoying. The fix is to have a full stop or park button and also for forwards/backwards to stop working when the speed hits 0, until they're de-pressed and pressed again. 5. The highways are too small and the lanes are arbitrary and invisible. I avoid the lanes because the combination of drift and a lack of thrusters makes it unnecessarily difficult to use them. 6. Ungodly amounts of debris and clutter. There are way too many rocks and they are in places where they should not be, such as anywhere near the warp gates. I get the idea, it's to incentivize using the traffic lanes, but there are too many zones where they're so dense and so close to buildings, that it does not make sense. The amount of massive spinning asteroids is also off the chart, it destroys suspension of disbelief in a lot of the zones you enter and it's especially the speed at which these are spinning that makes it look like the zone should not be inhabited or traveled at all. 7. Meaningless upgrades. Your truck gets upgraded through the story, which is okay, but that leaves all of your effort for getting cash to only be used on upkeep, incremental number upgrades and cosmetics which is horrible. I can forgive that there's only one truck and some pretty paltry DLC, since this is a very small developer team, but the upgrades are not well thought through. There should be more tangible things you can buy, such as fuel-for-power generators, solar panels, cargo-nets, magnetic locks for cargo, more cargo space, autopilot, auto-docking, additional thrusters, lateral/vertical thrusters, more 'cookie holes', more monitors, better monitors (color), automatic venting, anti-asteroid guns/rockets, deflectors and much more. Additionally being able to buy an apartment or stakes in businesses would be something else you should be able to work for. We had a game like this in 1998 called Hardwar, which did a lot of these things and better. 8. The upkeep is constant and should be mitigated by upgrades. At some points the battery and UCC swapping gets old and the upkeep cost is brutal in the beginning. 9. The cargo flying everywhere and item durability are obnoxious. Every, single, time, that you hit a rock, everything in your truck will go flying. If you pick up an item and put it down with an inch of space between it and the surface, it will take damage and there's no indication, such as a damaging sound, to let you know that you're breaking stuff by handling it. This is funny for twenty minutes and then it's a logistics nightmare as you're painstakingly putting stuff down to rearrange things in crates. There should be a HUD telling you what's in a crate or a hud on the crate itself telling you what's in it, without having to open it to check. The colors are fine to do that, but pretty much all of the ones you find in salvage are just black. 10. Resting drains your power cells/batteries and does nothing positive. You don't have to rest (unlike real truckers) and you don't get a bonus out of doing it, it *only* passes time. I'm sure something more was intended for this. Overall it feels like you're fighting the game to play it instead of having a sim to relax in. The game elements that are meant to be game play challenges, are largely pointless and stressful busywork that detract from the trucking experience. You can see where they went with these ideas, but did not manage to fully visualize the end product. If this game had been called 'Space Junker' and was a 3D rogue-lite game ala 'FTL: Faster than light' where you had to keep a rust bucket from falling apart until you made it through ten zones, it'd make a lot more sense and it wouldn't be a bad idea. As a trucking game though, it doesn't quite make sense. All in all, It's a passing grade effort, it's not a terrible game, but it's not fleshed out well enough. The positives are genuinely positive, the aesthetics are good, the music is good, the voice acting is very good, the stories are better and more fleshed out than I had expected and the truck itself is very cool. I don't actually hate maintaining a junker, but they didn't nail the experience. I bought this at half price (~13 Dollars/Euro) and it should definitely not cost more. I avoided the DLC because it's not very nice, something that I felt in general with the physical visual alternatives, though the paint jobs/types are very cool. The grills and exhausts aren't and you sort of start with some of the best looking stuff, including the paint job. If the devs turn this game around and really put effort into fulfilling some or most of its potential, I think this would be worth the full price and support through DLC.
Tedious is how I'd describe this game, you spend most of you time replacing d batteries and picking your stuff off the floor because staps don't exist. The rig is a big slippery boat that feels awful to control. The jobs pay laughably low so you'll be spending most of your money on d batteries since they run dry so fast. Oh and there's one of the most stupid design choices I've ever seen there's 2 rig heath bars one us hull for when you run into stuff and the other is subsystem which is the health of the upgrades you buy and here's the kicker it's rig based, you can fly perfectly and it still breaks and there no option to turn it off. I normally don't write reviews but this game is an exception it's not worth your time or money if you want a good trucking game there's euro and american truck sim and if you want a good space trucking game there's elite dangerous. Don't bother with this tedious frustrating game.
Not my type of game. I've played Euro Truck Simulator and other truck games since the 2000's, but this one doesn't do it for me. I don't get the point of the cramped highways in space. Should be free flying around, some kind of 3d radar somewhere and a map of the stations. Like this is very claustrophobic and confusing. The stations are a maze of pipes that you navigate towards the flashing waypoint. It is not fun to me. Elite dangerous does everything much better than this. Only part that I found enjoyable is interaction with the truck/space ship. The only good thing about the game is the maintenance of the truck, but even that one they didn't do a great job. You have to buy so many replaceable batteries. Again, what is the point? In the future they forgot to make rechargeable batteries or something? It's just stupid. Also the small can of fuel that you keep in your truck. A big space rig runs on some fuel that you can keep in a 10L can.
