This game is a fresh take on the space ARPG genre. It combines some elements of basic space shooter and of the "manage your fleet" aspect, but it's not quite either of them. It's more of a squad/party based space shooter. You control a small group of spaceships and build them up with weapons and abilities to act as roles. It's like an RPG adventure party where where you can define a tank, a DD, a healer, a sniper, a flanker, etc. It's kind of unique :) The story is quite short, but very cool. The size of the game's world is way larger than the amount of content in it, but it's definitely worth exploring. Let's I'm having my hopes to see more story content in the full release :) The only issue for me is that you can't open the inventory of all the ships at once. You can only have up to 2 inventories open at the same time. This makes you spend a lot of time on inventory management when you control 4 ships. I hope this gets improved in the full release. So, waiting for the final release :)
If you enjoy SPAZ you will Certainly like this game plus it is built with a more modern game engine
A fun Game that reminds me of SPAZ but better and more modern.

Not for me.
havent been sucked into a game quite like this one in a while. absolutely worth $15 but its currently on sale for $4.50 at the time of this review. if you're a fan of these kinds of top down 2d space games then this is a no brainer. also the soundtrack slaps
I wish there was a "neutral" option for Steam because Star Singularity is okay, I guess, but I can't recommend until it's out of Early Access. Top-down mining/combat sim where you move from system to system, fighting enemies and advancing down progression tracks. Space Pirates and Zombies except it's not finished. Specific feedback I have for the developer is: - I like: crafting and combat seem interesting enough, systems-driven which i like, and the tutorial is adequate - I dislike/friction: there isn't much reason for me to play, the introduction of features like story/codex that are immediately revealed as unfinished is not appealing, need a hook to invest into, something to differentiate this from other entries in the same genre
A solid space RPG game which is focused on the action. While currently in early access, I am having fun while playing it. The main gameplay has you flying a ship through star systems, destroying enemies, and picking up equipment/money and upgrading your mothership and fleet. You have up to 4 ships out at the same time, with the ones not being controlled handled by the AI. It has a nice exploration style as you fly around and discover new items to be used. As mentioned this review is done while the game is in early access, but there is a lot of potential out there. The developer is pretty active in the forums which is a very welcomed aspect for these kind of games. EDIT 2021/05/26 - I am currently helping out with the game. The review above was made before my involvement.

WOW This game is much better that I was thinking. It feel that there is some things to balance, but without that I am playing 2 hours and I want more :) For this price - worth it!
