About
🟥 Squares of Hell
Welcome to Hell. But forget Dante’s circles — here everything is square, mechanical, and absurdly stupid.
You are entering the Squares of Hell — puzzle rooms where every level means one sinner, one demon, and bizarre machines that make no sense… but still somehow work.
👼 In the first square, you rescue a rock angel with dragonfly wings. Yes, he shreds guitar riffs and drops sarcastic hints when your brain burns out faster than the sinner’s cigarette.
🚬 Sinner #1: he smoked so much he smoked out his whole family and the dog. Now he jumps forever at a giant cigarette he’ll never reach. Solve the puzzle, trick the demon — and let the poor guy take a puff. The smoke cloud opens the door to the next square.
🚗 Sinner #2: once a driver who drenched pedestrians with puddle water. Now he’s cursed to push a car uphill like Sisyphus, only to watch it roll back down. Your task — put the demon to sleep with caffeine and fix the car. Together, you’ll smash through to the next level.
🔊 Sinner #3: a music freak who blasted his neighbors out of the neighborhood. Now he jumps on a giant speaker until he finds peace in a suspended bed. Use a mechanical hand to tuck him in… and crash the ceiling down to reveal the exit.
And so on — every level is more absurd, every sin more petty, and every punishment more ridiculous. Ride hellish carousels, control a six-legged robot booth, trap demons in machines, and blow entire levels to hell.

Very witty and amusing puzzle game with probably my favorite hint mechanic. Good production values, notably the sound effects, animations, and hint mechanic. Not so much the controls.
Forget everything you know about traditional visions of the underworld. There are no endless circles inspired by ancient literature, no solemn judgments, and certainly no grand moral lessons waiting to be learned. Instead, welcome to the bizarre and unpredictable world of Squares of Hell, a place where every corner is angular, every punishment is absurd, and every solution requires a combination of logic, creativity, and a willingness to embrace complete nonsense. This is a realm where demons construct ridiculous machines, sinners endure strangely specific punishments, and common sense seems to have been abandoned long ago. Your journey begins within the first of many strange squares that make up this unusual version of Hell. Rather than facing terrifying monsters or apocalyptic horrors, you are introduced to one of the most unexpected companions imaginable: a rock angel carved from stone and equipped with delicate dragonfly wings. This eccentric guide serves as both mentor and commentator throughout the adventure. Armed with a sharp tongue and an endless supply of sarcastic remarks, the angel provides hints whenever puzzles become particularly frustrating. Between his cynical observations and spontaneous guitar riffs, he becomes a memorable companion whose personality helps define the tone of the entire experience. Each square introduces a new sinner whose punishment reflects the petty mistakes and irritating habits of their former life. Rather than focusing on grand crimes or epic acts of evil, the game embraces humor by centering its punishments around everyday annoyances. The first sinner serves as a perfect example. Once a relentless smoker whose habit affected everyone around him, he now spends eternity leaping toward a giant cigarette that remains forever out of reach. To help him find a brief moment of satisfaction, players must manipulate the environment, solve mechanical puzzles, and outsmart the local demon overseeing the punishment. Success rewards the sinner with a long-desired puff of smoke, while the resulting cloud reveals the path forward. As the journey continues, players encounter increasingly strange scenarios. One unfortunate soul spent his life splashing pedestrians with puddle water while driving. Now he is condemned to endlessly push a broken car uphill, only to watch it roll back down again and again. Solving this square requires more than simply repairing the vehicle. Players must find creative ways to distract and outwit the supervising demon, including using caffeine as a weapon against infernal vigilance. Once the demon is neutralized and the vehicle restored, the sinner can finally escape his absurd cycle, opening the route to the next challenge. Another square introduces a music enthusiast whose obsession with maximum volume drove his neighbors to despair. His punishment is equally ridiculous, forcing him to bounce endlessly atop an enormous speaker system. The solution involves manipulating elaborate machinery, operating giant mechanical devices, and eventually guiding the exhausted sinner toward a bizarre form of peace. What begins as a simple puzzle gradually escalates into an elaborate chain of events that culminates in environmental destruction and the unveiling of yet another route deeper into Hell. The variety of situations is one of the game's strongest features. No two squares are exactly alike, and each new area introduces fresh mechanics, machines, and puzzle concepts. Players may find themselves operating strange carnival rides, commanding unusual mechanical contraptions, trapping demons inside complex devices, or triggering large-scale destruction simply to open a door. The game constantly surprises players with unexpected scenarios that blend humor, puzzle-solving, and absurdity in equal measure. At its core, Squares of Hell is a puzzle game, but it approaches the genre with a unique sense of humor. The challenges are designed not only to test logic and observation but also to entertain through their ridiculous premises. Solutions often require players to think creatively and embrace the bizarre logic that governs this infernal world. Some puzzles encourage experimentation, while others reward careful analysis of the environment and the strange machines scattered throughout each square. The demons themselves play an important role in these challenges. Rather than serving as simple antagonists, they often become obstacles within larger puzzle systems. Outsmarting them, distracting them, trapping them, or manipulating their behavior becomes a central part of progression. This dynamic creates encounters that feel more playful than threatening while maintaining the game's distinctive comedic tone. Visually, the world embraces its unusual concept through a collection of strange environments, exaggerated machinery, and memorable character designs. Every square possesses its own identity, reflecting the personality of the sinner trapped within it and the nature of their punishment. The environments feel handcrafted to support both the narrative and puzzle mechanics, ensuring that each area remains visually distinct and mechanically engaging. Underlying all of this is a sharp sense of satire. Rather than condemning humanity's greatest sins, the game focuses on minor irritations, social annoyances, and everyday bad habits. By exaggerating these flaws into elaborate eternal punishments, it creates a world that is simultaneously humorous and strangely relatable. Players are invited to laugh at the absurdity of the situations while helping sinners achieve small victories against the bizarre systems that torment them. As the adventure progresses, the journey descends ever deeper into increasingly surreal sections of the underworld. What begins with cigarette smoke and simple machinery gradually expands into more dangerous and elaborate environments filled with lava, complex mechanisms, and increasingly eccentric punishments. Every new square builds upon the strange foundation established at the start, creating an experience that remains unpredictable from beginning to end. Squares of Hell is ultimately a puzzle adventure for players who appreciate dark humor, unconventional storytelling, and imaginative game design. It replaces traditional heroic journeys with a cynical descent through a world where helping sinners indulge their flaws is often the key to progress. Guided by a sarcastic rock angel and surrounded by ridiculous machinery, players must navigate an underworld where logic is twisted, punishments are strangely specific, and survival depends less on virtue than on the ability to think creatively in the face of complete absurdity.
