Simple, yet fantastic game. Its take on story telling is minimal but powerful. Blows me away how much it manages to tell with how little. Similarly, the gameplay, while simple at first, ends up becoming truly challenging. It is a soothing experience, along with the atmospheric music and sound effects. So if you're looking for a small game which provides the perfect mix of story telling through unique narrative, and captivating gameplay, this is the game for you!

Reminds me of Super Laser Racer (if you touch the walls with as much as a hair you just stop = no good for your time..) Great music/sounds and artistic value. I bought it on sale for 2$ and i got 2 maybe 3 hours out of it if i go in again to try and get the gold times aswell. 1$/h gametime is a ''must'' for me so i'd say not worth full price. Considering what this game is, it is horribly optimised, if at all.. My PC can put some nice graphics on the screen playing GTA V and even though it says 60FPS in this game, it stutters at points (memory-leak?) to a point where it does not accept some inputs from the controler, which of course is gameplay breaking like nothing else... This does not happen to bad if you wait a few seconds after reseting the level. THis shouldn't have to be.. I still recommend the game for all it has to offer: sound, gameplay, visuals and the sweet background story (if you still care for it by level 5 instead of getting frustrated, because you get carpal tunnel, because you cant change the controls).
CONTROLLER IS REQUIRED! Difficult game that requires timing, memory reflex, and a lot of patience if going for the gold timers. Sadly the story gets overshadowed by the difficulty of the gameplay. If you're not an achievement hunter, this game may be ideal for you. Otherwise avoid as the gold timers in Chapter 5 are brutal.
Warning : Challenging game. Second warning : I spoil the gameplay actions. Don't read if you wanna discover through the game. The game asks you to take control of a character and push on various buttons at the right time to distract/disable the obstacles. You have to guide your character in a succession of corridors at the same time as pushing A to open doors, X to distract the guards, up to disable the cameras, LT to steal keys and open chests, RT to charge a dash and B to use slow-motion. You have to use all those actions very rapidly and numerous times to finish the levels. The game is separated in 6 chapters and you unlock new actions at every chapter until chapter 5, where the last levels are a combination of everything you learned. You have to finish the levels under a given time, and once you finished the 5 levels of a chapter, you unlock the possibility to do the levels again with an harder time to beat, the golden time. I had fun with the game, it feels like you achieve something when you beat the hardest level in gold time, so it is satisfying. It's kinda short, but it was a good experience overall.
Sprinter ——
Bought it after reading some reviews and an interview with the developer. I liked the concept, and I wanted to like the game. Sadly I found the controls frustrating and I didn't enjoy the game at all, so I applied for a refund. Maybe its a better experience without a gamepad (I used a DS4) but I didn't bother to try.
I am used to play jump-and-run and other games in that near genre. I am unable to play this with Keyboard nor Steam-Controller. Hitting the right Keys or pushing specific Controller-Buttons in the right time (whenever this might be) sounds not that hard, but because of the sluggish movement of the model and the distrubingly inaccurat positioning of the Model using the JoyStick of the Controller you have to start over and over again. I got really sick of this even during the intro which is suppose to help you to start. But I've got more and more angry about it and myself as well, so I've uninstalled. It's not worth my time.
SPRINTER, developed by Light Step Games, is the type of game that lulls you in with its minimalist design, and then takes a hold of you with it's challenging levels, music, and emotional story depicted in only pictures. As you play through the game you will be asked to complete more tasks, and take on more obstacles, but the one thing that you'll always be doing is sprinting. This game is all about reaction time, rhythm, and speed. Can you get through all the levels so that you can see the whole story? Graphically I have to say that even though this game doesn't have anything that pops, there is something to be said about its very simple appearance. There's nothing to really distract the player from where they are in the level and what they have to do. Basically the only thing that has color in the levels is the background and then the areas that you have to complete/trigger something to happen. As I mentioned about the story is told through pictures, and to be a little bit more descriptive it happens in sets of 3 Polaroid pictures. The middle picture is the current event, while the outside two try to give context to the story. Throughout most of the game these pictures help add a depth to the story, and make you wonder about the three individuals that this story is based around. The controls for a game like this have to be tight, there can't be any lag, or any input issues that would take away from the game. Since there is a time limit to each level, and you have to time the pressing of buttons to complete tasks, almost to perfection, if the controls aren't working, the game would fall apart. The good thing is that for the most part these controls are spot on, my only real issue is when it comes to the sections where you have to jump over sections. For some reason that mechanic was the worst of them all, now that's not to say that it didn't work, but I felt that this was the one thing YOU HAD to get perfect otherwise it wouldn't work. Most of the other actions had a little bit of wiggle room to keep you going. I have heard that it is possible to get through the entire game in 17 minutes, but that's if you are the master of all that is this game. I personally have spent over 2 hours and still have not found the end. Have I failed on levels? You better believe it. Have I almost quit in frustration because I couldn't seem to complete a level? Absolutely, but I keep coming back. The reason I do so is that this game makes you feel like you are so close to being able to string everything together to advance, and so you rinse and repeat. Now I will admit that this game isn't for everyone, this is a very challenging game, that you're not going to be getting much relaxation out of, but in the challenge you will definitely feel accomplishment as you pass stages that at one time you thought were going to be impossible to defeat. This game definitely deserves a spot in gamer's libraries, and with that I have to say that this game gets a 9.2 out of 10.
