Splittown is our love letter to the golden age of point-and-click games. Between the sardonic humor, an eclectic soundtrack, and wonderfully crooked art, any fans of early 90s PC gaming will feel right at home. However, it's got a few more tricks up its sleeve: With a world and story that reacts to player choices, Splittown offers a familiar yet fresh take on the classic point-and-click.
Splittown embraces the absurdity and whimsy of 90s point-and-clicks, while also drawing from the rich world-building, branching narratives, and player agency of classic CRPGs. Characters you meet aren't there just to be joke dispensers; they have their own motivations, backstories, and arcs. And despite the humor, we've tried to make your actions carry real weight in a world that feels lived-in and authentic.
Every nook and cranny has been crafted with care over nearly a decade, resulting in a game world brimming with life and interactivity. Whether you’re delving into lore, engaging in unexpected side quests, or simply experimenting with the environment, you’ll find that the world reacts to your actions in surprising ways. It’s a dense and layered world, packed with achievements, collectibles, easter eggs and hidden gags.
We've set out to create a narrative filled with genuine moments of suspense, sadness, triumph, and everything in between. The world of Splittown might be absurd on the surface, but for the characters living in it, their struggles and victories are just as real.

Reviews
I don't always review the games that I play. But when I do, I do it for Splittown. Here, read an AI slop review of this great adventure game first: Splittown made me dust off my imaginary floppies and warm up my "Use everything on everything" finger. It's the kind of adventure where you interrogate a streetlamp, combine two items that have no business knowing each other, and somehow feel clever instead of scolded. The jokes land with a dry thud - the good kind, like when your dad tells one and you hate yourself for laughing. Clues are there if you read, not skim (unlike you youngsters). A little moon-logic sneaks in, but that's tradition, like manual "feelies" and saving every five minutes. Verdict: a brisk, charming throwback that remembers puzzles are punchlines. 4 out of 5 "Use key on door," and I'll be damned if that isn't still satisfying. Does this review make sense for Splittown? Not really. But I did type in all the words manually from another computer (you can see from the lack of em-dashes), so that's worth something. Right? Surely that counts. But seriously, Splittown hearkens back to the good olden days of adventure games that I so fondly remember from my childhood. Back when me and my friends smelled like a mix of teenager sweat, piss, and various other bodily odours suitable for boys coming of age. It does scratch that particular itch for me and I wholly recommend it for all to play. Sure, there is some jank here and there, but that just makes it more wholesome. And you know what the best part is? You don't even have to save manually! Disclaimer: I was offered a free beer for posting this review. You simply must buy the game as I get a free beer from every purchase. That part may not have been in the original agreement, but I have taken it upon myself to alter it so that I too may directly benefit from the millions of units sold. It's a masterpiece! NIMBY!
"Splittown". (Anmerkung: Ich habe diesen Titel geschenkt bekommen) https://youtu.be/zBfVQHVqmiI

Good stuff
It's good, but it feels like a great game lost the plot in the middle, rushed to the end, and just kind of gave up the ending. Great graphics and super creative. Just wish the whole game could have been as great as the first half.
Splittown is a love letter to the adventure games of yore, set in a world with brightly colored pixel art and impossible architecture, filled with funny situations and fairly easy puzzles, along with a couple of mechanical challenges and codes to crack that make you feel like a spy on an impossible mission without delving too deep into clichéd secret agent tropes. I enjoyed controlling Leonard Nimby for the entire six hours (including that bonus side quest), though a memorable character he is not. Neither will the story linger for long when it’s done. It certainly has its charm, but the pieces of world-building proved to be too fragmented here to really rock my own. For retro adventure fans it’ll feel like a blast from the past, though with that comes some cumbersome interface issues that modern gamers may wish had been left in the past. Either way, it’s a solidly enjoyable experience. Does it compare to the early 90s genre classics it clearly wishes to emulate? To that I can only answer: close, but missed it by that much. https://adventuregamehotspot.com/review/5369/splittown
