About
In the most distant reaches of the world, magic still exists, embodied by spirits of the land, of the sky, and of every natural thing. As the great powers of Europe stretch their colonial empires further and further, they will inevitably lay claim to a place where spirits still hold power - and when they do, the land itself will fight back alongside the islanders who live there.

Spirit Island is a cooperative settler-destruction strategy game designed by R. Eric Reuss and set in an alternate-history world around A.D. 1700. Players become different Spirits of the land, each with their own unique elemental powers, forced to defend their island home from colonizing Invaders spreading blight and destruction. Your Spirits work with the native Dahan to increase your power and drive the invading colonists from your island in this strategic area-control game.
In Spirit Island, players choose between 1-4 Spirits to control. The number of Spirits determines the size of the island:

8 different Spirits, each with 4 Power cards unique to that Spirit
36 Minor Power cards that enhance the abilities of your Spirits
22 Major Power cards with more powerful effects to devastate the Invaders
A modular island, made up of 4 balanced island boards, for a variety of layouts
Thematic island boards that reflect the canonical island and provide a new challenge
3 multi-tier Adversaries (specific Invaders) for play variety and fine-tuned challenge: Brandenburg-Prussia, England, and Sweden
4 optional Scenarios for even more play variety
15 Invader cards driving a distinctive Invader expansion system
2 Blight cards with challenging effects as the Invaders blight the Island
15 Fear cards with beneficial effects, earned as you terrify the Invaders
Every rule & interaction in the game has been carefully adapted and thoroughly tested by expert Spirit Island players, as well as the designer himself. If you’re wondering how a certain situation works in Spirit Island, this game is the ultimate rules lawyer!

Best board game I've ever played.
Scales really well in both player count and difficulty
I've rented the physical version of Spirit Island, started 5 games, ended 2, won 1 just because we misunderstood the rules. Since then I was itching to try the game again, but since I don't have the time to play the board game, the digital version is perfect. Good port, undo is reasonable, there's no overhead of performing the invaders actions. If you've played the board game at least once, going into the digital version is a breeze. 10/10.
Spirit Island is my favorite board game, and having access to an online version is clutch because I don't always feel like spending the time to get all the pieces out and put them back together. Also, it knows the rules better than I do, so it cuts some of that time consuming rule searching out. I've been enjoying increasing the difficulty too, which can be a little overwhelming to keep up with whilst playing the board game version. Overall, been loving it! Bought several DLCs too!
Super cool adaption, lovingly crafted, the game is great anyway!
Eu AMO esse jogo!! Sério, se vc curte Boardgames, e jogar solo? esse jogo é perfeito... Ainda mais agora com as expansões em promoção. A melhor parte?
Excellent game, comes with a learning curve and a lot of systems to understand. The game offers lots of configurability on difficulty and adversary style so that you can adjust the rigor to your current level and slowly ramp it up as you get more comfortable. The playable characters (spirits) all have very unique identities with thematic playstyles, and I'd advise new players to shop around and find the spirits that are most aligned with how they naturally approach the game (control, reactionary, aggressive nukers, etc). After over 200 hours between this game and it's Tabletop Simulator version I feel that I'm still learning and improving which keeps the game interesting. Play alone or with friends. My only knocks on this version over playing in Tabletop Simulator is that multiplayer can be a bit more annoying as some actions requiring waiting for the decisions of other players, and actions are serialized meaning that if one player has to undo then any actions taken by other players between the present and that action need to be reverted as well. Additionally, there are some spirits, adversaries, and power cards that are locked behind DLCs that aren't required for Tabletop. That being said, the Steam version here handles the board state and rules and is definitely the better pick for new players.
An excellent digitalized version of my favorite board game, honestly I think this is a better way to play the game in a lot of senses although there's nothing like sitting around a table in person :) Spirit Island is a cooperative deckbuilding strategy game which refreshingly has you driving colonizers out instead of being one, as powerful nature spirits protecting the island from exploitation and Blight alongside the indigenous Dahan. Gameplay involves drafting cards, careful power growth, token synergy/management, coordinating with other players, and proactive strategizing. This game will have you planning ahead and requires a decent amount of thought and focus to solve problems before they escalate. Thoroughly unique in so many ways, this is a special game that stands out from so many others that I see playing and loving for the rest of my life. I can get through games much more quickly with setup/game mechanics automated, and not having to constantly double-check the board to make sure I'm following the rules and didn't misread/miss something really makes it more enjoyable to me and lowers burnout significantly. I feel like I can focus on *playing* the actual game more and less on running the game. The extra bits of art and music help with immersion and are a nice bit of polish that I found lacking in the physical version sometimes. The game is already essentially infinitely re-playable, and the digitalization only makes it more so. Overall I'm quite please with the quality and pace of development for the game, I appreciate their model of cutting the expansions into chunks to ensure quality and testing. There is so much re-playability for each spirit and with each addition that a more thorough and gradual release schedule work excellently. I believe this game has excellent value at full price, with expansions that you don't need but certainly add significant extra content and new mechanics as well. I highly recommend this game to advanced board game lovers, and the automation adds a wonderful level of accessibility to open the board game up to a wider audience. Where I would hesitate to recommend the physical version to people without having them try it out first (nothing against the game it's just complicated and requires a lot of maintenance before/during/after the game), the digital version is far more approachable and with a lot of modular difficulty settings I feel much more comfortable recommending it to people who would play it on "easier" difficulties (I wouldn't call the game easy at any difficulty really but it can get REALLY challenging at higher difficulties).
A good, solid digital adaptation of one of the best strategy board games of all time. Doubly so as it's developed by Handelabra, who have proven themselves to be one of the few developers in the current industry that won't make you hate them. UI is, admittedly, rather clunky at times, but that's probably a necessary evil given the amount of things the game needs you to have access to at any given time.
