Shameless rip off of a good game - slay the spire. This game is utter trash. It copied all of the following from Slay the Spire: - layout - GUI - Map format - post battle rewards - elixers/potions - relics - enemy intent - upgradable cards - mini bosses - shop (and layout) - fireplaces - question marks The only thing "new" they add is instead of 3 characters to choose from, you get to choose 1 of 3 offensive types, and 1 of 3 defensive types. Technically this accounts for 9 combinations, but they don't really add much. The cards and characters aren't nearly as deep, they are just the same thing with slightly better stats. The enemies are all basically the same. The game is slow and buggy. Mine crashed right before the boss (I wanted to see if they added anything unique to the boss gameplay before I uninstalled).
complete ripoff of "slay the spire" with a reduced price compared to them to bait people here. played one run - refunding now and staying away from this dev.
This shameless rip off is not even polished enough for early access. Frequent crashes, countless bugs, completely unballanced easy steam roll. This is a bad clone is a shamless money grab.
This game is a blatant copy of Slay the Spire that in its current state is not even remotely close to being on the same level. Granted, I understand the game is still Early Access, but it completely lacks balance in terms of gameplay. Aside from that, there are plenty of very noticeable bugs ranging from trivial issues to critical blockers as well as unfinished UX and UI elements. This may be worth a play a few months down the road, but I would definitely hold off until the development team fine tunes the game. Undoubtedely, in its current state, you will find yourself comparing Spellrune to Slay the Spire (the original and premier game in this genre)... which will leave you majorly disappointed.
Don't buy this unfinished game. Slay the Spire is the same concept with good execution and balance. This game is unbalanced, easy as hell (when it works), and constantly freezing at reward screens which requires alt-f4 to close the program. Don't buy this game yet.
This is certainly a copy of slay the spire. There seem to have been too much work put into this to simply call it a cash grab but in it's current state there is no way I can recommend the game. I'll list my main issues below, 1. There doesn't seem to be any interesting synergies. One thing that makes these kind of card games fun is synergies between relics and cards (using slay the spire terminology). This game seems to have none. 2. Horrible balance issues in multiple areas. - It's just super easy to become incredibly OP - The paths the game generates are completely imbalanced (one path may have 2-3 treasures + 2-3 bonfires while the other path is mostly fights) - No real interesting cards. Just deal more damage, defend, heal or more mana or buff cards that buff the same stats. - I had easier battles later on in an act than earlier on, as in same enemies just fewer of them.. why? 3. UI is a copy of slay the spire just worse - You can't really view your cards - When you get a potion you can't replace your old ones, if you have full potion slots then you just can't take it. - You can't see what card upgrades will do before you upgrade - The UI actually locked up for me which ended my run since I couldn't do anything. In short I see one (or more) of three things being wrong with this game, 1. It's a cash grab ? 2. It's way too early for this game to release into early access, it needs a lot more work. 3. The developer has no idea what makes games like these good and just tried to copy slay the spire. I'm hoping it's number 2 because another good slay the spire like game would be nice, however I am refunding this for now as I suspect it may be number 1 / 3.
It just copy and paste "Slay the Spire", made the graphics worse and is ways to easy. All in all this game is a rip off and is really no fun to play. I really tried to give this game a chnace but it is just..... bad. with kind regards an demotivatetd gamer
Most stupid purchase of my entire existance....
Its one thing to blatently rip off a games concept almost step for step (slay the spire), but at least make sure your game works... constantly bugs out after a fight on the loot screen essentially crashing the game, no way to progress or exit other than hitting alt+F4. This game is most likely already abandoned and I reccommend staying away from this one.
It's obviously "inspired" by Slay the Spire, which is a far better game at this point. This game has potential but I can't recommend it for purchase at this time since it has too many bugs. I haven't been able to finsh a playthrough because the game has "refreshed" the map after entering a few floors. Perhaps it will be playable soon.
