About
Species: Unknown is a first-person survival horror game, playable in co-op with up to 4 players (private or public servers) or solo. You play as a mercenary sent aboard an abandoned spaceship. Your job? Execute high-risk contracts, make it out alive, and claim your reward. But keep in mind that you’re not alone. Something is hunting you…
Form a squad of up to 4 players to take on different contracts with escalating difficulty. Each mission plays differently depending on your objective, your teammates, the map and which of the 5 intelligent threats is stalking you. No one survives alone, but you can try.

Proximity Chat & Radio are available: distance matters, walls matter. Proximity Chat is bringing more tension, sometimes chaos, and unforgettable moments to your co-op sessions.

Every contract drops you into a different nightmare. Whether you're tasked with extracting a black box, capturing or eliminating an unknown threat, or even destroying the ship to prevent the creature from escaping… Each mission demands a specific strategy and none of them are easy.
The specimen is chosen procedurally from a growing roster of terrifying monsters. Each one comes with distinct behaviors, hunting patterns, strengths, and weaknesses. You’ll need to investigate your surroundings to gather vital clues and identify the threat in order to proceed smoothly (or not). Do your job and get rewarded, or die without anyone knowing.

Strategize as a group, make smart use of your tools that can turn the tide, if only for a moment:
Motion Tracker : Detect nearby movement and prepare for what's coming
Shield : Block deadly attacks and buy time for your team
Health Syringe : Heal yourself or allies in the heat of battle
Mini-Map : Navigate pitch-black corridors with real-time positional data
Guns won’t always save you. Some threats are too resistant or simply untouchable. But the right weapon, found at the right time, can help you push through or even take the creature down.

The higher the risk, the higher the reward. Completing contracts earns you credits you can use to:
Upgrade your gear
Buy new tools
Customize your appearance
Gather lore and build your own creature museum

The amount of times I've gotten jump scared by a monster or a teammate is outrageous and i love it
Insane value for $10, no need to wait for sale just get it now! Out of all the games that do this roguelike exploration extraction horror / "Lethal Company Clone," this does it the best. The ship isn't procedurally generated, instead the monster that is randomly chosen for the mission really is what mixes things up in terms of your approach. All of them have different weaknesses and ways to counter them from engaging with you, which is told to you early on. The one map offered is recycled well with three different types of contracts (modes) and allows the three distinct areas of the ship to shine. The production value on top of this, from environments to animations to character customization (limited currently but still looks leagues better than most Early Access titles). It blew my expectations for the price. It still has a long way to go for content and I'm excitedly waiting to see what they add to this already amazing foundation. I highly recommend playing now instead of waiting!

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Poland over the last 30 days: the 21 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 12 places towards #1, and the 2,501 moves with no price cut behind them went 1 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

This game is quite Unknown and contains lots of Species...
Played with a group of friends and had a blast hearing them scream as they were getting chanced.
Aliens.
yeah
Given the price and the small dev team, this is outstanding. I have not been this paranoid about noise since alien isolation. I do wish there were more gamemodes, but again, it is a small dev team. I rate it 9/10, simply cause it is one of few game's that made me question my bravery. TL:DR, if you are constipated, install this game and play solo.
很有意思的一个游戏,和朋友开黑很好玩,希望未来出更多新地图和更多样本怪~
Remarkably polished, a simple concept executed incredibly well. Every enemy feels unique and requires a different playstyle. It has genuinely scary moments, even if you should be the one with the upper hand. It is paced incredibly well. I don't know how to express how well made this is, despite saying the developers are obviously passionate and it oozes into every pour of this game. Check your corners, there is always a monster behind it, get your team together... and pray , that the idiot on the team doesn't cause untold terror. Unforgettable moments for AUD$14, Despite this game being gifted, I immediately went to buy another friend this game.
