Charts
Each storefront's own chart, in its own country — the closest public signal to sales where none is published. A country missing from a list is one we don't collect there, not one where the game doesn't chart.
No United States chart position — it charts only in the markets below.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
About
Species: Unknown is a first-person survival horror game, playable in co-op with up to 4 players (private or public servers) or solo. You play as a mercenary sent aboard an abandoned spaceship. Your job? Execute high-risk contracts, make it out alive, and claim your reward. But keep in mind that you’re not alone. Something is hunting you…
Form a squad of up to 4 players to take on different contracts with escalating difficulty. Each mission plays differently depending on your objective, your teammates, the map and which of the 5 intelligent threats is stalking you. No one survives alone, but you can try.

Proximity Chat & Radio are available: distance matters, walls matter. Proximity Chat is bringing more tension, sometimes chaos, and unforgettable moments to your co-op sessions.

Every contract drops you into a different nightmare. Whether you're tasked with extracting a black box, capturing or eliminating an unknown threat, or even destroying the ship to prevent the creature from escaping… Each mission demands a specific strategy and none of them are easy.
The specimen is chosen procedurally from a growing roster of terrifying monsters. Each one comes with distinct behaviors, hunting patterns, strengths, and weaknesses. You’ll need to investigate your surroundings to gather vital clues and identify the threat in order to proceed smoothly (or not). Do your job and get rewarded, or die without anyone knowing.

Strategize as a group, make smart use of your tools that can turn the tide, if only for a moment:
Motion Tracker : Detect nearby movement and prepare for what's coming
Shield : Block deadly attacks and buy time for your team
Health Syringe : Heal yourself or allies in the heat of battle
Mini-Map : Navigate pitch-black corridors with real-time positional data
Guns won’t always save you. Some threats are too resistant or simply untouchable. But the right weapon, found at the right time, can help you push through or even take the creature down.

The higher the risk, the higher the reward. Completing contracts earns you credits you can use to:
Upgrade your gear
Buy new tools
Customize your appearance
Gather lore and build your own creature museum

Reviews
Really fun, lots to do, good gameplay mechanics. Unfortunately the vents are really annoying if there is a species that can go in them.
This games i awesome, with updates and more levels it could be a serious game changer. Love the graphics and the aliens look insane. It’s a great experience with a good group of friends.

Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 18.86/day in the week to Jul 31 → 19.57/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,420 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Great Game alot of potential
TLDR Verdict: One of the best kept secrets in 2026 ---Transparency Statement--- I am not into shooters at all and and really against early access game. I went it against both of my normal gaming decisions for this game. ---Positives--- -Fun: The most important thing this game has for it is just plain fun. Whether the mission is short or takes a long time, you always seem to have a good time in each mission. With the combined community, you can have some good fun. Playability; This is a game you can hop on, play a couple games before work or duty, or sit for a couple hours and just play for longer sittings. You don't really get bored. -Community: This might be one the nicest, helpful communities out there. No matter whether a player is a noob or very experienced, they are so willing to help you. I had this awesome girl from Russia (sorry, didn't catch your name), literally spent over an hour walking me through missions while also let me experience the newness of it. That was a great, gaming moment. -Price: It sounds simple enough but I got this game under 9 dollars and already got 53.3 hours. I Their is a dlc you can purchase for 9,99. Performance: The performance (in-game) has b been really good. It has ran perfect for 98% of the time (see below for the other 2%) I do cap the game at 123 on my 165hz Oled monitor. It ranges from 75-97% gpu usage, Visuals. It looks good. The specimens look really good as well. While not the most beautiful game out there, it looks really good for the performance. Weapon/Ship options; I was surprised you do get a few weapon, ship, and upgrade options. For early access, that part of customization was good. ---Negatives--- Content: This is to be expected but their isn't much content here due to early access. You only have one map. I am at 53 hours right now but I had seen everything their was to be seen at the 30 hour mark and i was slow paced. Lack of character customization options: You don't get many character options. Even for early access, it's pretty thin Small Performance Issues: I have had 3 crashes in 53 hours and a few time stuttering when someone else's net is not very good but that was fixed by a reloading the game. DLC price: I know this may be subjective because this is obviously to support the developer but for what you get for the dlc price, it's a little too much. I think the developer should have priced it at 5 or 6 dollars. ---Future thoughts--- I will say I am worried about the future of pricing and extra content releases. I really hope this doesn't become a game you're going have to sink 200 dollars into to get the full content. I think a mixture of free content+ fairly price paid would be awesome With all being said, this a a huge thumbs up. I was so surprised by how much me (and my hubby) love this game. It is no doubt provided the first surprise gem of 2026 and might be the best game I played in 2026. So, if you don't mind early access and waiting for a few years for this to be totally done. Get this. It's worth it., Such a good time.
