About
Species: Unknown is a first-person survival horror game, playable in co-op with up to 4 players (private or public servers) or solo. You play as a mercenary sent aboard an abandoned spaceship. Your job? Execute high-risk contracts, make it out alive, and claim your reward. But keep in mind that you’re not alone. Something is hunting you…
Form a squad of up to 4 players to take on different contracts with escalating difficulty. Each mission plays differently depending on your objective, your teammates, the map and which of the 5 intelligent threats is stalking you. No one survives alone, but you can try.

Proximity Chat & Radio are available: distance matters, walls matter. Proximity Chat is bringing more tension, sometimes chaos, and unforgettable moments to your co-op sessions.

Every contract drops you into a different nightmare. Whether you're tasked with extracting a black box, capturing or eliminating an unknown threat, or even destroying the ship to prevent the creature from escaping… Each mission demands a specific strategy and none of them are easy.
The specimen is chosen procedurally from a growing roster of terrifying monsters. Each one comes with distinct behaviors, hunting patterns, strengths, and weaknesses. You’ll need to investigate your surroundings to gather vital clues and identify the threat in order to proceed smoothly (or not). Do your job and get rewarded, or die without anyone knowing.

Strategize as a group, make smart use of your tools that can turn the tide, if only for a moment:
Motion Tracker : Detect nearby movement and prepare for what's coming
Shield : Block deadly attacks and buy time for your team
Health Syringe : Heal yourself or allies in the heat of battle
Mini-Map : Navigate pitch-black corridors with real-time positional data
Guns won’t always save you. Some threats are too resistant or simply untouchable. But the right weapon, found at the right time, can help you push through or even take the creature down.

The higher the risk, the higher the reward. Completing contracts earns you credits you can use to:
Upgrade your gear
Buy new tools
Customize your appearance
Gather lore and build your own creature museum

Good atmosphere, the monsters all have their own thing. Really fun with friends.
good game
遊戲很好玩,新更新的保全系統有點靠邀,建議兩人以上遊玩,目前比較希望加入DLSS改善效能不然UE5真的太吃效能。

Too few observations to say whether a discount moves this store's chart at all: across the last 30 days Steam · Top Sellers · Poland has just 18 day-to-day chart moves that followed a price cut, against 2,498 that did not. We are publishing the count instead of a direction — 20 is the fewest we will draw a conclusion from, and price collection outside the United States began on 6 August 2026.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

An amazing game, can't wait to see what the future of this game holds.
Surprisingly fun game. Great loop. The upgrades are deliberate and really cool. You absolutely want to score the cash from missions to use on your character. For the price it's worth it imo. Plays smoothly and decent graphics.
PEAK needs expansion updates tho
Yeah
Firstly, let me preface this with the fact that this is one of those times where I wish I could leave a "it depends" sort of review. This was most definitely not a game for me, hence the not recommended. This isn't the type of genre I usually like to play. However, I have multiple friends who DO quite like this game. But with that being said, I'm sticking with not recommended for the time being because though this IS a game I wouldn't normally enjoy playing one way or another, there are enough glaring issues I noticed that, if addressed, would make the game far more tolerable to me were I to play again with my friends. Firstly, the game is extremely repetitive, and not in a good way. There is only one map right now, so it doesn't take too long to get used to. I HAVE heard that the devs are working on another one though, which is great. Secondly, when it comes to the "kill" missions, I feel like the aliens/monsters are way too difficult. Not only do they seem to have a ton of HP, but there is usually some sort of other gimmick involved required to kill them as well, which ramps the difficulty up even more. And to top it off, it isn't easy to figure out how close you are to having killed the thing. So on the whole, I find the kill missions incredibly frustrating and unfun. I think this could be improved upon by even something as simple as adding a clear health bar to the alien so you can at least tell when you're doing damage or not, so you aren't stuck wondering if you're messing up somewhere. I do want to end this by reiterating the fact that I have multiple friends who like this game a lot, and that probably a good chunk of my gripes are that I'm simply a more casual gamer and don't find super difficult gameplay appealing. But I also think it's worth mentioning how repetitive the missions, aliens, and map are right now. I think that, given time, the game can shape up to be significantly better, but for now, I'd rather play Phasmo if I had to pick between the two.
I like it when the aliens diddle me
Loving it, thought it is far from perfect, It is so much fun, but outside of gameplay alone, there are some minor issues that are quite noticeable. In terms of accessability options, they do offer some settings, but not the full array of customization there should be, there is no way to disable the gun's crosshair, as well as ADS zoom is super high and independent to FOV so it just feels very uncomfortable, especially for me as I increased FOV. UI and buttons; not too big, but indeedd annoying at times. in settings, pressing ESC does nothing, you gotta press BACKSPACE, its not too much, but I think it should be addressed in future updates, definetly seems like an accidental error. In terms of content, I am aware they plan to add a new map, which is great, love that, but It needs more than a new visual to keep me personally hooked, its incredibely fun, however equipment choices + cosmetics lack variety, well cosmetics dont really exist apart of suit color edit and face paint. In terms of equipment, I feel like even just adding styles\loadout types with different equipment for each would; not just make it more difficult and encourage teamwork and collaboration, but would also require adding more weapons, more support items, more freedom. For examle, a support class, lighter armor(cosmetic opportunity here), and carries a stim + ammo or something, a ranger\navigator default armor and carries minimap + pistol or AR, etc... Also, as more of a personal note to the dev, I tried many games of this type, and never encountred such a good game that catches this exact drift, this is what Alien Fireteam should have been, and I admire yall for that, truly an amazing game and I was gladly picking up the Supporter DLC (gimme me more cosmetics XD ) Keep up the good work, dont rush for a full release, this game is already good and loved, so you are definetly doing many things correctly, so simply be you, add more of what you already created <3
