SpaceNET is a non-linear retro sci-fi adventure. Less graphics, more story! Along with an amazing soundtrack and a really atmospheric soundscape, the minimalist graphics allows a deeper immersion into the story.

If you think this looks janky and unpolished... well, it's a little rough around the edges, but the gameplay itself is just great. I don't know what it is, but for some reason it really draws you in, makes you see the world of the game instead of the simple lines and shapes. Imagination at work, I guess. At its core, this is a point-and-click adventure with some open world-ness thrown into the mix. And it works! It really does. You really want to get into that building, see what's behind that door. And yes, you need to do that to complete the game. The writing is bad, but it's bad in such a way that makes my heart warm. Let me rephrase: the prose is bland but the story itself is simple and engaging. It's quite minimalistic, and makes the most of what it has. I loved this little world, I had great fun the entire time. The puzzles were simple and yet made you feel clever all the same. Remember this, when you played games to have fun? Well, this is just plain old fun. Short, satisfying, memorable. As for the flaws? The clicking is imprecise sometimes, the interface of your ship is slow and janky, flying around the planet surface is a bit of a hot mess. But in the end it's all functional and none of those things get in the way of progression and enjoyment. It's definitely a hidden gem. An unpolished one, but most certainly a gem.
A wonderful and authentic little Game. It's still got a few small spelling mistakes here and there, but that really doesn't affect the experience. I like the simple retro art style.... still manages to get across an atmospheric story.
I really enjoyed the game! The graphics are of course a matter of taste - in it's own style, everything fits very well and gives off nice, minimalistic vibes. Sound and Music fits very well, combined with the visuals it really fits well. The game itself is set in a interesting world with many places to explode - In the beginning I thought it was about escaping the prison, but I soon found out the game offers much more than that! I enjoyed the time spent so far and it's nice to enjoy the atmosphere while trying to progress (and sometimes get a bit stuck too...)
SpaceNET is a two color Point and click exploration game with a retro scanlines feel to it. The game plays out in space and is supported on a variety of platforms. Initially the game was intended for mobile, so it feels a bit "simple" for a PC game. The developer is very active and continuously improving the game. Very open to feedback - so if you have suggestions I recommend leaving them in your review or visiting the discussion forum on steam. For me the game felt a bit like it should have been in Early Access instead, and the default price tag does not really compare well against what you get for it compared to other games in the same price range. For me it feels high, but i'm a cheap Dutchman, and won't pay for most games to begin with. One of the perks of being a member of ggplayers perhaps. The game does have some charm, and it's being improved and expanded still. The tutorial, introduction and background story felt rather very basic to me, but I've got faith many improvements will be made over the next few months. There's some comedy here and there which is good - so the game isn't completely stale, but broadening the dialogue and objective logging would be very helpful in a game like this. Part of the charm of a point and click game is exploring and talking to the people around you, but that's fairly limited. Some room for improvement: - Improved graphics or modding support. - Indicators for doors / signs could use some improving. - Grammatical issues here n there. Some proofreading is needed. - If a game's graphics are not a key selling point, then the story needs to be amazing. Note: Sound runs while game is in the background - you can turn it off through the preferences however. (be sure to scroll down in the preferences). Verdict: Room for improvement, and possibly a price reduction. On overall it's a stable game with an active dev, so it gets a careful thumbs up for now. I would expect this to eventually show up on Fanatical or Indiegala.
SpaceNET is something different from any other game I played before. If you like adventure games you should try it! The minimal artwork let your imagination enjoy the immersive plot, but it provides at the same time a charming framework, which fits really good with the setting. So this is a BIG UP
The game is not bad as it looks like. Control was very difficult for me in the first moments of the game. But then you get used to it and enjoy it. Riddles make you think but all are solvable. I recommend this game
A charming, short game with minimalist design. I played the main plot through in a couple of sessions, but there is still some stuff left for 100% completion. The controls are pretty clunky, especially for movement, but once you get used to it, things become easier. The puzzles were okay. I had to look up one that did not make any sense to me (the sign), but otherwise it was a good level of challenge, without feeling too easy or frustrating. I loved the music and overall atmosphere of the game! All in all, I feel like I was well entertained for the price I paid, and I may still go back to get that 100% completion sometime! :)
What I love about SpaceNET is the room it leaves for imagination. The abstract visual style allows one to paint a world of own, in which the adventure takes place. And the adventure, reminds me of old Sierra games (without sudden deaths) mixed up with space exploration. Also, I think the music fits very well with the atmosphere. The dialogue with the other people in the game contains a nice sense of humor. Also, I have not yet finished the game, but it appears at least so far the puzzles has been logical and have not yet got stuck. Overall the game feels fresh: it has something familiar, but it bundles the concept in a fresh way. It does have a strong retro vibe, but has the features of non-linear gameplay and ability not to get stuck to leave out the frustration that can happen with games from 20 years ago. A huge recommendation for people wanting to experience space themed adventure, in which your own creativity fills out the abstract to create a truly unique experience. In the world of movies, there is something similar to Lars von Trier's Dogville with the abstractness and simplicity. Well done! Even if Steam warns about this not being compatible with my operating system, I was able to run the game just fine with Big Sur.
I have liked the game so far, but i cannot insert the disk into anything. Please help.
It may not look like it but this is a Point and Click game. The art style and delivery's a real novelty. The writing needs work but the puzzles are interesting. Exploration really drives this game. Really hoping the dev (who's not English-native) continues to work on the writing for this game.. The overarching story's interesting but the writing itself is simplistic. Even so, SpaceNET is worth checking out. The exploration's really fun and the gameplay's a real novelty.
