Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 4.29/day in the week to Sep 14 → 6.29/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Poland over the last 30 days: the 21 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 12 places towards #1, and the 2,501 moves with no price cut behind them went 1 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About
Space Engineers 2 is currently a Playable Alpha In Active Development and already lets you begin building, surviving, and colonizing the Almagest System.
You arrive in the distant Almagest System on humanity’s first large-scale colonization mission. Your ship is damaged on entry, your tools are basic, and the planets below are beautiful but unforgiving. From here, everything you build is up to you.
Explore planets, moons, asteroid rings, and dense clusters. Mine resources, construct bases and starships, complete contracts, discover Datapads, trade, expand into new sectors, and push the frontier forward alone now, and later together with friends as co-op and large-scale multiplayer arrive over the course of Early Access.
Space Engineers 2 takes everything we have learned over the past 10 years and reimagines the space engineering experience with more depth, precision, and creative freedom than ever before. Powered by our new VRAGE3 engine, creation and destruction feel better than ever.
Build ships, stations, bases, and machines. Mine asteroids, reshape terrain, carve tunnels, damage structures, and experiment in a fully destructible sandbox where engineering decisions matter.
Whether you are a veteran Space Engineer or new to the series, Space Engineers 2 gives you a growing sandbox where your creativity can shine while the game continues expanding through Early Access.
Explore the next generation of construction with the 25 cm Unified Grid System. No more large-grid vs small-grid separation: blocks fit together seamlessly, making it easier to create detailed and functional builds.
Mounting point visualization, grid lines, improved controls, and more intuitive building tools help you design, adjust, and refine your creations with greater precision.
Space Engineers 2 introduces major building improvements such as Grid Undo, copy/paste, symmetry, blueprints, Projection Building, Backpack Building, Area Welding, refined CTRL controls, and improved rotation and zoom.
These tools are designed to make engineering smoother for both newcomers and experienced players, while preserving the depth and creativity that define Space Engineers.
Take your creations to new speeds with upgraded max velocity: characters up to 310 m/s and grids up to 300 m/s. Magboots and automatic jetpack activation help you stay in control while building, exploring, and moving around large constructions, platforms, ships, and asteroids.
Mechanical systems are also expanding. Rotors and Pistons are already available in the current Alpha, with wheels, hinges, warheads, and additional engineering systems planned for future updates.
We redesigned UI/UX to make building smoother and more intuitive for both newcomers and pros, giving more freedom to bring your intricate ideas to life. VRAGE3 is being optimized throughout Early Access; performance can vary by hardware, world size, and build complexity. As Early Access progresses, you’ll be able to build bigger ships, fly more of them, and enjoy epic destruction in a truly immersive ride.
The current Alpha already includes a real sandbox survival experience. Manage power, oxygen, hydrogen, and health. Mine resources, process materials, manufacture components, build production chains, complete contracts, earn credits, discover Datapads, and begin expanding colonization across the Almagest System.
These systems are playable today, but still growing. Long-term survival progression, deeper colonization, richer economy and contracts, NPCs, campaign content, co-op, multiplayer, and many additional systems will continue arriving during Early Access.
Enjoy the beauty of space, industrial designs, planetary landscapes, and destructive engineering with next-level realism. Space Engineers 2 introduces ray-traced global illumination, realistic shadows, a new skybox, tessellated voxel materials, parallax effects for armor, volumetric clouds, and many other visual improvements that bring depth and realism to every scene.
Bring your ideas to life and share your Blueprints and Worlds with the community through Steam Workshop integration. Explore a growing collection of creations from other players, find inspiration, and discover new engineering challenges.
Space Engineers 2 also supports advanced modding through the VRAGE3 Mod HUB and Mod Editor tools, giving creators more ways to shape the future of the game.
Space Engineers 2 is available now in Playable Alpha. By joining during Early Access, you can play the current version, share feedback, report issues, and help shape the game as it grows toward full release.

mixed feelings. definitely past the "tech demo" stage, it's a solid alpha, but you can tell that the game is under construction. tl;dr get it on sale until the VS2.3 update comes out very promising, but it's different enough from SE1 in UI and controls to be a little jarring. there are no buttons or hinges yet, which is very annoying to me, but allegedly the next update (VS2.3, scheduled for late June/early July at the time of writing) will add those, as well as wheels and automation. important notes: 1. if you have an old video card the game will Not Launch because it "isn't recognized" (to be fair it had like 2GB of VRAM so it wouldn't have worked anyway) 2. they changed the flight rotation controls to be target-based (move your mouse and the ship will rotate towards the target) by default, but this can be switched back to the SE1 direct movement by a toggle button in the control panel. (tbh i prefer the new system because you'll get the best out of your gyroscopes if you let the ship handle rotation, and i don't have a lot of room on my desk) 3. there seems to be a bug with placing blocks where the hologram sometimes won't show up for some reason when you change block sizes so you can't place anything in a small area, this can be fixed by entering and exiting a cockpit or control seat

I've been super excited for the improved graphics and physics from SE1, It's been a long year waiting for the memory glitch to be handled and I've updated my review after a successful day of playing. There is still an occasional freeze and they need to optimize the memory usage unless they want their audience to fork over $1000s with this memory shortage. The survival mode currently starts you out rough with nothing but a pod that you can scrap. Outside of the occasional glitch, the game is finally playable and absolutely worth the money. I'm excited to see this get optimized better.
"It will be a great game", he said (U know hoo)
DO not get me wrong this is awesome and i love this game but its just not there yet and i understand that it is in alpha and i will wait for now i will contuine too play space engineers the first one but this one only really for building.
Really enjoy playing SE1 so far I've played a few hours of this one and it looks amazing the worlds certainly feel more alive. I cant wait until they add all the features of SE1
Well Keen has done a VERY GOOD JOB at killing the bugs and they seem to be working very fast to improve the game at warp speed. So for that I change my rating to buy it you might like it. This release is way too soon it is not close to alpha more like proof of concept. The data collection for crashes is lacking. I started SE over a decade ago and I will be dead before this game makes it to completion. Stick with SE 1 if you want to have fun. The sad state is that Steam pushes these half baked games on us gamers where developers rely on the Modding community to fix all of the issues they are too lazy to work on. I have 42 hours in SE 2 and over 3800 hours in SE 1
had to give it a rest bc i kept crying at how beautiful it is
i really like this. Im not a hardcore crafter or 1000hr SE1 guy so whats more important to me is accessibility. I hate games that just bodge on a poor UI - im looking at you X4. SE1 was a meh UI, it felt indie. ** Give the UI person a bonus for SE2. ** I really liked the UI, i knew where to go and what to do, i didn't feel confused or lost. I get to the station with no fuss and enjoyed it all. I really like the idea of a campaign mode, a good story that incorporates all the crafting and tech will be a delight when it arrives. the contracts terminal is also good, sandbox is OK but without some objectives and guidance they can become too empty. I want some go to x and do y. This feels much more like a professional product than SE1. Very much looking forward to seeing how it goes.
Early game with early game glitches but still playable and enough to enjoy for the lesser experienced engineers, like myself. Faily easy learning curve and fairly intuitive with most of the user interface.
