Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 4.29/day in the week to Sep 14 → 6.29/day in the week after.
Too few observations to say whether a discount moves this store's chart at all: across the last 30 days Steam · Top Sellers · Poland has just 18 day-to-day chart moves that followed a price cut, against 2,498 that did not. We are publishing the count instead of a direction — 20 is the fewest we will draw a conclusion from, and price collection outside the United States began on 6 August 2026.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About
Space Engineers 2 is currently a Playable Alpha In Active Development and already lets you begin building, surviving, and colonizing the Almagest System.
You arrive in the distant Almagest System on humanity’s first large-scale colonization mission. Your ship is damaged on entry, your tools are basic, and the planets below are beautiful but unforgiving. From here, everything you build is up to you.
Explore planets, moons, asteroid rings, and dense clusters. Mine resources, construct bases and starships, complete contracts, discover Datapads, trade, expand into new sectors, and push the frontier forward alone now, and later together with friends as co-op and large-scale multiplayer arrive over the course of Early Access.
Space Engineers 2 takes everything we have learned over the past 10 years and reimagines the space engineering experience with more depth, precision, and creative freedom than ever before. Powered by our new VRAGE3 engine, creation and destruction feel better than ever.
Build ships, stations, bases, and machines. Mine asteroids, reshape terrain, carve tunnels, damage structures, and experiment in a fully destructible sandbox where engineering decisions matter.
Whether you are a veteran Space Engineer or new to the series, Space Engineers 2 gives you a growing sandbox where your creativity can shine while the game continues expanding through Early Access.
Explore the next generation of construction with the 25 cm Unified Grid System. No more large-grid vs small-grid separation: blocks fit together seamlessly, making it easier to create detailed and functional builds.
Mounting point visualization, grid lines, improved controls, and more intuitive building tools help you design, adjust, and refine your creations with greater precision.
Space Engineers 2 introduces major building improvements such as Grid Undo, copy/paste, symmetry, blueprints, Projection Building, Backpack Building, Area Welding, refined CTRL controls, and improved rotation and zoom.
These tools are designed to make engineering smoother for both newcomers and experienced players, while preserving the depth and creativity that define Space Engineers.
Take your creations to new speeds with upgraded max velocity: characters up to 310 m/s and grids up to 300 m/s. Magboots and automatic jetpack activation help you stay in control while building, exploring, and moving around large constructions, platforms, ships, and asteroids.
Mechanical systems are also expanding. Rotors and Pistons are already available in the current Alpha, with wheels, hinges, warheads, and additional engineering systems planned for future updates.
We redesigned UI/UX to make building smoother and more intuitive for both newcomers and pros, giving more freedom to bring your intricate ideas to life. VRAGE3 is being optimized throughout Early Access; performance can vary by hardware, world size, and build complexity. As Early Access progresses, you’ll be able to build bigger ships, fly more of them, and enjoy epic destruction in a truly immersive ride.
The current Alpha already includes a real sandbox survival experience. Manage power, oxygen, hydrogen, and health. Mine resources, process materials, manufacture components, build production chains, complete contracts, earn credits, discover Datapads, and begin expanding colonization across the Almagest System.
These systems are playable today, but still growing. Long-term survival progression, deeper colonization, richer economy and contracts, NPCs, campaign content, co-op, multiplayer, and many additional systems will continue arriving during Early Access.
Enjoy the beauty of space, industrial designs, planetary landscapes, and destructive engineering with next-level realism. Space Engineers 2 introduces ray-traced global illumination, realistic shadows, a new skybox, tessellated voxel materials, parallax effects for armor, volumetric clouds, and many other visual improvements that bring depth and realism to every scene.
Bring your ideas to life and share your Blueprints and Worlds with the community through Steam Workshop integration. Explore a growing collection of creations from other players, find inspiration, and discover new engineering challenges.
Space Engineers 2 also supports advanced modding through the VRAGE3 Mod HUB and Mod Editor tools, giving creators more ways to shape the future of the game.

I told myself that the game was still in development, not all features from SE1 had been implemented, better let it rest for a while and come back later... after I finished the next small project. That was when I had played for 80 hours. But then I ran out of iron, so I took my mining ship out to mine more. But then my mining couldn't carry a full cargo of ore, so I designed a new ship. But then I needed more copper to build the new ship, so I flew around looking for copper. After a while, I got tired of trying to navigate my mining ship in the narrow tunnel, so I designed a mining outpost to drill for ore, so that I only need to use ship to transport the ore. But then I got stranded on a volcano after overusing fuel on a trip to search for platinum, with barely any resource, so I had to start building an outpost from scratch to survive and make the return trip. ... Just another small project and I will quit.

This game crashes on INTEL ARC A-family GPUs right at the start and the developers have no intention to fix this bug as they consider it a niche problem.
Difference with the first one ? The game is absolutely deceptive for me... i don't know why they make a 2, everything is the same as the first game with less fun... i mean, those missions could have been great, but once you've been asked to go to the station, well you can't find your way back to your first base. GPS sucks ! you cant find anything more than 8km further than you, completely loss... But it's sad to have to play 10 hours to see that this is a scam... Play the first game, it's way better than this trash....
They made a much better playthrough with a better turtorial. The last game was unplayable for me.
It is not finished but for sure a fun start.
As a world to play in, it is fun. If you haven't played the original space engineers, trying to learn by simply following the quests in the Survival scenario will be a frustrating grind. For example, you need to build a ship to get to orbit, without many clues as to how to do that. SE1 experience provides better clues.
even with a pc that doesn't meet the requirements its still incredible

SE2 is a ton of fun, in spite of the early access issues. This review is more of a description of my experience playing the SE2 alpha. You decide if it's worth your time. I'm a returning SE1 player that recently bought SE2. Even though I generally play on low graphics settings, playing SE2 is quite entertaining. For periods I can use medium graphics settings, so I have a hope that the performance issues will be fixed. Overall I am having a great time returning to Space Engineers. The cons: I have experienced several freezes when I press the settings menu. One time I waited 20 minutes until I terminated the game. At times I have had lag, for example when I was cutting up a crashed spaceship. Yet, I've been able to navigate around these issues so far. For the crashed spaceship, my lag went away once I had grinded up all of it. Yeah, I don't recommend cutting up the whole ship, it took me hours to finish with a Mk 3 grinder, and I had to excavate sections of the ship buried under the ground. The crazy endeavor gained me some 3,000 steel plates though, and I had a good time, and when the crashed ship was gone, my lag was gone. Maybe not forever gone, but the game is snappier now. I also found a fix for my freezes: sometimes when I load my saved game, the HUD no longer exists and the game freezes upon entering the settings menu. This was solved by starting a new quick-game, and then proceed to load my game. Now the HUD is back and I can enter the settings menu without problems. No freeze. These kinds of issues will always exist in a Space Engineers alpha game and I accept them. I have been playing without issues for many hours last night and today while building a new spacefaring ship equipped with two decks and an array of conveyor plumbing. Plus additional conveyors as backup in case my ship takes hits. Freezes? Sure. Lag? Sometimes. Yet I have hours of great playtime without these as well. My PC is 8 years old and I run windows 10.
