This game was under my radar for a while now and I'm grateful it got ported to steam, otherwise I wouldn't have had the chance to buy it on the now defunct Xbox Live Indie Marketplace. I've been putting it off when I got it on steam, but when I sat down to play it, I found the game to be very much enjoyable. This game is a lot like fire emblem in that you try and position your units in such a way that you don't get hurt and you deal more damage to stave off the waves of enemies rushing you down. It's all about creating choke points and making it hell for the baddies to get you. The game is a perfect mix of strategy with a bit of action, since the player has some degree of control in both laying down one of three different units and controls a wizard that can run around or use scrolls to get out of hairy situations. The game has a lot of replay value in trying to reduce the amount of summons you use to beat levels or foregoing using upgrades. I only died once on my first playthrough and it took me about an hour and 30 minutes to beat. As a short, self-contained experience the 5 dollar price point is well-worth the admission. As a game, I wish I had played it sooner. I highly recommend this game to people that want a strategy game like fire emblem or (maybe) advanced wars, but with a real-time kick.

Very nice game
2/10
very good xbox360 indie classic
i bought these back on the 360 as a teenager and loved it. its just as good all these years later.
A fun and short game (both of them). It pulls from tower defense and action/rpg, but still feels different from both of them. It's a neat blend of ingredients. The challenge rooms (unlocked after the campaign) are interesting puzzles as well. Pick it up on a sale and have a good time! Also, plays perfectly on SteamDeck.

A lot more fun than it looks. Tough screens and rewarding victories.
These games are really fun. I hope other games draw inspiration from them.
