Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
13 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.29/day in the week to Aug 14 → 1.14/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

This game is like the New Super Mario Bros. of Sonic games (which after the NSMB series first entry, ♥♥♥♥ started getting too stale and arguably neutered for certain entries), and this game really doesn't do. The physics are completely off, the lighting is atrocious, and the instrumentation of the songs is Jun Senoue trying to be "hip with the kids" despite his work on Sonic 3 & Knuckles being outstanding. This game is not that good. That being said, I find it hard to dislike it. Maybe it's my nostalgia for the mobile port of the game (which, historically, was what this game was designed for) and certain zones being better than their classic counterparts (shoutouts to Lost Labyrinth & Mad Gear). I think this game is a neat part of Sonic history, and I love it for what it is, but you're better off skipping this one if you're not nostalgically blind like I am.
Even though this is one of the weaker entries in the mainline series, Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode I is pretty much just another 2D Sonic game. Even if the physics were coded properly, it still suffers from the limited screen space problem that 2D Sonic games usually do. The level design was uninspired, the bosses were recycled just to give them an extra phase, and the overall density of content left much to be desired. The Hedgehogetry Stages were the best part of the package, but even that suffered from unpolished physics, keeping it from shining as much as it could have. I get that the whole point of the game was to essentially be a long-awaited sequel that returned the franchise to its roots, but isn't a few lazy remakes of a levels from Sonic 1 and 2 with new names kind of a stretch? Even as someone who fell out of the series after being such a massive fan of it for many years, I can see why this fell from grace shortly after a much better game came out in between episodes. Consider this one of the very few instances where the fans and I actually had a similar experience regarding the test of time for a game... minus the "forgetting about the initial positive reception" part. 13 on sale2 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 2 “not sold” markets are read from the Steam price pass of Sep 8: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price in those. The 13 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

bu oyunu oynamayın oynattırmayın yahudi işi
To say that this is a disappointment is not even a harsh word, because it is. You thought forces levels are boring? Then you are NOT prepared for Sonic 4. I'll give episode 1 this that it's a short game, so even without 100% you can complete this at least 2-3 hours. Don't get me started with the bosses. If you like or hate sonic advance bosses, well you're going to hate them even more. It gets okay up until boss 3 and further where it has a RNG pattern, so don't be surprised if you lose on your first try. The achievements are just also boring as well, the worst one by war HAS to be clearing the final without no damage, because there is the rngness to it. If you brought it from collection for the sake of generations or the adventure games, I would not recommend playing episode 1 and 2 at ALL unless you wanted to experience pain worse than 'bad' sonic games
Can't really recommend this unless you grew up loving the game when you were young like me. I still do really like Sonic the Hedgehog 4 as a whole and even somehow like this episode more than Episode 2. Do yourself a favor and wait for the game to go really cheap since it's a highway robbery that it's being way too overcharged for this asking price. Either than that, I still like the zones, music and variety of level gimics in this game and I stand by that! :3
Well, this game gets a lot of flak from most Sonic fans, but it’s not that bad. It’s not perfect, but it’s also not as bad as some people make it out to be. The music is decent and has some great tracks that work well for this game; the gameplay is average—it’s not perfect, but it’s not as bad as Sonic 2006 either. The only thing I can criticize are the special zones and stages. 1. I think the special stages are terrible—they’re based on the ones from the original Sonic 1, but they’ve added a time limit and require you to collect rings to unlock the path; it’s a change I really hate. 2. The Zones are copies of zones from other Sonic games (I really like Lost Labyrinth Zone, and it’s an improvement over the original). The rest are just copies of each other. I guess Mad Gear gets a pass because the music is good, and Splash Hill gets a pass because it’s just a recolor of Green Hill, but Casino Street seems to me like a simple copy of Casino Night from Sonic 2. This game defined my childhood, but I know it has many issues that were fixed in Sonic 4 Episode 2. Still, I have a soft spot for this game, even though it’s hated by most people… I’d say this is my guilty pleasure. Do I recommend it? If you have your own opinion, then give it a try—especially since it’s a short game that you can finish in about 5 hours. Plus, it’s cheap and sometimes on sale.
Why Sonic 4: Episode I Is the Best Game Ever There are games, there are masterpieces, and then there is Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode I. From the moment Sonic starts speeding through the first level, it becomes obvious that this isn't just another platformer—it is gaming history. The biggest strength of Sonic 4: Episode I is its incredible sense of speed. Sonic blasts through colorful environments, bouncing off springs, collecting rings, destroying enemies, and flying through loops with the kind of momentum that makes every second exciting. Few games make you feel as powerful and fast as Sonic does when everything comes together. The game also deserves praise for bringing classic Sonic gameplay into a newer era. The familiar characters, enemies, power-ups, and level design feel like a celebration of Sonic's history while adding modern touches. Seeing Sonic use the homing attack and blast through enemies gives the classic formula a fresh feeling. And then there are the boss fights. Whether you're battling familiar villains or dealing with enormous machines, the encounters provide a satisfying change of pace from the traditional platforming. They make you think, react quickly, and—most importantly—feel like Sonic. But perhaps the greatest achievement of Sonic 4: Episode I is how much personality it has. The bright visuals, energetic music, satisfying sound effects, and ridiculous amount of momentum combine into something that is simply fun to play. It doesn't need to be realistic or complicated. It just needs to make you want to keep running. Is it objectively the greatest game ever created? Probably not. But if greatness is measured by speed, nostalgia, chaos, and the sheer joy of watching a blue hedgehog launch himself through a level at impossible speeds, then Sonic 4: Episode I has a very strong case. 10/10. No notes. Gotta go fast. -Written by ChatGPT (this game is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ btw)
