One of the least interesting space games I've ever played. The campaign is lame, the missions are terrible, there really isn't much to do, and everything is over simplified. The graphics look nice for a 2012 release but that doesn't really negate the bugs, issues, and general lack of interesting content. :-(
Any space geek or astronomy lover is going to heavily enjoy this game. Story can be finished in not more than 4 hours. The game takes place in or around the orbits or atmosphere of mostly visited planets and heavenly bodies by public like UCS-1, Pluto, Triton, Neptune, Uranus, Saturn, Titan. While you will be busy saving the Solar system from an evil, don't forget to enjoy the breathtaking view of globes of all these planets, Especially the artistic impression of Neptune and Saturn just left my mouth gaped in awe. Man, for a moment, I got lost of my sense that I am actually controlling my ship on earth. I would definitely love to make a visit to Pluto, Saturn, Uranus and Titan someday. Not neptune, because its atmosphere is bit messy. I especially loved the combat system, you can use mouse - wheel to throttle and accelerate your ship up , down. The first person view of ship will put you on the boots of the commander and the thrust and sound that it produce might give your body an inertial Jerk as if you are really piloting the Ship. Just buy and you will not regret and feel the flaps of your UCS atlas wings. The best space themed game I know in existence.

Sol Exodus is a "space fighter" game that is exceedingly difficult due to enemies that move too fast / your own ship that move too slow, forcing you to rely on missiles which you only have a very limited supply. You are also often saddled with extra objectives like protecting other ships. The missiles are so slow and ponderous you wonder if you're playing a 1970's game rather than a space game. And the plot about a religious zealot organization with starships that puts the human exploration command to shame yet the exploration command was the organization tasked with finding a planet for the citizens and colonists of Earth. WHERE did these yahoos get the money? The plot made no sense, the weapons are weak and lame compared to classics like Wing Commander or Freespace, or heck, even current clones like Eterium. it's basically an indie clone with the barest of backstory. Graphics are not bad, but overall it's an also-run that were difficult to play long-term.
The biggest problem with this game is that you do basically ALWAYS the same thing. After the training, the first two missions are absolutely identical.... shoot at things while some wannabee priest screams about being god and joining the dark side because they have cookies. Good for the rist 20 minuted, the problemhere is that this continued for all of my gameplay period, so i decided to quit playing. Graphics are ok, the soundtrack is tedious and repetitive. You have only one ship which you can upgrade in term of weapon, shield and "turbo". Yes, everything already sawn, nothing new here. Said this, i simply cannot recommend this game
My game save deleted itself randomly during the campaign when I hit the continue campaign button that I had already hit 6 times before without any negative repercussions.. So, that was a fun hour. Complete waste of money lmao.
Not a bad arcade space shooter, interesting story, easy to get into, good controls. Had to google the 4K resolution fix, space flight and fights feel a bit floaty, however, well worth a few bucks! Of note, the Jamaican jungle drums during fights is something I'd expect in the next Nintendo DK game, not in space...
NOTA: 6/10
Very fun little indie pilot game
