A first look ft Slack: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wu9-sruUFo4 With seven—very different from each other—levels to complete, some have a few more items to find than others. I think this one was a delightful, cosy experience, a beautiful and colourful hand-drawn hidden object/puzzle game with a few secrets, quests and stickers. So, there is a little more to it than just spotting the item on the list. Especially the little details, such as being able to open a window/door, pet the cat, which, in my opinion, was the very best feature of the game —but that’s the cat parent in me speaking—chasing away birds,… And the lo-fi soundtrack softly humming in the background makes it a perfect game for me-time. Discovering the goodies feels so satisfying, although I do have to admit that out of all the levels, there is one item I still haven’t found. One! And I either completely overlooked it, or a hint button isn’t a thingy in this game. Not that I felt like I needed one, well, besides that one item… I also wish that under the pictures in level selection, there was a visual hint or some indication to show if we have everything, rather than having to go in and press the >> button to check. That’s just me being nitpicky for no other reason than being nitpicky. And maybe because it might be good feedback for Overlook 2, since I would love to see another one, or more scenes added to this one. Short can be good, since games shouldn’t overstay their welcome and all that, but it left me craving more, as the scenes were fun, both visually and gameplay-wise. Kero kero origami VS I wanted to show off the beautiful level colours without spoiling too much https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3607322115 https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3607321925
I would be super grateful if you could consider following me over at the following places for more first looks, reviews, recommendations, etc:

| My first looks | ~My YouTube channel. Clearly an above average hidden-object game, with puzzle adventure elements and fun extras. It has a frog level, I approve! I wish I'd found out earlier that you can mouse-over the objects for (mostly) helpful hints. I felt a bit bad about all those nice vases/jars, and
not being able to save the fairy (?)
. Possibly not so cozy for some: you find
human bones and skulls, and a toilet full of sh...
. The vibes are chill, though! Recommended if you're willing to spend a few extra bucks for a find-the-things game that stands out from the crowd.
A fun and simple game that reminded me of a much shorter version of Hidden Folks. A decent amount of fun, but definitely too short. 7/10
A marvelously lovely little game full of care and personal touches. =) Very chill, some clever stuff in there, and really just a pleasant experience overall. I played the demo during a Next Fest and had been looking forward to the full release for a long time - glad to have finally played it in full! The game is full of charming scenes, cute critters, secret stuff and wanton destruction of flora and inanimate objects (they're up to something... I'm sure of it). It goes a bit beyond a pure point-and-click hidden object game with various things that need to be done or uncovered in order to find the things you're looking for. Each level also has a checklist of things to discover other than the objects themselves. I really liked that. Reminded me of searching for all the extra stuff in Where's Waldo back in the day. I've had a very positive experience with the developer himself when I submitted bug reports and feedback. He clearly very much cares about the game and the player experience and works to sort out issues that people encounter. If you're searching for a new game to play that has hidden objects but visible charm, you've found it! I personally look forward to a sequel.
A wonderfully relaxing soundtrack and gorgeous scenery, this is such a beautiful game to get lost in. The variety of scenery and interactivity will have you wondering where the time went once you reach the end. And if the teaser is to be believed, this only chapter 1 of an amazing game. Looking forward to what is in store!
Very cute hidden object game. Much too short but I am having fun playing it.
This game is good, In fact i really like it. but I gave it a bad review because: 1.There are lots of bugs. The final mission (“chicken”) bug is not working. 2.The player can zoom around the map, but can’t zoom inside buildings or areas why? 3.Switching from full screen to windowed mode is annoying; it keeps changing back. 4.The game is too short. 5.The final point is not criticism, just my opinion: this game would be much better if it were more consistent and realistic with its story. It would be better than going into space or fantasy elements all over the place, similar to Do Not Feed the Monkeys the first game. But that’s just me.
As someone who plays a lot of games, especially hidden-object and cozy titles, Overlook completely won me over. I honestly didn’t expect it to feel this relaxing. The art style is gorgeous and has that vibe that just pulls you in, and every little area is packed with tiny details that make exploring super satisfying. What I love most is how calming it is. It’s the perfect game to play when you want something chill after a long day. The hidden objects are well placed—not frustrating, just fun—and the little creatures and characters you meet make the whole world feel alive. I found myself smiling many times just discovering small interactions. It might look simple at first, but once you start playing you realize how special it is. If you enjoy cozy games or you just want something peaceful and beautiful to unwind with, I definitely recommend Overlook. It’s a lovely experience and totally worth it.
Disappointing. For me the biggest obstacle is the audio. It comes on full volume at the start, instead of allowing the player to choose the volume level. From there, even when the music is down on zero I can still hear it. The game itself needs more work to find the right balance for the player enjoyment. Some of the objects are obtuse and the hints are useless. I think they need to go back and spend more time to find the polish of similar games and figure out what they're missing here.
