VERY FRUSTRATING 2/10
Nice game! I like the story and the atmosphere a lot. Skiing is great fun! I can definitely recommend this game.
It's super warm outside but I feel super cozy skiing around here. Played using a Quest 2.
7/10 - Enjoyable 7 game days, and total 6-7 hours to finish. It'll take an 'hour or so' to get useto the skiing mechanics. but by the 3rd day (or 3 hours) in game, you'll be having fun. the Good, Nice voice over, clean visuals, You'll get a quite work out, and enjoy it, once u get used to it. nice surprise at the end, make sure mic is 'on' in VR headset. the Bad, Slow load at 'first' game start (night sky snow falling screen, may think game halted, broke) Changing graphics setting bugged, anything above 'medium' gets texture corrupted. the Ugly, Still has bugs, but none game destroying. first avalanche dig site, fall in through. Voice transmission cut off, mix, answer bugs. Axe kept going missing. Enjoyed in Quest 3 w/ VD streamer A Surprise find, Worth it at Sale price.
I'm really enjoying this. The atmosphere is really good and it runs well for me. I love the skiing controls. It works really well and I feel like I'm skiing! Wheeeeee! I turned on all the comfort options and they're great - they work for me. I was amazed how long I could ski for without feeling ill so it must be working because normally the slightest bit of movement gives me vr sickness but I can play this for longer than other games. I love the character on the other end of the walkie talkie - really good voice acting that can go from funny to sadness easily and very believably. Having them along to help unravel the story is perfect for VR and I'm a big fan of this! I can't wait to play more. I spent a lot of time just skiing around to start with. It took me a little bit to figure out how to get up hills, but once I started making bigger gestures with my arms it worked out. Or, more like, *I* worked out! This is great exercise! Really glad I picked this game up. It's awesome and I'm enjoying it A LOT. It's innovative, atmospheric, well made, fun and interesting.
I'm usually not a fan of job simulators, but this is more a winter experience with job simulator aspects. I really enjoy being "outside" in the snow.
At first, I wasn't so sure about the premise of Snow Scout and bought the game primarily to support the developers / VR games. But I have to say, the things that happen in the game feel weirdly natural and real. Never thought I would chill in a virtual ski hut, watching virtual TV, to relax after a day of virtual outdoor work. This is an experience that only works in VR. Nice atmosphere and story is solid so far. Worth checking out.
people that do like the loneliness from experience like metroid, journey, death stranding and a bit of job simulator and may find another game here, that they could like. maybe, if you like skiing, it could be a big plus as well. as like for many indie-titels, expect good ideas but no completely bug free experience but i could play through the complete game (played build 137). new players have to survive the first ~30 minutes without giving up and learning the controls. the controls aren't perfect but you can get used to most of it with some work in the later game, maybe do the short tutorial at the beginning twice.
Great relaxing fun. Very zen. Very immersive, I feel like I've been a volunteer snowscout.
I was curious how the ski mechanics work, so I bought it and cruised around with it. I personally liked it very much but I can see how people that are new to VR might get a little motion sick at times. Lots of content here and not much to complain. It's from the same guys who made rainbow reactor which I can also recommend.
