You know it's a "good" game when the majority of the positive reviews come from OBVIOUS developer accounts. The galactic map runs like The Last Federation. But doesn't have the fun aspects of The Last Federation. If you get it for less than $1 or something, it's worth it. But if you're stuck paying the full price... don't bother.
The game quickly loses whatever novelty it has through the sheer repetitivness of its actions. Buying low and selling high quickly loses whatever enjoyment you get out of the game when the game crashes... Im not going to go into the graphics, because this game is ten years old so its fair enough. But the amount of bugs, lack of any meaningful progression, the awful GUI, and the fact that fleeing from the terribly repetitve, and long, battles is so terribly clunky it makes me wonder how the constant space war is even viable. Many of the features to the game dont seem to work well either, the game seems unfinished, which is surprising considering that the game celebrated its ten year aniversery last year. Which is ALMOST as inexcusable as the fact that the game proudly advertises the fact that there is a standalone expansion which can be YOURS for only another $9.99 and it has all these features! Every time that you close the game. Every. Time. Sure, if the game is on sale for a couple of dollars and your at a point in youre life that youre not going to think back and regret that you didnt go to McDonalds and buy a hamburger or two then go for it. The game is fun for a couple of hours before you quickly relise that there's not much else to do...

I've won this game on Steamgifts website. This is mixed sort for me. It is basically the same game as Smuglers V Invasion, but with more races. Although the game is quite simple, there is something in it that lures before the screen. I really like collecting for the better ships, leveling and skills, also quest and fighting, but last one to some degree. When you'll acquire the strongest ship, and get the most skills the game is becoming boring and predictable. Going forward is only enjoyable when played with only small time portion. The basic price tag is to high IMHO, but since I believe this one is batter then Invasion I'll recommend this title when acquired during the sale or in bundle, and such promotions are coming quite often for this title.
Tiny 3x3 inch square on my apparently gigantic 4k monitor. Completely unplayable. No options for graphics config or anything. Try to click the options change it: get a popup ad for another game. Try to start a new game: get a popup ad for another game. Try to close the game and play something else: popup ad for another game. And it also basically just looks like a ripoff of Gazillionaire 3, which I can still play fine, in full-screen mode in DosBox, so, what's up with that?
What a gem of a game..Must for any sci fi fans, Im very much enjoying this game, Im a trader and its all about buying low and selling high, Supply and demand one of the oldest business tactics, There are several archetypes to choose from. After my trading play through I plan to go and be a bounty hunter. The battle system takes some getting used to, One tip is to take your time and pay attention to everything. Just like the creator of the game says "Easy to learn difficult to master" this rings true. Im only just now mastering a few of the mechanics of the game, There is also a demo here on steam,,so at least try that and see, I say give it a go and may Smugglers V be with you.
muito bom
Too buggy. Crashes along with no autosave make you lose progress constantly. Beside that though, it's pretty cool.
So I played one of the earlier Smugglers games (Smugglers 2) that I somehow ended up with on my first pc around the mid 2000's. I loved the exploration and trading elements of what was essentially a text based game even though I was a slack-jawed pre-adolescent cretin. Now a 20-something, slack-jawed cretin, I noticed this game on sale during a weekend sale and my nostalgic fondness got the better of me. The original experience is largely intact in regards to trading and piracy. Yes, you can live out those fantasies of being a merchant king jumping from system to sytem, buying low and selling high. Alternatively, if that's not your thing you can engage in piracy against other would-be merchant kings and steal their wares, though as the saying goes "live by the sword, die by the sword." Over the course of a 15 hour game, I managed to carve out a decent set of systems where I had money and influence as a merchant king, though sadly I lost my saves and couldn't achieve my vision of galactic economic dominance. Though eventually even such lofty ambitious lose their lustre disappointly quickly as gameplay becomes almost formulaic. Smugglers 5 definitely has some glaring flaws. Lack of a narrative hurts more than it helps in the modern era, strategic inconsistencies in gameplay and the fact that the game has largely been superceeded in the genre by other titles. There is some depth to this game, but it becomes a little bit of a grind at times. But if you're one of the nostalgia suckers like me who played the original games or have a thing for text-based space exploration/trading games and Smugglers 5 is on sale, I'd definitely suggest picking it up.
I bought this game or under £2 and eel ripped of for having spent that much. Definitely don't buy it at full price, or better yet don't buy it at all.
While this game can be fun, it's had downside, it's very random chance that you would lose even you had bigger ship and good skill set, Other thing is support issues, game developer who make this game is seem no longer availability even his website is down and gone, so basic game developer had gone AWOL mysterious in last 6 year, I think he might passed away in this real life possibly, unfortunately, steam is no longer sell this game. It's was good game at a time, although.
