Playing status: finished the game, 95% completion Guide: Click here
Intro
Lilly and Sasha: Guardian Angels is the last part of the Lilly and Sasha series, an RPG Maker game about twin sisters that are trying to fight an immortal with their friends. This time, it allows you to control 7 party members in a group of 2-3 people. Pros: - Various puzzles at different difficulties to clear - Optional side quests - Touch-encounter battles Cons: - Unable to backtrack to previous areas - The money limitation can prevent you from buying the ultimate weapons Specs Intel Core i5-9300H 2.40GHz, 8GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650
Should you buy this game?
Yes. If you have played the previous Lilly and Sasha games, buy this game.

In-Depth Review

Visuals
Surprisingly, there is no noticeable improvement in the interface and menu this time. There are a lot of areas in this game though, mainly because it reuses some maps from the previous games. The reused maps have slight modifications to show signs of aging and limit you from exploring too much. There are some new locations, of course, although since you will only explore them once, I don't feel any sense of attachment to it. One thing is for sure though: they all look unique from each other.
Story
The story continues right from the second part. Those who never played the game will be confused with all the developments, especially since the recap is limited to the second game. I admit that it's been a while since I played the second game, but I didn't have any problem following the story. There aren't many details in the story at the beginning, and the pacing made the story to be digested easily. The conversations between characters become more serious, but they still provide some sort of entertainment for you to watch. Since the party will be split between 2-3 people, they won't talk much throughout their journey. They will mostly focus on their current objective which will provide more revelation and plot to the story. It's still understandable though since they need to conclude the story this time. The conclusion is done nicely at the end, with you being able to see what was happening to each character. I admit that I had some sort of attachment to them after playing for a while, so I'm glad to see how they end up being. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=590744509
The Game
Gameplay The game still tries to balance between puzzles and battles this time. As I said before, the party will be split into 2-3 people, allowing you to explore more areas at the same time. This makes it impossible to backtrack previous areas, although luckily, there is no reason to revisit them for the second time. Most key items are hidden in plain sight so you should be able to get them all on your first visit. It can be hard to collect money since enemies don't respawn. There are a lot of items that you can buy, and the money that you got won't be enough to buy them all. Those who spend a lot of money buying gears in the early game will have no money to buy the ultimate weapons because of their price. Fortunately, most enemies are not difficult so you should be able to defeat them without upgrading your equipment if you transfer your save from the previous game. Yes, you can continue your save from the previous game and keep everything except for your bank balance. I was kinda disappointed by this though since I only brought half of what my wallet allows before starting the game. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=590744637 Bosses Bosses are a thing now. Unlike the previous two games, this game finally has a few boss fights. They are tougher than normal enemies, although since I played in the easy difficulty, I can't check how difficult they are. However, normal enemies can give me more trouble than bosses because of their DoT attacks. My party member even died since the DoT triggers right after each person's turn. It seems that DoT is buffed in this game, or maybe I just realized it now because of these enemies. Puzzles It seems like the developers run out of puzzle ideas. Some puzzles look similar to other puzzles in the previous games, although they actually have different mechanics. Most of them are fairly easy compared to the first two games though. There were some that gave me trouble, but that's mostly the optional ones. I was kinda disappointed with the puzzles this time, but since the developer already cranked out a lot of unique puzzles from the first two games, I can't complain much about it. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=484190019 Length and Difficulty I finished the game in 19.1h with 95% completion. There are three difficulties in this game, and since I'm carrying my save over from the previous game, I played in the easy difficulty. The difficulty is just right for me since I was more interested in clearing the puzzles rather than battling the enemies. Part of my playtime was spent in making a guide though, so it can be finished way shorter than that. The last 5% completion might have been bugged since the statistic says that I haven't finished 2 main quests before defeating the final boss. Problems There are some objects that transformed into other objects when you interacted with them. I didn't find major issues except for one occasion when I got softlocked, but that's because I was alt-tabbing more than I shouldn't be. The game uses the alt button to trigger an action, and it suddenly registered it when I wanted to alt-tab. I didn't find any issues after that.
Conclusion
Lilly and Sasha: Guardian Angels provides a nice conclusion to the Lilly and Sasha series. The story is more serious this time, giving more story to the plot to reach the conclusion. However, it still manages to maintain its cheerful attire with some dialogues. There are some features that feel like a downgrade from the previous games, but it's more because I expected more of the game due to my experience from playing the second game. At the end of the day, Lilly and Sasha: Guardian Angels still provide hours of entertainment, and I enjoyed everything that it has to offer. I could recommend people to buy it, but only if they have played the previous games - the story won't make sense otherwise. I have just finished the game - and thus the series - and I would like to express my sadness that I will never EVER again be able to play it for the first time. Guardian Angels were buggy, didn't allow to go back to once finished areas (in opposite to the previous parts) and thus presented troubles with earning money at some point, so I couldn't get 100% progress. Some puzzles were awfully hard to my mind so I peeked in the guide a couple of times. Balyang area threw me off, some of the stuff I got there - /also/ as a prize - was useless for me when I finally got back to move with the story. But then again... It was a closure. I finished, with light heart, the Lilly and Sasha series. I didn't know how to feel about that at first. I mean, the bugs destroyed completely the remnants of the perfect image I had after the Curse of the Immortals. And I would probably regret playing it if it weren't for the last cutscene. It made me smile honestly that it was over. Not thank-the-gods-it's-over smile. Rather goodbye-my-lovely-courageous-heroes. It was an adventure that I won't forget. In my opinion, it's perfect for beginner players in general. Got time? Play it. But what mattered to me the most it's that it's about sisters. As a firstborn and older sister I bonded with Lilly and Sasha in a special way that not many might understand. There's not a lot of games that I know of, that would speak of the sacrifice that a sister would do for a sister. I would go through hell for my sister. And I would too go in the afterlife to get my sister back. [strike]EVEN if it means getting cool-ass costumes and powers[/strike]
just finished... i don't know where to start. this one was a huge let down. the game play was, well, just boring. it was quite a bit diffrent from the first two games. i do wish there were instructions in the game itself and not just from using the guide. i didn't realize that the end of the game was directly after fighting Zahhak, regardless of what percentage of the game you had finished. had there been some helpful info in the game itself, about what to do and when, i might have finished more than 40% of the game. i realize i can go back to a save point to do more quests, but what's the point, really...? i mean, i beat the bad guy, so for me, it's done. i hated the way it ended. and i disliked the team being split up all through the game till the end. i am just really disappointed in this one. i also want to point out the limited amount of cash one can get from the battles, it wasn't enough to buy all the better items. instead of having all those bottles of healing lying around that aren't needed, how about throwing in large piles of cash? also, why is there no place to sell the items that are no longer needed? like the lesser weapons, trinkets and extra healing potions? i had over 70 healing potions just sitting in my inventory that were never needed. (including all the huge potions.)
Lilly and Sasha: Guardian Angels is part 3 of a trilogy of adventure RPGs made in RPG Maker. While the first two installments stand alone quite well, this game in particular has a story which won't make much sense without playing both of the prequels. There are 17 hours of gameplay in the main adventure, and all the side quests are found together in one megatown which, due to events from the story, replaces all of the smaller towns from the previous games. Side quests apparently make up 50% of the playable content. The plot is set up quite differently from the first two games. Instead of staying together in one party, the eight playable characters from before plus one more are, for the most part, fractured into groups of two, each doing their part in the greater mission. Character development is much improved from the previous installments, and the story follows you every step of the way, as the game takes you from party to party, each completing their own quests in a linear fashion. Enemies appear on the map, and are easy to avoid, but you may need to fight some of them to level up. Battles are the same as in part 1. Each character has a basic move, a strong move, a status-type move, and a team move with each of the other party members. Each of the two main moves may have a rune attached, and each character may carry two trinkets which enhance their abilities. Previously acquired pets are still with you, and you may choose two of these to help you during battles. Each pet will have its own way to assist the party. Weapons are equipped automatically, and upgrades for each character are found in treasure chests along the way. There is a large megatown to explore, with shops, along with puzzles and other challenges. You are granted access to more sections of the town as you progress through the game. You may visit this town at any time through a pocket teleporter, and return to the same spot you left, when you are finished. The cutscenes are more frequent and more interesting than previous installments, and the ending is very good, and provides closure to the series. The puzzles are more difficult than in part 2, and sometimes require a lot of thinking and figuring. There are quite a few annoyances in this area, including monsters that must be re-killed if you restart the puzzle, and several puzzles that have no explanation or obvious function. Overall, this game is the best of the trilogy, especially in terms of the story, both visually, and in writing, and it provides a great wrapup to the series, although the puzzles were more annoying at times.
It continues the story from where its predecessor left. If you are reading this, you probably know that it is the third part. Well, if the second part lef you curious about what happens, then you should really buy this. There is also a bundle with the three games, adjustable to if you own any of the other ones, that also makes the games way more cheap. They also are pretty cheap overall, specially in sales. It is a bit tricky to make this one also run, specially if you're using W10, without any lag. You have to use the compatibility with windows xp mode. I don't have much to say, for its price I think the series should be granted, the story of the previous one actually finished at a really cliffhanger point and you should finish to see where things go. Just bear with the beginning, that can be way too slow to catch up.
The characters are fun and well-written (Lilly and Sasha have great chemistry), the dialogue is genuinely funny, and the story has some really emotional moments. Combat is classic turn-based but feels satisfying, and the puzzles are smart without being annoying.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
In the final chapter of Lilly and Sasha... Sasha has died and her soul judged unworthy. Lilly has followed her into the underworld to try and save her one more time... And Griffin and Dak are left to try and deal with the threat of Zahhak... who just possessed the body of a demon... great. More fun puzzles and gameplay await.
