Small Saga

A short campaign but fun to play regardless. Art is awesome, animations are superb. Worldbuilding is colorful, like a medieval world built by critters... ...up until the point where you fight squirrels who are literally nazis, leaving all medieval-fantasy aspects behind. Using phrases like "Your logic is flawed" and how they "hate queer folk" and the entire dialogue seems to turn into the writer ranting about their twitter feed. The game not-so-subtly whispers the writers barely disguised politics into your ear, it wouldn't be too bad if it weren't for the fact that it doesn't make sense consistent to the worldbuilding. I probably wouldn't have bought this if I did more research beforehand.

This game is a work of art. I truly mean that. The story is fantastic. The writing of the characters is top notch. I am crossing my fingers we get a sequel. I feel myself getting close to the end which I have to admit is making me so sad. Every once in a while you come across a game that genuinely special. This game is one of them. Get it. SPOILER TO AVOID MAJOR POTENTIAL BUG I'm going to try to avoid giving any spoilers here but also help avoid a major bug. At one point you're in a large tree base controlling a single character no one else in your party. You have a chance to go up stairs and follow 2 characters (which is what you're supposed to do) they tell you to follow. But if you're like me you see the name of a location mentioned in dialogue a little before this and think that's where you're supposed to go. So I left the area and fast travel to the new location(the game lets you). If you save at this new location is screws up your save file. If you talk to any of the main quest characters in this new town the game will lock up. It's like the game thinks you completed several quests you haven't actually done yet, and since you don't have the characters in your party needed to make the scenes move forward it doesn't know what to do. if you overwrite all of your saves here you essentially ruin your plathrough. It's very easy to avoid. Just don't leave the tree. Follow the characters up the stairs and you're good. Don't fast travel out before you're ready.

Absolutely amazing game <3 Can't recommend it enough!!

TLDR You play as mouse Guts from Berserk and the final boss is Dale Gribble I liked this game a lot I would like a sequel with the same assets and a higher difficulty, but it is a fun short game.

Fair warning: achievements are listed, but not implemented in the game. If you care about those, be warned. That being said, I truly think you should play this game. It has a well written story, supported by the gameplay in clever ways. I never struggled, Small Saga is not a hard game, but it doesn't need to be. Cool story, cool mechanics, what else can I say?
