Time is a storyteller, as well as a ground for each story to take shape, for the characters within it to make decisions, each unlocking a different path. Each decision comes at the cost of time that cannot be turned back, choices that cannot be made anew, and some paths that will remain forever sealed off. About this particular story the player learns from research drones, which are scattered across the entirety of Rainbow Island. They gradually guide the player to discover new technologies, areas, and eventually lead to a grand conclusion that will not fail to bring tears to the most tough players. For the enjoyers of the original game- I cannot recommend its sequel enough. The moment I opened Slime Rancher 2 I immediately felt all the nostalgia but was soon overtaken with awe and amazement from all the love that was put into this game, with all its detailed and vibrant areas, intricate puzzles, and adorable new slimes. There are five main areas, which are also all connected with unlockable via puzzles portals, ten new slimes which are all very different from each other, brilliant and colourful, like the areas they inhabit. Naturally, there is new food and resources too (which in SL2 can be all found across the map), but also an entirely new weather system and a multitude of helpful and whimsical gadgets, and decorations that will brighten up your ranch. The gameplay is adorned with a touching story, well-put together, introducing a character the player can sympathise with and whose story unravels gradually to its bittersweet but hopeful conclusion. 11/10 stars:)
