An uneven, but surprisingly good platformer with a lot of heart. The music was a real standout. Really enjoyed it and Terry was a very lovable character!
Visually it looks actually pretty good but all the budget went into it. The jumping is very inconsistent and I die all over the place simply because the jump decided it will only let me jump half an inch falling to my death into water or other hazards and this never stopped. The narration gets old FAST. Landing on lily pads is remarkably inconsistent as well. You will land on the edge and the game counts you as in the water and on the lily pad but is still killing you and even at times phasing you straight through it into the water even when landing dead center. This things needs serious patch work all over to stop bugs and glitches and getting permanently stuck in spots all over the place that I have to reload checkpoint for. May give 1 more try on the future.

Skully feels like what happens when devs ask themselves “how do we turn chocolate mint ice-cream into a game?” There is almost not a single aspect of this game that is not designed to be as refreshing as physically possible. The physics, rolling speed, and level designs are as smooth as velvety butter, the lighting and visual value of the game feels like heaven’s tropical resort, the characters, their chemistry, their design, and even their dialogue is absolutely lovable, and if there’s a word for “the act that’s between running, skipping and flying, that you do across a horizon of adventure”, I’d use it to describe the Skully soundtrack. Also, the story and its plot twists leave nothing to be desired, and the ending was bold in all the best ways. Ironically, what I hated the most is the very game mechanic that the devs probably pushed for the most: the golems/mechs. I’m not even saying they’re badly implemented: I simply wished they never existed at all. They interfere with the aforementioned velvety butter smooth flow and speed, and every time I had to use one, I couldn’t wait to ditch it to go back to the speed flow. I can almost imagine the devs sitting in the design room, deciding to add them to make sure the gameplay doesn’t go stale. Why? It wasn’t stale. It was the complete opposite of stale. There was not a hint of staleness in it. So, what’s the lesson, boys and girls and everything in-between? Less IS more, most of the time. Be confident with what you make. All in all, I only rated this game “positive” because that’s the only option Steam gives me. My actual rating is “(almost) Perfect.” [strike]Also, not a single character is not shippable with every other character, and yes, I HOPE Skully watches.[/strike]
It's so underrated that it's confusing! Actually it may not be "-rated" at all. It's an invisible good game.

I really wanted to like this game but I just don't. It's too pricey for what it is and I feel like controlling all of these "mud golems" or whatever they're called, kind of just takes away from the fun part of the game (rolling around as a little skull), not to mention they don't feel fun to play as either. I know this isn't really in-depth, but they're the main gripes I had with the game.
