Pretty weak flash RPG. The combat seemed lame and bored me quickly. The art style is ... not great. It all just feels low quality for a 2014 title. Hard pass.
Very shallow gameplay and content, even free it ain't worth your time. Everything from gameplay to graphics screams flash game about it. It pretty much revolves around preparing spells before you enter a battle, and that is pretty much all the challenge because you have no control of anything during the battle. It might be ok if you like to micro manage stuff before battles, but even so this game offers way too little even for someone who enjoys that.
As many other reviews have stated this game is fun for maybe the first hour before it turns into a miserable grindfest. If you don't want to spend hours basically clicking next until you eventually beat the game and finish the achievements then I would avoid this game.
I don't remember anything about this game except that it was a massive grind. That said, apparently you can complete it in under 12 hours...
was really looking forward to this game https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3016607748 and it only gets worse
In Skilltree Saga, you grind auto-battles in a couple different areas. Enemies drop loot/gold and give experience for you to get stronger between grinds. The "roguelike elements" aren't really present at all - if you die, you keep all your gold only losing the loot you picked up. You use experience to purchase/upgrade various skills, some of which were pretty interesting and useful. I've used the word grind a couple times now because that's the word that best describes this game - a highly repetitive grind. And it very quickly becomes a grind. For instance, when I got far enough in the first area the game prompted me saying I was now powerful enough to check out the second area. I was only able to get through the first couple enemies there, and had to go back to the first area and grind for quite a while. There are three areas: one with 30 levels, the next with 60, and the final with 100. You have to upgrade your character to where they can complete each of these in one run. One word: grind... and not the enjoyable kind.
This game needs UX improvements and needs badly. Very inconvenient inventory management. Savegames management which can accidentally destroy your primary save. These two being worst offenders. That's a nice game for an evening or so, especially if you're planning to proceed to Slay the Spire clones afterwards. Just don't expect anything spectacular.
Hail to the Avatar, Baby.
