good fun game, if you don't mind it beeing a bit unbelievable most of these games contain things that can't be real but at least those feel liek they could be true within their own world. this game however gives the impression of happening in real life but it seems the writer forgot what life was like when he/she was in sixth grade but besides that it has a good writting style, and although mostly i found out what was going on before my character did, it had some nice twists to the plot and made you work to make your character figure out the truth, and most importantly it featured some nice morale choices that really give the impression they could affect the rest of the game
As far as text-based games go, it's really good. I like the options and the story progression. Definitely worth playing more than once.
a sweet game, almost like playing through a Nancy Drew book, if Nancy Drew occasionally joined gangs or stole money or broke into people's phones or used blackmail. Doesn't pull any punches when it comes to how ruthless middle schoolers are, as well as how lonely. Also, you get to play fake DnD inside of the game, which is pretty sweet.
Absolutely adored this title! Brought back fond memories of reading Nancy Drew as a child, specifically the Nancy Drew Notebook series. Perfect for kids and adults, though, and could be a fun play with the middle-schooler in your life! I hope Choice of Games continues to put out games for the younger set. Some of the dialogue, however, seems a bit mature for a 6th grader to be using, but it doesn't detract in any way from the story once you're really into it. I just happened to be playing and reviewing it at the same time is why I noticed.
Very awesome, wholesome and funny. Totally recommend it.
Cute little game. The characters are likable and the MC is oozing with personality. Not much of a detective game really, the mysteries are very simple and don't require much thought, but they work well for the setting of the game and the age of the characters
it is good
amazing
Sixth Grade Detective is another text-based game along the lines of Choice of Robots, utilizing the same game engine–so no music or visuals, just a story that your choices influence, powered largely by your own imagination. I really love the concept and have greatly enjoyed other games in this vein. This particular one is pretty decent, although generally a bit simplistic. The mysteries aren’t particularly hard, and although your choices certainly influence how the game progresses, there isn’t so much of a branching plotline as in, say, Choice of Robots. You get more choices as to what your attitudes towards events and authority are, what kind of relationships you’re going to build, who you take to the dance . . . that sort of thing. Not a ton of replay value, though. I do have to say that this would make a great introduction to this sort of game for a younger player; I mean, the main character is a middle-schooler, the story’s generally fairly clean, and the challenge level is approachable for a beginner. So yes, Sixth Grade Detective wasn’t my favorite of this game set, but it was interesting and would be a good choice for kids.
