This is the sort of game where I feel the flaws betray inexperience with the developer, but the gameplay and design show that they 'get it'. The dev gets how they want this gameplay to feel, and succeed at it for the most part. I feel like this game took some pointers from the old Warframe, and put their spin on it. There's no jump, but there's still some verticality and drops. Your positioning matters, but you can quickly relocate if need be. Stylistically, I feel like the Sniper's suit (the starting character) has some Excalibur/Hayden Tenno vibes. Powers wise it's all also kind of out there. Slowmo, cone attack, teleport behind enemy, etc. Every character only gets two skills and one weapon alt fire, but they feel significantly different from one another. That's honestly what this is going to boil down to for you as well, prospective purchaser. Is a grounded-yet-speedy playstyle in third person something that resonates with you? Does having basically two combo meters irk or excite you? One powers you up the longer you go without getting hit, the other is a more basic combo kill meter that some passive pickups can play onto to determine their strength for your run. Oh yeah, run! This game's a Roguelite. I don't feel it benefits much from it, but isn't hurt too much by it either. The game's not terribly long. Three (?) large areas with some bosses strewn in there. A plot that is paperthin and barely present, so it doesn't really get in your way either. The voice acting is adorable for how inexperienced it is, and, for how little there is present, is really inoffensive. It does have its bugs though. Small things that speak of inexperience. The Sniper's slowmo doesn't just get cancelled on a dodge for me, it seems to inverse it into a speed up for a split second? I think what's happening is that the engine slowmo gets set back to normal, but my raised speed (that's responsible for me moving quicker in slowmo) doesn't for a second or so after, leading to me speeding about for a short while. It's really not that bad and not too hard to work around, but it's a telling bug, you know? Is this game good? Well, to me, it sets out what it wanted to do and succeeded at that. Short, roguelite, guns feel good enough, story is inoffensive and barely present, priced incredibly fairly. I did five runs total. Three with the sniper to beat the game, and two more failed ones with pistolero-girl and the tanky-taurus. I don't know how much game you'll get with the demo, but it's there for you to try. If the demo gives you roughly the first fifteen minutes of the game, you're going to very quickly understand the vibe and speed of the gameplay. Judge based on that whether this sort of speedy-grounded combat style suits you, because I can understand it's not for everybody. That said, dev, I need to know: Did you guys take some of your gameplay after the old Warframe? Or am I going insane? Whichever the case, for how rough around the edges it is, this game succeeds at what it set out to do, and therefor is nothing short of a success, even if it's rather short. And honestly? 7GB for a game you can keep installed for a casual run once in a while, that's good space management.
Good game, feels like a great potential, but looks like it will only stay a potential :/
for a simple game it's actually really fun 10/10, it does give heatstroke to me and my pc though with how hot it can make a pc burn. Best to lower settings and play the game in window and not full screen.
