great game, just a little laggy on my setup so i have to stick to low quality. but overall? amazing game, very realistic.

I have a lot of train simulators, but previously when I tested the demo on my GTX1660, it was stuttering a lot. Now I have read that they optimized the texture loading, so I gave it a try and purchased it during summer sale. Comparing to TSW6 the locomotives are more detailed, more knobs, buttons and MFD work in Simrail locos, and this game is more a study level simulator, where you have to be more vigilant, not just watch the scenery. By the way I also like the Central European scenery better. Regarding tutorials, they have a few, but do not cover all trains. They have a wiki page, but I have not found driver's manual there. Unfortunately default performance is not good. On my GTX1660 even with lower or medium settings, fps dropped to 30-40, so after some experimentation I set vsync=off with capped 30fps and no upscaling method in Simrail and I generate extra frames with Lossless scaling adaptively targeting 60fps with vsync in LSG. This way GPU temperature remains under 60C, and I get fluid gameplay with grass and full vegetation density. Regarding variety: base game comes with 2 EMU, 2 electic freight locomotive, 2 retro electric locomotive and a steam locomotive. DLC-s have additional 3 locomotives. No diesel locos, only one freight has some diesel engine as well. Actually after seeing if base product works, I also bought the 2 additional Polish routes and the Impuls2 DLC in one bundle.

I was really looking forward to this game but it ended up being a second game I had to request a refund and here is why: Tutorial is so bad and buggy that I had to restart the scenario two times only to get softlocked on an infinite red light later. And before you think that I am an idiot, I followed the guidance step by step slowly—twice. I did not interact with anything I wasn't supposed to. But a button would work once, and then it wouldn't. I also got a penalty for driving with open doors when they were clearly closed. Like, how is this game so broken? And all of this happened in the first tutorial! When I tried a normal route, I wasn't even able to start the train. The game simply did not tell me anything. The controls are super weird too. In order to look around, you have to hold RMB. The game feels like a point-and-click adventure game when you are walking. Everything you interact with comes with a prompt window asking you what you want to do, and this gets annoying super quickly when you just want to open a door and have to answer a dialog window every single ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ time. In the cabin, there are almost no hotkeys, and the ones that are there suck. This game wants you to play with three hands: one on the mouse, a second on the numpad, and a third on the left side of the keyboard. Performance is, for some weird reason, super inconsistent. It averages 90 FPS for me, but when I turn around, it drops below 40 FPS, and in MSI Afterburner I can see huge frametime spikes. Also, you can really see the performance take a ♥♥♥♥ with the horrible motion blur that is enabled by default, causing it to freeze and unfreeze constantly. I think its only saving grace is the multiplayer, though I did not buy the game with the intention to play it anyway. Also, since I only had two hours, I did not get to try the multiplayer at all, so I can't say much about it. I wanted this game to escape TSW 6 for a bit, but I have not had a worse experience than this in a very long time. After looking at other reviews, many people agree that the single-player is mediocre at best and the tutorials are absolute garbage. In conclusion, unless you strictly know you want this game, don't buy it. It is not ready.

The dispatching AI is simply put, TRASH! Be ready to wait for 40 minutes for another train, that is slower than yours. It is not uncommon to zig zag your train through sidings, just to rejoin the mainline without having given way to anyone. The AI often lets train run on opposite tracks causing bottlenecks.
