Fab homage to the 80s in the style of Lords of Midnight with a little bit of Elite style trading thrown in. Join the nostalgia fest! :)
Exelent game, it is a pity that there are not many sounds and music; / but for fans of this type of games great, there is a challenge but also fun :D
What a great game, with the graphical style of the old Lords of midnight games
Gra jest bardzo nie jasna nie ma żadnych samouczków nie polecam
Spoko gra ale troszkę nudna. :)
A wonderful great journey! It felt amazing going the whole way, and the return trip was also fun, since there were many alternate routes to take. And so many sights! The historical commentary when I entered major locations was also a lot of fun. Managing your caravan was simple, but had a lot of depth. For example: Would you sacrifice speed for free food, or more carrying capacity? Would you hire more guards just in case, at the cost of high food requirements? The available options at towns and at camping being based on your advisors was a really fun mechanic. It was fun seeing their reactions to the various issues my caravan faced, it felt really charming. Examples: my Soldier expressing their hatred for camels, demanded me to trade them in for horses; Non-parthians not knowing much about the rites of Zoroaster; Kushite advisor having a family where we could stay for free in Kush. The controls were simple but i often fiddled with them, and I once had a bug where i had to reload, because the Camping Scene and a Trade Scene was open at the same time, but over all, the game was stable.
I tried to enjoy this but there were too many negative aspects for me: a lack of information about anything, no compass, character missions that are too difficult considering you have no location-map with the names of places you've visited and no icons of building types on the map, too many repetitive events in quick succession (place a stone here, clean you horses, camp here ...), not much of a cultural immersion, no narrative, virtually no background music and ambiance, the "combat" is confusing since you can't tell enemy numbers, and so on. The idea behind the game is great, but I think it needs more work on all fronts. For all the space the game offers it feels rather hollow, and for me it plays more like a rogue-like trading sim than anything related to RPGs and Adventure gaming. On the positive sides; visually the game looks great, it plays well even with a controller, and it seems to run really well. I did ask for a refund though.
Hello, Nota : This is a curator connect review. This game is somewhat out of my usual field, but I try to provide as an objective review as I can. Management. Managing the herd, mananging the food, managing travel time, managing morale, and managing the trade. As a RPG and tactical RPG focused gamer, I found this game to lack some "hands on" on the characters and the battles. That aside, the concept is interesting and the result rather pleasant. The set goals (which have little to none drawback for failing to reach them), give some measure of purpose in an otherwise completely sandbox open-world game. The options offered in decision making sometimes lack in sense (options are always exclusive, while it is not always logically relevent), but it does make it tougher to minimise the losses, which emphases enven more the importance of ressources management. The historical comments are a very thoughtful implement of the game, both educational and a reason, at least for curious people, to try and reach always more cities. Not for people looking for fancy animations, everything aside travel is text based (but does not require a lot of reading, simple efficient sentences ; the flavour is more in the audio comments of each cities). A poor gameplay (directional, space, enter and esc are all you'll need), but an interesting subject, a big management aspect, and a nice travel / exploration thrill.
