WOW I WAS NOT PREPARED HOW BAD THIS GAME WOULD BE.... AN ABSOLUTE TRAINWRECK FRANCHISE DESTROYER!!! Silent Hill was one of my favorite game series of all time. I waited decades for this??? Way too many negatives to list, ♥♥♥♥ you Konami, you'll never get another cent from me again.
CHICCCCCC
Silent Hill f is a worthy addition to the canon of survival horror games. The atmosphere is picture perfect, graphics are wonderful, and its story is wonderfully cryptic. However, it is not without flaw. The optimization is poor. My system is by no means weak, and I got semi-consistent frame drops and stutters on High. The combat, while fun, gets a bit repetitive by the end of a playthrough. It's not as bad as some reviews say, as new mechanics and weapons are introduced consistently throughout the game to spice it up, but it could use some refinement. Some puzzles were also a bit obtuse, but that could be me being an idiot. Overall, Silent Hill f earns an 8/10 from me. It's a great game, but falls short in a few aspects needed to elevate it to the giants of the genre.
Silent Hill f is a bold new direction for the Silent Hill franchise, blending psychological horror with a hauntingly beautiful Japanese setting. Rather than relying on cheap scares, the game builds a constant sense of tension through its atmosphere, unsettling visuals, and emotionally driven storytelling. The art direction is exceptional, creating a disturbing contrast between beauty and decay. Combined with immersive sound design and an eerie soundtrack, every moment feels meaningful and unsettling. The narrative explores themes of fear, guilt, and human nature in a mature and thought-provoking way. While it introduces a fresh setting and new characters, it remains true to the psychological horror identity that defines Silent Hill. Overall, Silent Hill f is an impressive evolution of the series. It respects its legacy while confidently establishing its own identity, making it a memorable experience for both longtime fans and newcomers.
