About
You’ve been on patrol for multiple days when you see a fleet on the horizon. Your first instinct is to dive and engage, but it’s a clear day and one of the destroyers has spotted you. Now it’s a fight for survival, a naval game of cat and mouse. Avoid the depth charges whilst you fight back and strike when the enemy is at its most vulnerable, or switch to silent running and lose the enemy in the depths below.
Silent Depth 2: Pacific is a sim-lite submarine game, designed for fans looking for an easy-to-learn, arcade-style naval experience without requiring the use of technical manuals or hours of study to manually calculate torpedo launch vectors.
Tailored to fans who fell in love with the original Silent Service series, Silent Depth 2: Pacific is a great choice to ‘get your feet wet’ as we continue to develop new features throughout Early Access.
Much like the highly approachable ‘classic’ submarine games from the past, this game allows you to perform important roles on the ship whilst keeping you focused on maximizing the tonnage you send to the bottom of the ocean. Prepare to scout merchant ships, destroy enemy convoys, launch torpedos, fire your deck guns, and then dive to safety in the deep thermal layers from incoming destroyers.

Approachable ‘cat and mouse’ gameplay set in the Pacific Ocean.
Encounter and evade a variety of enemy fleets & merchant ships on war patrols.
Realistic water simulations for a truly immersive experience.
Intuitive torpedo-based combat with auto-calculated firing solutions, keeping the action fast and furious.
Day and night cycles, offering different challenges and opportunities.
Varied weather conditions can impair visibility, adding an extra layer of complexity.
Sink ships whilst carefully monitoring your limited resources to maximize your daily tonnage score.
A layered damage system that challenges you to react and survive when different ship systems become temporarily or permanently unavailable.
During this Early Access period, we will be hard at work refining and polishing Silent Depth 2: Pacific to deliver the best possible sim-lite submarine experience. We're focusing on implementing a range of feature and quality-of-life improvements from short-term ‘upcoming’ to longer-term goals prior to going 1.0 Please refer to the Roadmap below and join the Discord to share your feedback, experiences and meet the community.

Not awesome. Graphics not great by today's standards. 'Nostalgia' only goes so far when you realize that, like the original Silent Service, you can't order a course. You have to give a rudder order and then babysit it until you come to the course you want. In other words, you can't really tend to the duties of the captain, you have to play helmsman. Also it suffers from the 'mouse doesn't work if other game controllers are plugged in' malady. If you have flight sim controllers, for example, you have to unplug everything. Wanted to love it... can't. Had to keep asking myself why I wasn't playing Silent Hunter 4.
I love this game! Its a submarine shoot em up. And relax, all you salty U-Boat captains. I just wanna blow stuff up. I don't wanna do advanced trigonometry in my head while keeping an eye on those pesky escorts. If it bothers you so much, play "U-Boat". I think this game is fun, but... I could REALLY use some NEW updates! I'm getting tired of patrolling that little section. Anyway... Good hunting!
I bought the game after reading the reviews and did not have high expectations. They developers really missed the mark .They could have done so much better. The only time that I would play this game again is if I was waiting for a delayed flight in Nome Alaska during the Winter.
I've been playing Silent Depth 2 for about a week now. It's easy to learn and relatively quick to play a mission. I'm looking forward to improvements to come since right now the enemy AI is pretty simple and the maneuverability of some of the ships is pretty unrealistic. Replayability is limited in its current form, but it's definitely worth having in your library when you want to have a quick sub game to play.
If you liked Silent Hunter 4 for commanding a United States Submarine then you will like this one. Graphics are good, controls are easy, and the gameplay is smooth. Road map is very promising and I can't wait for future updates.
Its decent but basically a arcade version of silent hunter 4 my 2nd engagement right off midway in 1942 ran into Yamato and it somehow detected me in the dead of night 4000 yards away I guess the yamato had sonar.... the game has potential but dont really see it getting finished if you consider what other games that compete with it looks like
Vielleicht sollte Man das Spiel erstmal fertig programmieren. Wenn das alles ist am Programm, da ist ja Silent Service von 1987, besser aufgestellt. Das ist doch mittlerweile eine Frechheit
Works well enough on Deck. Fun game, especially if you are into the naval combat genre. probably the closest thing you can get to a ww2 submarine simulator. There have been a few hinks and kinks in the woodwork, but overall, a good game.
I was thrilled when to see Micropose back to making games and reviving some of the old classics. Back in the day, I played count hours of Silent Depth/Service. But this game is no where near ready to be sold or even played. There's virtually no controls other than simple arcade style-- there's not plotting course or torpedo launches -- just chase the ships and spam torps. This is pretty terrible.
This game loads to the menu screen. But I can get no further. I followed the recommendations and submitted crash logs on their Discord server. For my trouble, I was told I needed to unplug all my USB devices and then it "might" work. When I responded that I was unwilling to do what was suggested and would wait for game fixes, one of the devs became increasingly insulting and told me "I might be waiting forever". I haven't asked for a refund yet, and may not. But the game is uninstalled and I'm not going to waste any more time on it, until, or unless, it reaches a functional state.
