XR22-SEAGUARD is a paid VR supported game, that is like the game Battleship. It worked to a point on my Index system, looked ok, sounded ok, played ? Requires an Epic games account to play. I don't have an Epic games account, and don't want one. You cannot play without Epic games account. This is Steam, write the game to use Steam account. Has 11 steam achievements. Don't bother downloading, if you don't have or want an Epic game account. I got a free key for this from the Steam Curator program.
Experienced on the Meta Quest 2
You can view my gameplay & early impressions here: https://youtu.be/afgB4iAx9S8 This is a neutral recommendation, unless you're a die-hard battleship fan. In that case, I can easily recommend this game for you. Anybody else, well, this game is in Early Access and it has time to improve. There are some issues though that you should be aware of and explain why I'm only giving this a neutral recommendation. Probably the biggest negative to most: this game requires an Epic Online account. I think it's possible to only login with Steam, but still, you're using Epic Game Store online service login & linking that with Steam if you do so. Otherwise, you're going to need an Epic Game Store account to login. Now I did this and logged in without any issue. I don't think it's a deal-breaker, but I know lots of Steam users would disagree and would call that a deal-breaker. Besides the above, there are other issues. I had to play standing because otherwise, I was too low to the ground. There are no graphical settings. The locomotion joystick is on the right joystick, instead of the left. But really, the biggest negative for me personally, is that the core gameplay loop is just point & click on a floating board. I know it's battleship in VR, but I think you can find a more immersive way of doing the moves. Even having a board like battleship would have been more fun than pointing & clicking on a floating board.Honestly, I think manually aiming with some levers would have been the best way to do it. Maybe add some 2-3-4 square special bombs, but that are harder to control, to make the game go a little faster & add some flavor. The enemy AI is decent. I wasn't able to test out online multiplayer but I think it should work fine. If you have a buddy who would want to play battleship in VR, there's probably not a better looking version than this. Game is obviously running on the Unreal Engine. On my RTX 3080, I was getting a steady 90 fps. I did not experience any serious issues or bugs. You do have full locomotion, along with smooth turning and teleportation. However, they are on the wrong side of the joysticks. Rate 5/10. It may be the best attempt at battleship at VR, but it has several flaws. Recommended for fans of battleship.
Please note: I received a free Steam key through the Steam Curator Connect program.
✔️ Follow our curation page if you are looking for more high quality reviews, Zeus Reviews

XR22-Seaguard
is an iteration of the original "Battleship - The Classic Naval Combat Game", one of the world's most famous strategy & guessing tabletop game, which is almost a century old (1931).
Pros
✅ Being the only Battleship imitation on digital form ✅ Online multiplayer / Crossplay ✅ Decent AI ✅ VR Support
Cons
⛔️ Lack of modes ⛔️ Lack of basic Options & Menus Two players put their battle ships in a 10x10 grid, with their position being concealed from the opponent. Each player has 1 shot per turn to guess the enemy ship's locations & the one who'll destroy the opponents fleet first is the winner. What amazes me is the fact that there are not other any digital version of Battleship, with exception the ones you ll find from shady sites, so the fact that it becomes accessible with online multiplayer, crossplay & VR Support is alone a big plus for me. Other than that though XR22 is kinda barebones. There is only one mode (the original) that can be played vs a decent AI (and each time you win it you gain ranks) or vs online opponents. The rounds are played on a big realistic hangar with two square pools that mirrors yours & your opponent's grid & each guess/turn ya see a rocket homing to the desired location. Visuals & effects are fine but nothing to write home about. Options unfortunately are minimal, the game offers you very few which are part of the HUB instead of having a dedicated window for them (hitting escape closes the game immediately). You can't place your ship in desired locations (yet i hope) you can just randomize them. Linking/creating an online epic account is mandatory, which is a thing i don't mind but I know many that would. Considering this is an EA title, i hope a few things will be ironed out, but, as mentioned above, this is the only battleship iteration on steam & i m glad it exists as a fan of the original! A fun VR experience of the classic Battleship game, if you enjoyed Battleship and are looking to play it in VR and in multiplayer against other then this game is for you.
Nice relaxing game! Superb lobby giving good impression of some elements of the game. Great realistic environment! I tried single player mode (both medium and high level). Next time I'll try the multiplayer mode in VR!
It is a very interesting game. Very good for the family.
